Came here for a wedding celebration on a Sunday afternoon to evening! The only rough part about it was a Padres game happening around the same time so parking was rough and expensive and you would need to park a bit far to get something cheaper but expect to pay a decent amount for parking. I personally have never heard of this location until attending my high school friend's wedding here and wow, I don't know how much the venue cost was but the space itself spoke for itself and was so nice! My friend had both her ceremony and reception in here and the way everything transitioned and was set up, I truly enjoyed was amazing by the views and space itself as they even had stairs to back areas where the bride and groom can put their things. A bar was located on the opposite side of the venue and restrooms behind as well as a nice sitting area near it. Loved the yummy hors d'oeuvres that was served too! The bacon wrapped scallops were the best!! Not sure how the packages for weddings work here but given the space inside for all things possible and being across the street from Petco Park, I'd say this is a nice spot to have weddings at!! I'd come back if I could! read more

Fantastic for mid sized receptions. We were dazzled by the features and set up. A little hard to hear when everyone is talking but I loved the farmhouse style reception and how an intimate wedding turned into a raucous party! read more

Before you make any decisions based on my review, I want to make a full disclosure. My visit was for a private event, not a normal business evening. What a cool place in a cool part of the city! Even though there were quite a few people there, it never felt crowded. The whole place had a very cool vibe. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. The facilities, including the restroom, were clean and presentable. There was a variety of food and appetizers that was served. It was all fresh and good! If I make it back to the San Diego Area, I would gladly go back. read more

Plan your next event at Venue 808 if you're planning a wedding or corporate special event and are looking for a beautiful venue to host it. Venue 808 is located directly right in front of Petco Park in the ballpark district in downtown San Diego off J and 9th Street. I had the opportunity to attend this beautiful venue by going to a corporate party, and I had a great time. The interior is hip and modern with a trendy feel vibe to it. It is very spacious with separate rooms and a lower and upstairs area. They offer a full service bar, and the decorations such as trees and flowers inside are immaculate to view. The event we went to had an endless table of beautiful charcuterie board offerings crackers, meats, and cheeses as well as a pleasant dessert bar offering limitless cheesecakes, lady fingers, and chocolates. My team and I had a lovely time here sampling the hors d'oeuvre from the staff and all the tasty treats they had to offer. Customer service was second to none, and there was ample security provided throughout the night. The venue was very welcoming and clean, and I had a great time while attending this venue . I would love to come back for a round 2 at any given time if given the opportunity ! read more

Venue 808 is very nice, and large, establishment. It is neat inside with a large tree, and spacious setup, with multiple rooms. It is located downtown. There is a parking garage nearby since street parking I went for my company holiday party and got to enjoy Venue 808. I really liked the look, like a large open warehouse. There were plenty of servers all night long bringing appetizers, shuffling food around, making everything run smoothly. Definitely unique and not like any place I have been to do downtown for any other events or parties. read more

Choosing Venue 808 was truly one of those "when you know, you know" decisions for us. From the second we walked in, I feel like my husband I knew right away that this was our venue. Starting off with the staff, the tour of the venue was so informative and they were all so attentive to our questions. They knew the venue inside and out and all the magic that the place had to offer, and that radiated into how they described each different nook of the venue to us. The place is truly even better in person, and it has so much to offer -- from the bride/groom suites, separate rooms that can be accommodated for different spaces (we had a separate room for our photo booth, coat/item check, and wedding items that all fit so comfortably), the gorgeous suites, ceremony space, bar, reception space... the venue really has it all. We need to give a major shoutout to the venue team and our go-to, Katie (venue manager), who was such a huge help leading up to our big day. Though it could've been challenging to plan our wedding from a different state, Katie was responsive, knowledgable, and always so accommodating when we would visit the venue. From setting up, to ceremony ideas, to reception ideas, she was a guiding light into how we could make sure that our day went smoothly and made sure we felt confident in our decisions. She's extremely professional and so easy to talk to, and we were so lucky to have her expertise every step of the way! We had the best day of our lives here, and highly highly recommend Venue 808! read more

Venue is very nice! Parking is the worst due to it being located in downtown San Diego! There is an Ace parking located a couple of blocks away for $25. Venue is a large open space with various lounge areas to choose from. They also offer a full service bar. read more

My partner and I got married at Venue 808 in August 2022 and absolutely loved the venue! It's the perfect combination of industrial and modern but unique and unlike the typical warehouse spaces you might find elsewhere. It's also perfectly set up so that your wedding will flow seamlessly from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner and dancing without a big effort to turn over the space or inconvenience your guests. Having our ceremony in the chapel and moving right into cocktail hour by the bar was probably one of the smoothest transitions I've experienced at a wedding. The cocktail hour space could not have been better with ample seating which is hard to find at most venues. I think one of our favorite parts was the big reveal of our reception area when they pulled back the curtains for guests to see all the tables perfectly set and waiting for them. It was definitely an "Oh wow!" moment! For our wedding, we decided to activate the speakeasy and handed our special tokens for our guests to use to enter - we received so many compliments about the fun experience! Our guests loved how the speakeasy tasting was personalized based on their tastes and they also learned a lot about the types of liquor they were drinking from the extremely knowledgeable bartender. Overall, our guests could not stop talking about how cool the space was and we were so glad that we got to get married in such a unique spot! The central location is extremely convenient if you're hosting out of town guests as the venue is within walking distance to a number of hotels of all price ranges - just be sure to check the Padres schedule as the area can get congested if there are any baseball games or events happening across the way at Petco Park. read more

