We called early on a Sunday morning and explained our situation. A few hours later Gerry stopped by on his way into town to have a look at the tree. As we were standing next to the tree exploring possible options for saving the tree, a light breeze blew and the entire rootball began to rise and the tree leaned a bit more toward the house. Unfortunately, the tree would need to come out right away. He changed his plans, headed back to pick up his gear and returned a short time later. It is such a pleasure watching a true professional, expertly and precisely go work on a task. He pruned each limb with absolute precision, then gently handed each limb down in an easy to manage size thus preventing any damage to the surrounding plants on the hillside. Within no time at all the tree was safely down. He even took the time to give me a quick lesson on using a throw bag to get a line and ham radio wire antenna safely and precisely up into a tree for emergency communications. Gerry was actually referred to me by the Hartley's of Hartley Botanica, which gave me added confidence that he could be trusted with my job. I had an ~7 year old majestic palm that I needed transplanting from one side of my yard to the other to make room for new hardscape. He was willing to take the job on at a fair price and completed the job without a problem. He comes from a palm tree growing background, so he was very knowledgeable about the sensitivity that the palms required.
