My experience with Cindy was good. I got an acrylic full set (ombré), aside from mentioning one misshape nail, it was fine. Not much conversation as she was on the phone which is also fine but it was a little awkward. Cindy was very nice though. My experience with the #2 spa pedicure with a different nail tech wasn't the best. The treatment up until the painting was good. I asked her to correct the issue in the store which had nail polish on my skin, halfway painted and some smeared off. She reapplied the nail polish which helped a little. Got home and did my normal day to day things and the color smudged off on two nails. I didn't get a gel pedicure, but I should be able to get regular nail polish on my toes and have it stay on. Terrible nail job. Tried to get the guy to cut my nails down as I like a shorter nail. He gave me long thin nails which promptly broke the next day. Made me pay for a cut down even though he didn't cut them down but God forbid, had to file. My water was getting cold and it didn't appear anyone was even close to providing my pedicure. I finally just left. If I could give Venus nails 0 stars I would. The service is terrible. They did my nails and it took so many hours to dry, even when I went to bed that night the polish got smeared, when I looked this up it said this could be due to old polish. I decided to give them another chance because I had a gift card, I explained my experience to the owner and she immediately just tried to upsell me and ask "well, do you want gel this time?" The gift card did not have an expiration date anywhere but they refused to take it because they said "it's expired" when I explained this to the owner she did not care, even after I explained to her that what she's doing is literally illegal under the code of Virginia. NOW they have a big sign that says gift cards expire after a year. These people are complete CROOKS!! I visited the Venus today for the first time and I didn't know what the hours were but it was close to closing time but they took me for a spa pedicure. Another young lady was in the shop and it started out peaceful but she got worked over a personal issue with her feet (she shouldn't have been there with her problems) but she caused a big commotion and fused at the employees for what seemed like an eternity. The employees handled her very well and were very respectful to her in-spite of her terrible behavior. I say all of this to say that the shop closes at 7:00 and I didn't leave until after 8:00 so much care and work went into giving me a great experience and I will be going back again. I'm super picky about getting my nails done and who does them. Ive only been here once prior for a pedicure as I'm not picky about my feet. The place is nice and clean. For irrelevant reasons I went here and got my nails done on a whim. I honestly was nervous about not liking my nails because that's who I am as a person. Henry did my nails though he was gentle and friendly. He kept me informed on everything he was doing which was kinda of a nice plus. (since I was not used to how he did my nails compared to how I usually get them done). Most importantly my nails came out great! They are not too short or too long for me. He understood what I wanted for the length and shape. I love them and will be back, it's worth giving them a chance here. Overall I liked the quality of my nails. I had different techs for my pedicure and manicure. The pedi tech was an older lady who didn't speak to me. But I realized this was bc she spoke little English. She was really nice and did a great job. When I got my mani she checked on me again and said it was nice. My mani tech did a good job with my dip polish, but didn't initially clip the dead skin until I asked. She thought that using the mechanical filer pushed my cuticles back enough and it looked like it did. But I hate having dead skin. The salon looks really nice and clean. The sterilizer is visible. The waiting area is comfortable. There's a good selection of polish (gel, dip, and regular). There was peaceful music playing. However, the owners daughters were getting their nails done then played which didn't fit the peaceful environment the nail salon seemed to be striving towards. I get gel nails (full set and fills). I switched from another local nail salon to Venus Nails & Spa about six months ago. They are very nice and always professional. The color options and their willingness to try new designs is amazing. I've always done a single color with nothing special added and since I started coming here, I've felt much more comfortable to try new things. I have definitely stepped out of my comfort zone and they've been willing to try all the different designs I've brought in. This salon is located at 50 North Stafford Complex Court #106 , Stafford 22554. In my 3rd visit, I found the technicians on their rudest moment; except for Susana and the manager. The moment I walked in I told one of the staff I need basic pedi. And I even signed to their piece of paper for a pedi. But this woman told me to have a sit to one of manicurist table... not pleasantly. As if I was there to mess her day. The attitude of this other staff was very blunt and harried when I sat at her table. Not even looking at me. Told me in a harried manner to pick my color. And asked me in a irritable tone what do I need and look at my fingers judgmentally. When she found out I just need a basic pedi. She yelled at the lady who walked me in. She just went and pointed at Susana without telling me where to sit. I stood in the middle of the floor looking dumb. Susana did my pedi. I asked her in broken Spanish if she does design she said no and told me she will asked someone to do it. I asked one technician who did my pedi before if she can do my design she just gave me the sideway look and speaking without stopping from walking and pointed at Susana, looking irritated. Then the manager told this rude technician to do my design, but I finally had enough and told him it's okay. I will pass. So, I hate it when you ask if the person can do ombre nails and they say yes, and then your nails turn out like this (see pics). The pink on some nails went up to the top of the white, this was not ombre. Also, there were some sort of red flakes in the powder that Kevin used and there were streaks going through the white. I am happy that this was paid for with a gift card for my birthday, but I won't be back here. I came once when this place opened and they messed up regular dip powder on my real nails. I gave them a second chance but will not be giving them a third. Not saying this is the worst in the area but it's up there as a close second. Update: I'm sitting here thinking about how my nails were done and realized that this guy did a full set of acrylic nails, not