This place was a disaster. They gave us absolutely no instructions on where to go, which means we got lost while going back into the town which had no bike path. Finally, we had to take a bus home which could only fit two out of the 4 bikes, go figure. If you want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere I recommend this company! read more

Stopped by the day before to hold 2 bikes. I'd recommend doing that, so you get a rental, they have multiple locations and will make it happen with a heads up. Bikes were well maintained, which as a cyclist is very much appreciated. John Johnson set our seats and gave us the run down on E-bikes. We went about 40 miles up to Vail top of the ski slope and back down. Bikes performed perfect, good tread on tires, good breaks, everything well aligned. Really frustrating experience. We were in Beaver Creek for the weekend, and my husband realized he had left his beanie at home. We walked in at 5:20 and two people welcomed us in, and the person at the counter promptly told us the store was closed. All posted hours and hours online read that the store was open until 1800. Another person was allowed to come in and check out. We were turned away. My husband had planned to buy two beanies as soon as we walked in. It didn't feel great, and almost felt targeted. read more

We rented e-bikes on a cold day and could not have been treated better. The bikes were in great shape and we received clear instructions on how to operate the bikes. Very efficient. Great location. We rented a bike for a last minute ride with my kids and were looking for a trailer, which we couldn't find in other shops. Everyone was really helpful and nice. It took us less than 20min at the store to get and pay for the bike, trailer and helmets. We came back and dropped them off before closing. Everything was a breeze! Rented Skis from Avon location took back to hotel and the ski shop laughed and said you got these from Venture Sports. They charge for Demo Skis and give you old low end skis. I went right back and the guy said he would take 30% off the price I said no and returned. The heavy guy was laughing in the back because he knew I caught them. Wife went in to get daughter's skis adjusted only to be met with a defensive reaction from the staff member present. He seemed concerned about her pressing legal action due to how they originally set up the skis when all my wife wanted was for them to adjust it to better suit our daughter's needs. I live in Avon, and thought I would hit up a local shop for a quick ski tune, December 9th, 2014. The gentleman working, with a very straight face, said the tune would be $75, for ONE pair of skis. I asked if I heard him correctly, and he quite shortly replied, "Yes." With places like Alpine Quest and, heck, even Vail Sports, there is NEVER a need to return to Venture Sports. AVOID. read more

I've never experienced quick and easy service when it comes to picking up ski rentals. Granted it was a Thursday morning (not really sure how busy they get during the week) and no other customers were in the shop. The co workers were friendly and helpful. The shop was very clean. The price of our rentals were a lot cheaper then I was expecting...with is always a plus :). They even provided our group with a discount....which is a double plus. We utilized the shop by the Cascade lift and must say the service was AWESOME. Large staff to fit our group quickly, boots were warm & soft EVERY DAY! Great friendly service bringing your skis & boots out when you walk in and there to take them with a smile when you get back and overnight storage included - the apres beer & wine was NICE too! Not on the inexpensive side but you get what you pay for and the few extra $ was worth it!!! We were in the area for a wedding, and I was desperate to get out on trails. Zach and the team at Venture set me up in a big way: My Yeti for a couple of days was ideal -- perfectly tuned, and set in advance to my height and weight. Zach also asked me what kind of riding I was up for, and then sent me out on just the right trails. If I could give it a 6th star for their service I would. Top of the line ski equipment, followed by top line people. I booked a ski trip and rented ski gear through Venture, JD stayed in touch with me the whole time and even documented when I told him I had been rehabbing from a torn Achilles. I called him early Saturday morning and said I am done and swollen can you pick my gear up and credit me the other day, without question he said you bet and all over it. I rented a road racing bike from Base Camp in Vail Village. The bike was a top of the line Pinarello Dogma and so was the price ( $150 for one day rent). After I left the store and started to climb toward Vail pass I realized the electronic shifter for the front derailer did not work ( they had forgotten to recharge it). It is no fun when you have a steep climb and then the same descend. When one rents a bike so expensive it expects the basic to work. But what annoyed me is they did not offer even a minimum refund! read more
