My First time there. It was a bit different than what I'm use too. The equipment is a bit outdated compared to the other places I've been. I got a vagacial and the little steamer sat between my legs. I couldn't relax because I was too nervous it would tip over and burn me. The table had plastic on it with nothing over it. So I was sticking to the plastic and when I got up I was soaked with water. Ms. Felicia was super nice and personable but the sugaring service wasn't the best. When she finished she told me to wipe off the baby powder used and she'll meet me out front...it was a LOT of powder. So much so it caked around my ankles. If that much is needed I think clean up and lotion should be part of the service. As I was cleaning I saw that the hair was still on my legs. After years of waxing I only have hair on the outside and back of my legs. However, It had been a while since my last wax so the hair was at least an inch long at the start of service. After the service I realized that the hair was still present and about a half inch long. The process didn't remove from the root and instead broke in half. I called Ms. Felicia back in and she kindly went about going back over the hair. I think she should have seen or felt the hair but at least she was nice about it. After going over it again the hair was gone but after three days, I have stubble like I shaved instead of waxed. I recently moved here and tried this spa because I used to get sugaring in Alexandria, Va (Adira Spa) on the regular for about 5 yrs. The process would last at 6-8 weeks and as I said, after many years I have many bald areas. The difference between the two spas is that in Alexandria, they use regular wax first then go back over with the sugar. Also there was a LOT of pain with the underarm. Ms. Felicia explained the hurt was cause by the hair being pulled by the sugar during the smearing and before the rip. I tried to gently suggest regular wax first then sugar but that suggestion didn't take. Ultimately, If the hair would have been pulled from the root the second time, and I got my money's worth I wouldn't have bothered with the review. I think strengthening attention to detail skills may be in order as well as recognizing when different/combo services may be needed. read more

I did not have a very good experience today when I went for a Brazilian. I've had sugaring done before, and decided to try here because my preferred salon was booked up. The service resulted in redness and inflammation along my bikini line. Since this hasn't happened to me before I'm not sure if it's burning or what, but it's very uncomfortable. I found noticeable bruising as well. The hair removal was very spotty and quite a lot was missed. The person that did the service lacked professionalism and made conversation/several comments that were a little too political for my comfort, borderline rude in my opinion. read more

This place was very professional & clean. The thing that bothers me is I got this sugar wax and a week later my pouch was growing hair back and it was painful. Now usually I will laser but since I was away from home I heard this was the next best. Far from it! It was an hour of pain just for the hair to be growing back a damn week later. Sugaring is still painful, but not nearly as excruciating as using hard wax. My cosmetologist, Montie, is amazing at what she does. She is very patient and knowledgeable. She educated me on the added benefits of sugaring such as how it exfoliates as it removes the hair to help reduce ingrown hairs and that it typically lasts longer than waxing. Had a customized facial appointment with Oni and she did not disappoint at all. Oni was extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant. She took her time analyzing my skin to determine what was going and she also asked me questions about my regimen, what products I used, and what were some things that I wanted to fix or enhance with my face! Oni explained every product she put on my face and why. She did a nice extraction on my nose area and was able to get all the junk out of my pores. She also gives a nice massage on your collar area and neck, which was very soothing and almost put me to sleep. I left with my face glowing and even more clearer. Oni already started discussing follow up with some other things I want to do to my face and products she can out on my face which I'm excited about. Got a Brazilian and it was the worst experience I've ever had! It took 50 minutes and it was soooooo painful!!! I left and I was completely stuck together because she left so much wax on me, I had to use oil to get it all off.. She also burnt me with the wax and when I got up the next day I had scabs all over my private area! Marletha took the time to ask me important questions and once we were ready to go she explained to me why sugaring may not be the ideal method for the current situation. I was 10 minutes late (yes, on my first appointment SMH) but Monte didn't slack and still completed my Brazilian and underarm treatment with care. I'm new in town and decided to give this place a try because it has five stars. At first glance, the place was kind of cute, but upon entering wax room 2, I felt different. Room had barely anything in it, ceiling tiles were worn and brown and the walls dingy. I ask for a sugaring and it was literally the worst wax type experience I've ever had. I'm not sure if it was because the woman was new. But my appointment was at 1, and I left at about 2:15. Also the longest wax type experience I've ever had. She began with sugaring, then finished with wax because it was too "difficult to get the hair" as well painful for me, but I was charged full sugaring price. Normally I wouldn't mind, but as I got home my girlfriend pointed out the patch of hair in the right corner of my bikini area, AND I had asked to get the top of the back before I left because people normally forget it, and she STILL didn't get it. $68.90 for a wax, and I get it because I work for tips too but for you to charge that much and not do a good job, as well as charging for sugaring while you actually waxed too was pretty unprofessional. There wasn't even any paper towel in the bathroom. AT A PLACE WHERE THEY CHARGE $70 A WAX. Definitely won't be visiting again, and I wouldn't recommend to anyone. I would have just settled for someone else to maybe finish off what she didn't, instead of writing this review but they won't even answer the phone. Spend your money elsewhere. read more
