I tend to not like giving bad reviews- but really this is to help others not make the same mistake as me. I went to Venus for a half leg wax. The woman who helped me was running 25 minutes behind. They took me into a back room for the waxing- in basically a dimly lit closet and had me sit on a massage table that was covered a fake fur/sherpa- which was not a sanitary surface. This was literally the worst waxing I have ever have. She did not use enough wax, do any sort of method, and the room was so dim I couldn't see how much she got. I paid $65 plus tip- left with my legs full of wax residue- and worse yet- patches and patches of hair that she missed. I ended up having to go buy razors to shave. I hear they are great for nails- however this is not a place for a professional wax. Waste of money and time. read more

Extremely low quality mani/pedi, I don't think the lady working on my nails was certified. This was just plain polish in the photo shown, my 7 year old could have done a better job. They couldn't do acrylic as I originally requested because only one of the 3 ladies working was able to do it. There was also a roach near my feet and kept moving closer I had to move my purse and shoes. They didn't provide foam slip ons while our nails dried and made us walk barefoot to the mani station from the pedi chairs. I don't know why they have a 4 star rating. read more

This was my third or fourth time coming back to this establishment and to be honest I was pretty disappointed. I've written a review before showing my ombré nails and French pedicure which I had no problem with because the ladies who did those were different from the one that did my nails a couple of days ago. What's funny is I talked to my boss about it and she mentioned how she got her nails done by this one lady who she showed a reference picture to and the lady made comments and the nails didn't look like the picture, plus wouldn't do what you'd tell her to do. Just happened to be the same lady I got my nails done by, I believe her name was Teresita. Anyways, my nails are extremely bulky and I wanted a natural looking nail ombré like I'd gotten before but with a white powder done instead of clear and she didn't even drill the undersides of my nails. I have these huge chunks of acrylic under my nail that keep collecting dirt and crap that make it extremely hard to clean, and during the appointment she dropped her buffing sponge onto the floor and drilled into my skin, didn't even apologize. Her technique was extremely sloppy and my thumb nail doesn't even have acrylic going down to the cuticle like all the others do, you can literally see my actual nail like it's been grown out over two weeks even though I literally just got them done. Overall not impressed, I wish Jenny could've done my nails because she did them the first time and I absolutely loved them, plus they were cheaper. What's funny is how towards the end when I was about to pay, she goes "usually people say something like how nice the nails are or make comments about how much they like them," expecting me to tell her how wonderful she did when I was thinking quite the opposite. I got a bit of second hand embarrassment when she said it too, if you really expect that much validation after doing a shitty job you shouldn't be working as a nail tech tbh. Sadly, just not a very good pedicure ... not much of a scrub, not much of a massage ... I would have gotten the same end result if I'd just paid for a color change. She was nice enough, but it seemed like she powered through the thing as quickly as possible ... I think she was done with me in 20 minutes. And there was no reason to hurry - they were not busy and no one was waiting. They don't seem to take seriously that we pay for the thorough scrub and soothing massage part. If you're going to spend $50, you want to feel like it was worth it. Especially when we have to wear this ridiculous germ-ridden mask to be out in public. I was so underwhelmed I forgot to even turn on and enjoy the chair. I really wish I had gone elsewhere. read more

Our party was for 6 people. Myself (bride) and 5 bridesmaids. Of the 6 of us that had our makeup done. Only one was half way pleased with her make up. The older lady that did my sisters make up seemed inexperienced and frankly, uninterested in getting the job done decently, as per the picture my sister provided . The other younger lady doing makeup also seemed to not really know how to match and blend foundation. Produced a very department store amateur makeup look. My MOH only kept the eyes because the rest of the makeup made her look washed out and didn't match appropriately. My last bridesmaids declined getting her whole face done because of the results of everyone that went before her. I, the bride, had the wrong color foundation sprayed all over my face with pour contouring and blending. So on my Wedding day, I had to rush back to the resort and wash my face; just to have to rush and do my own makeup before going down to the beach to get married. I'd rather there be honesty about the level of experience with doing makeup with diverse skin tones. If the experience is lacking, then just say so. No harm no foul, just don't let someone waste their money. Then there was the swapping of brushes, cross contamination and lack of sanitation with the Make up and applicators and brushes. Yes, they are my family but all of us have different skin; so sanitation is still Important. The ladies were nice but as a group with 3 professionals in the skin and beauty profession, we were expecting a better caliber of makeup experience. All but one of us, didn't even feel the makeup was worth the money nor kept it on. read more

We were turned away because we were told they didn't have time. With no other clients in the store and an hour until closing, that should have been plenty of time. However, the place is very nice on the inside. They offer a bunch of salon options. I was with my girlfriend, and she wanted a massage and pedicure. Katie who was in charge of our massage was freaking amazing. Tell her where you're sore, she'll fix it. Sara worked on the nails. I don't often get these done, but she seemed to do fine. Just here in SPI for a few days. Stopped in with a friend on a Friday morning without an appointment for pedicures. The staff was very nice and took us right away. The decor is super cute. The turquoise blue chairs were comfortable and massaged nicely (the lady doing my pedicure mentioned they were brand new). My pedicure was great and looks beautiful. At the last minute, my friend and I decided to get a haircut (and she added a manicure as well) and they fit us both right in for the additional services. I was pleasantly surprised to see my total bill for both services was under $55. Amazing! I'd definitely return when I come back to the island They do charge a small percentage fee for using a credit card (I think it was a little over 2% but I cannot recall). read more

I had really high hopes for this place. I chose this place due to all the highly rated reviews, it seemed like the best option on the island. We called ahead of time to see if they had open availability for two pedicures. They said yes and invited us over. When we arrived, we didn't have to wait at all, we were immediately seated at a station. Now the atmosphere was great, the conversation was awesome, and I felt like I was being pampered but, yes there's a but and a reason for the 3 stars. I felt like the pedicure was a little rushed and not as detailed as I've gotten at several other places. It was kind of pricey at $28 for just a basic pedicure which at first, I was okay with because it's a tourist city and I can understand the mark up in prices. While there my boyfriend decided to get a haircut and I decided to get a manicure as well. He really enjoyed his haircut and the outcome so no problems there. I enjoyed my manicure but again, not as detailed as several other places and I didn't feel like it was worth the price. Besides polishing my nails, the only other thing that was done was trimming them and applying lotion. They did not remove the dead skin around the nails or push the cuticles back. We ended up paying around $130 total, that was with a very good tip because initially we were very happy with the experience and I was ready to rate this place 4 stars. But a day later, my nails are already chipped and I can still feel rough dead skin on my feet. So definitely not worth the place for the work they do. I'm really disappointed that we spent and tipped so well for the outcome. Removing another star -- nails keep chipping, so badly. It's literally like I didn't even get them done because 90% of the polish is gone, so disappointed. I wish I could get my money back, it was a waste. read more
