I could not get them to come and work on it because only Jeff does that and I couldn't talk to Jeff because his number wasn't given out. I had to call on certain days of the week before he left for deliveries. Then he didn't show up on the day scheduled. No call either. This has been going on for almost a year. When he did come (twice) he sprayed the undercarriage which helped for a short while. Then back to the begging and groveling just to get to talk to him again. Sadly, my Leaders experience could have been far better. I purchased a 48" round table for my…read morelanai. I opted for Leaders $149 delivery to my home. When the table arrived, it was accompanied by two young men that obviously were not trained properly. The deliverymen couldn't even figure out how to get the table through my front door. After watching them take a chunk out of my front door jamb as well as visibly scratch the 4th plank of the (previously undamaged) table. I had to verbally direct them as to how to lift and tilt the table through the door. Unfortunately, this is where things go even further sideways. Soon after letting Leaders know what transpired, two men were dispatched to my house to "repair" my door. The lead fellow claimed that he could sand the damage down and repaint the area. He did admit that matching the paint would be a challenge. These men were not carpenters, but rather more like damage control reps. Neither to my knowledge had any professional carpentry licensing or authority to represent themselves as such. Like anyone else, I was very reluctant to have them touch my door and make matters even worse. I later received an email from a Mr. Tim Newton, President of Leaders who apologized and offered me my $149 delivery fee refunded to conclude this matter or Leaders could pick the table up and refund my purchase price. In order to simply move on and not incur even more damage to my home while removing the table, I conveyed that I would be willing to move on from what had become a very stressful situation. I stated that I would accept $500 for the damage to my door and the scratch on my brand new table. This was beyond reasonable. Mr. Newton refused my offer and reiterated that $149 would be all that he would offer. Let me state clearly that all I wanted was that my brand new table arrive undamaged AND that my home remain also remain undamaged during delivery. That's all I wanted. Buy the furniture, have it delivered, and enjoy it. Through no fault of my own, this is not what happened. To top this whole debacle off, Leader's unprofessional handing of this matter was absolutely atrocious. I will think twice before ever doing any further business with Leaders Furniture of Sarasota. I would strongly recommend that you do the same.