Best venue so far in downtown for any big events such as weddings, engagement parties, and almost any industry gathering during comic con, count me in, the place transformed into Amazon Prime theme of a bunch of different tv shows, they have tacos and drinks serving all night, I really like the veggie tacos out of the other two beef and chicken, the veggies got guacamole and sliced mushrooms that gave the sensation of meats, yet you get a healthier option. The venue is huge and could accommodate at least 850 people at maximum capacity, their catering is superb, definitely recommend it. read more

So when we were planning a wedding my fiancé sent me links to 3 venues. I chose this one right away bc it's so cool inside. When we went to the food tasting (they do the food from Social Tap) we almost backed out the tasting was so bad. We were doing tacos and you can't serve bad tacos in San Diego. We discussed it with them and I'm so glad we stuck it out. The wedding was flawless and beautiful in the venue, the food turned out great. Multiple folks told us it was the best wedding food ever. Venue was great, food was great, the whole night was perfect. No notes. read more

Great venue, parking may be a challenge but not impossible. Lots of different spaces make it a bit of a curious wonderland. I'd be excited to be invited to a party here again and would happily host an event here. read more

The most beautiful venue in San Diego! This review has been long overdue. My husband and i had our wedding in Venue 808 October of 2023. Our experience was so amazing and we are still over the moon about our wedding. Before choosing Venue 808 we went to all kinds of bridal shows looking for venues and we had multiple appointments at other local spots in San Diego. The moment we walked in to Venue 808 for the first time we were just in awe. It seriously feels like you step into some kind of fairytale place. The trees on the inside, the multiple scenarios, and the beautiful bride and groom suites make this space totally one of a kind. I love how it has the cute chapel and the side bar with the table area. After our first visit we just couldn't see another space come even close to how beautiful Venue 808 is. We went ahead and made the deposit and secured our date and it just kept getting better from there. We did multiple visits to plan our vision and every single time the team went above and beyond to accommodate our schedules. I was working 6 days a week and would get out of work late and they were always so nice about letting us come in in the evening to do our walk throughs and to get measurements or anything we needed. Another plus for this venue, it includes the tables and chairs, and you honestly don't need too much decoration since the space itself is already amazing. We did the planning ourselves and the decoration and the team was amazing at giving us advice or just answering every question we had. The day of the event, we were able to come in and get started on our decorations and drop off things with no issues at all. We had our ceremony in the chapel and it beautiful! I loved how the close smaller space made our ceremony more intimate. After the ceremony we had our cocktail hour by the bar and it was so much fun. Our guests were in awe at how beautiful everything was and hadn't even realize the tables were set and on the other side of the venue. After the cocktail hour we moved everyone to the tables and it was such a smooth transition. I really liked how we were able to use all of the space in the venue and it felt like we were at 3 different places. Not to mention soOo many great pictures! I am honestly still head over heels about this place. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I would say if you're thinking about it definitely make the appointment to check it out. Trust me, after you go in this Venue, you will not be able to stop thinking about it. read more

We had our wedding at Venue 808 (which is catered by Social Tap) and I cannot rave enough about them. The entire team (Brant, Chad, Desiree, Jake, etc.) were nothing short of incredible from start to finish. They answered all our questions, helped us navigate through anything we asked, were attentive and responsive to emails/calls, and the food/drinks are AMAZING. The views at Venue 808 are absolutely insane and are matched by the incredible access to the Downtown/Gaslamp area in San Diego. We even had our after party across the street at Social Tap which was amazing for all our guests. Honestly, I plan on encouraging anyone I know in San Diego to have their wedding at Venue 808 so I can go again as a guest. read more

We got married in Venue 808 in August 2024 and it was the best decision we could have made for our wedding. The venue itself is stunning, spacious, and truly perfect for a wedding. We had around 140 people and both our bridal party and groomsmen got ready in the private bridal/groomsmen suites. The catering for Venue 808, Social Tap, is nothing short of the amazing. The food and drinks were incredible, and our guests loved the welcome drinks, tray passed appetizers, charcuterie board, and late night snacks. 10/10 would recommend Venue 808, particularly if you have a large wedding! read more

Fabulous venue with lots of built-in character and plenty of space for larger groups. Social Tap catering provided delicious food and beverage options and are well seasoned in event planning and catering. As a corporate event planner Venue 808 is an ideal one stop shop that is a fresh alternative to a restaurant or nightclub event space. Social Tap's service staff is top notch, very helpful, attentive, full of creative ideas and willing to be flexible to accommodate small or large budgets. I've had the pleasure of hosting two events at Venue 808 in my career and can't say enough good things about it. read more

I recently booked and hosted an event for 800 people at Venue 808 using Social Tap Eatery's catering menu. From start to finish this was a home run. The staff was professional, creative, responsive and had it together. I didn't have to worry about a thing! They made clever solutions on how to use the space and worked with me as my event evolved. The space is gorgeous with a great location and my attendees loved it so much we're going back again in 2023. I highly recommend booking this venue for your next event. Brant and the team are top notch! read more

Such a great venue for all types of events! The most unique space in downtown San Diego.

After losing our other venue to a foreclosure 3 weeks before the wedding, Venue 808 really came through for us. Brant, Jake, and Zack were all attentive, answered every question, and ensured we had an amazing night. I loved how big the space was even with only 65 people; we had plenty of room to spread out and had separate spaces for ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and dancing. Social Tap was required for catering, but the food they served was incredible and guests said it was some of the best food they have had at a wedding. Thank you for making our day so special! read more
