When I think of getting a mani/pedi I envision relaxation. This was not that. The pedicure. It started with the receptionist dropping a timer on the tray with the tools. We were working against a clock to get this done (it was not busy). It was painful. Cutting the nails down too far. Ripping at my cuticles with the little scissors. My feet were barely in the water. The "massage?" More like someone rubbing lotion on my legs. Hot towel? Yes, left there until it was cold. Good job on the polish though. The manicure. Apparently I don't know how she expects me to move my hand because she kept scolding me as she turned it the way she wanted it. Sorry. She got annoyed with me because the polish wasn't curing under the light. My bad. Pretty sure that's not my fault. She didn't remove the one layer leaving it tacky (I did it myself). Good job shaping my nails and for getting the design right. I'm not from the area and just popped in while I was in the area. There were other people doing nails in there but I don't think I'd go back. The gal doing my nails didn't even say hello. Asked me what color and what design. I don't wanna chit chat but a simple hello would've been nice. The reception folks were nice and the man was so happy with how my nails turned out (me too) but the process to get there just wasn't enjoyable. read more

Very disappointed with Cosmo Nail Bar in Brownsville. I asked for a drill-only removal of dip powder due to a nail sensitivity issue--something other salons have handled with no problem. Instead, I was told I had to use acetone or not get my nails done at all. I explained it was just for this visit, but they refused, arguing that the drill would thin my nails. Honestly, everything they use damages nails to some degree--acetone included--so that excuse doesn't hold up. It feels like their real priority is speed and volume, not client care. They clearly want to get through as many people as possible, and pushing for cash payments with "extra points" just seems shady--likely to avoid IRS reporting. Sneaky and disappointing. This place is a place to go if you're looking for somewhere pretty to look at. I appreciate that they get you whatever drink you want when you walk in, that it looks clean, and that they have so much variety. But here's the big problem for me: Im not going to a restaurant to look nice; im at a nail salon to get a good service done on me. Getting your nails done is something aesthetic meaning it can't be rushed. I appreciate that the owners are willing to get down and dirty to finish a job fast. But this shouldn't be done fast. If you don't have enough time in the afternoon to do a job correctly, just say "sorry there's not enough time." It's been a week and since they didn't clean the edges of the nail, what was stuck to the skin is now peeing off. The nail art they did is warped. The shellac is bubbly and uneven. I like my pedicure to be on its own time to relax and the manicure on its own time. Not 2 in 1 let's get her out. Quality is a must and I think from now on, instead of paying $45 for a flawed manicure, im going somewhere else. read more

Worse pedicure I've ever received. The nail technician rushed through it, was rough, and messed up the big nail. I asked it to be fixed and she was really upset at me. She slammed the nail Polish on the counter and just put another layer of nail polish on it. She needs to find another line of work because she s not very good at pedis or has the personality. read more

Does anyone recommend a good nail salon in the spi to Brownsville area? I just had the WORST experience at Cosmo Nail Bar. I was unhappy with my manicure due to me telling the nail tech (who I might assume may be an owner) to cut my nails short. Maybe it was taken too literally or whatever the case being, I did not like them. I simply asked to get them fixed. (I also said I would pay for the extra service, and whatever necessary for my nails to be fixed). All for the nail tech to go off on me about how she did nothing wrong and how it was my fault for asking for the nails to be shorter which I owned up to. We had a full blown argument about who said what when all I asked was for my nails to be fixed. In front of 15 other clients. So with that said, Screw you cosmo! I have been going there for 3 years and have referred soooo many friends to go see them. Please let me know of any nail salons! thanks for reading my rant friends! As soon as I walk in I'm greeted! I love all their services. Prices are legit/ reasonable. I did come and get a classic pedicure with shellac. I'm a 1st timer here and I can say I will be coming back. Plus, they serve margaritas 21+ of course! No extra charge for the drink it comes with your service.. I received a coupon for 5 dollars off thru and decided to go even with the previous experience. I got there and showed the girl the coupon, she said to just show it when I pay. They accused me of having already used it and then the owner said they had been having trouble with their system. Instead of providing decent service after my last experience she said it wasn't her fault and didn't even bother overriding it. Like any other business with great customer service who like to keep their customers. Then they charged me 17 dollars more than usual because the gas went up! And the pointed to a small paper written in marker prices went up. WOW! Care to tell me that when I first arrive I even have an account with them so it's not like I WAS a first timer. I was at the Cosmo a week ago for the first time. I got a gel pedicure and received the worst pedicure ever. I didn't even get gel. My "gel" peeled off all by itself within 3 days. Will NEVER go back. Lesson learned. read more

Great customer service. Husband and I were greeted as soon as we walked in. We were very happy with our pedicures.

So I went in to get a specific nail design but since I didn't have an appointment that was an issue from the start. So I decided on something else and apparently the nail tech was not happy. He said the shape I had asked for was to long. I told him the color of powder I wanted which was a light PINK and he began to put a clear powder and he insisted that the color he was putting as pink. So when I told him about it he just completely ignored what I said and began to cut my nails off and soaking the two fingers he had put the acrylic on. He didn't even tell me he was going to do that . I hated the fact that he wanted to do whatever he wanted and the worst part was that I wasn't even rude ...I sure as hell don't recommend this place .... read more
