This company used to be good, NOT anymore. Our garage door opener started acting up. Since we bought it from them had a guy come out. Lubricated some areas and left. Still had issue, another guy came out and did some adjusting. Still not working so ANOTHER guy came out and said it was the electrical board needed replacing. Came back today to put in the board then left WITHOUT resetting the remotes in the cars! Only part was the spring. Like an idiot, out of curiousity, I checked two other garage door companies the next day that service Ventura and they would have charged 385 to 480. Overhead gave a one MONTH guarantee. The other companies - 5 years! When I called Overhead the next day (Jennifer, manager) to inquire why are you so dissporportionally high they gave no reason at all. No offer for any partial refund, no credit for future repairs, nothing. Very cold and "so what?" attitude. When you get a door or have a needed repair - shop around! Right torsion spring broke in my Raynor insulated garage door previiously purchased from and installed by this place. Was told by Joshalyn broken spring had to be brought in for them to fabricate another one just like it. Fabricated spring was not the same.. smaller wire size and smaller spring in general. I questioned the lack of balance this smaller spring would create since I still had the original left spring in place. Eric replied it would function just fine, no difference would be noted, Raynor sold 250 springs but these 250's are replaced with these smaller 200 ones. They sold me a smaller spring whose bolt patterns doesn't match with the original yet they told me it would work just fine. When installer noted the gross uncompatability, I called and spoke to Eric again and Eric: refused to refund; admitted to the incompatability of smaller bolt pattern on their fabricated spring even though upon pick up of spring he said it was fully compatible with the installed system; and, stated he could order another original Raynor sprring but that it would take weeks due to shortages and delayed shipping issues, thereby contradicting his previous statement at pickup of spring that smaller 200 ones are used intead of originals ...wow, talk about a hypocrite! The service technician never showed up for the sheduled appointment, the home office had no idea that he didn't show up (why not is my question). One of my Garage door spring broke the day before yesterday. I called Santa Barbara Overhead door, since I bought my garage door from them 12 years ago. The set me up for an appointment for the next morning. The technician was late, but he called me on his way to my house. I was very pissed, but as soon as I saw the technician and his absolutely nice manners, I forgot what I was pissed about! His name is Ryan, and he is one the best technician that I have ever seen in my life. He was extremely professional, and fixed my garage door temporarily in about 30 minute. There is a shortage of springs, and I knew that because no store within 500 miles from me has the parts. I checked. He said he will try to find the parts or make them! I was happy that the door was fixed and I could access my car. I got a text later on the day, that he will come back next morning, and he DID! and took him an hour to make everything like new. I cannot emphasize the amount of Care, Helpfulness, Honestly, workmanship and niceness of Ryan. He is a true gentleman. And I like to thank Eva in the office for keeping me posted along the way. Do not use this company! I don't know how their service is, or how the doors are, because I have been waiting 6 weeks for mine. It was supposed to be installed yesterday. I was told to clear out my garage 12 feet back, which I did, then it rained and snowed all over my things. Service was above average in every way. Would highly recommend this company to family and friends without hesitation. So, now that we have that out of the way, here's the TLDNR review. I had to leave town the morning after the torsion spring on my garage door snapped, leaving the door inoperable. When I got back on Wednesday morning, I called VCOD, and the earliest they could get to me in was the in two days, on Friday. So I made an afternoon appointment, planning to leave work early and be home in time to meet the repair tech. As luck would have it, I soon found out that I would not be able to leave early on Friday due to some personnel issues at work. So I called back to cancel my appointment with VCOD. They had received a cancelation for an appointment that afternoon, so Brandon was available to come fix my door that afternoon. He showed up quickly, was prepared and knowledgeable, the repair was completed in very little time, and for less $$ than I was expecting. In the above and beyond department, AFTER the bill was paid and paperwork signed, Brandon realized that I was going finish installing the door sensors to connect to my garage door opener (NOT part of the repair job). So he got out of his truck, came in and offered to "help" me.