ombre dip powder nails like I asked for and paid for. I have my own dip powder system and have had dip powder nails done previously at another salon. This guy glued tips on my nails, dipped a wet brush into powder and sculpted it onto my nail. Then, topped the finished product with a gel topcoat and I had my hands under a UV light! Wth!! I was in a rush because I was leaving to go on a trip, that I didn't even realize what was happening. Giving this place three stars ONLY because of the cleanliness of the place and the friendliness of the gentlemen working in the front. The stars stop there though as I had a really mediocre manicure by a tech that acted like I ruined her morning. There must have been a shortage on nail polish remover as she didn't even remove all of my polish before she started the manicure. Had to point out areas she missed which appeared to have annoyed her more. The hand massage was limited and pretty worthless. Since I didn't want any color, she slapped on two coats of top coat, charged me $17 and that was it. Top coat cracked on all nails by the next morning which was weird. Only know I won't be going there again, but if you do, pray you get the friendly guy. read more

Mediocre nail polish, nails are never files equally, gel polish bubbles up and they really push gel polish on feet because regular polish takes forever. My day started terribly and Mercy at Venus turned it around! I had a 9 AM appointment at another local salon and was asked to until my technician arrived. 15 minutes later I asked for an update and was told to just be patient. I called Venus before they opened and asked if they had an opening when they opened (9:30) for a mani, pedi and brow waxing. Gentlemen on the phone told me to come on over and they would take care of me. I arrived with the staff ready to service me. I typically only do a basic pedicure, but was talked into a more expensive package and IT WAS WORTH IT. Unlike other salons, Mercy took time to to make sure I was satisfied with every treatment in the package. She was constantly making sure I was comfortable and happy with her work. My manicure was just as great, she really got all my gross cuticles and was very attentive to every nail. This was truly a great first experience with them and I'm so pleased 1 person was able to do my mani, pedi, and wax. At other salons I feel like I'm just being passed between people. I got a pedicure, I requested a regular pedicure which was $28, I was told if I wanted the pumice stone used that would be an additional $10, everything that is included elsewhere is extra here. The lady that did my pedicure was very rough, she kept clipping the skin on my toe until it bled, even when I told her to stop it was hurting, now it looks infected and STILL hurts! I visited this place in early March 2019 for a pedicure. Great service and friendly staff. My technician did not speak to me but honestly, that's how I prefer for my pampering appointments to go. I received a regular spa pedi. Within 2 weeks my polish had chipped (which is not uncommon for me). Fast forward to April 11, 2019, I returned for a gel mani and gel pedi. A little lady named Kim completed my services. Super sweet and super quiet, perfect! However, she missed a step during my pedi session and before I even had the chance to address it, she acknowledged and offered the rectify the situation, another bonus. I had a little gel polish around my cuticles but honestly, it was not a huge problem for me until it began to lift from by skin and nail bed three days later. Here's where this review gets good! - I went into the shop yesterday - preparing to be stern and complain about my nails. I saw Ms. Kim as soon as I opened the door and showed her the one toe nail and one finger nail that I wanted repaired. She proceeds to take me to one of their spa pedi chairs (which are THEEEE best, btw!) and commences to take off all of the gel polish on my toes and fingers. Confused, I asked why??? and she patted my hand and said, we'll fix for you. Enters Kevin (the gentleman who sits at the very first station) who polishes both my toenails and fingernails with the gel polish and confirms that I am satisfied before he tells me to have a great evening and invited me to visit the salon again. My mani and pedi are flawless! I am currently living in North Stafford and this salon is very convenient to my home (as well as many others) but it's this kind of care, consideration and customer service that will keep me as a patron of Venus Nail and Spa. Firstly, I would have loved to give this establishment 4 or even 5 stars. The quality of the nail and pedicure services were excellent. However, the manner in which it was doled out and to whom, was abysmal. I watched several other patrons who had come in approximately and hour AFTER my arrival, be treated ever so kindly and whisked out. Another customer expressed her consternation on the time it took to complete her services in comparison to other customers. I too spent THREE HOURS in what should have been about an hour. It was apparent by my own experience and watching how some customers were given preferential treatment while others were treated like non-paying customers that this nail salon may prefer only certain customer types. Suggestions: If this salon is understaffed, hire more staff or tell customers, up front, the wait for service will be long. Consider posting prices to prevent the perception that you may unequally charge customers. Sadly, although a convenient location and the services were great, I will not return and will continue paying for services rendered in a timely, professional (i.e., greet ALL customers, don't text and talk on your phone, and take care of non-related work activities while servicing a client and then expect a tip for rude, flippant service) elsewhere. read more

Disappointed. Prices higher than other salons, quality poor. Can still see the edges of my prior nail polish (pink) under my darker new polish; so the polish was not fully removed. Spots missed on the new polish, can see nail, even though I pointed it out. Not pampering, such as massage, lotion just dabbed on back of hand. Tools were wiped and placed in sterile bag, closed like resealed, put back in drawer and reused-not sterilized in machine. I will never come back to this place again. It is a Tuesday and I'm off work and my 5 yr old daughter is off school so I thought how nice would it be to go get our nails and toes done since we had been cooped up with covid for the past month and are better now. I picked venus nails near my house because it is a well known place. I walked in the door and they asked what I wanted and I said a manicure/pedicure for myself and my daughter. they said ok and I asked if they can do dip on my nails. they said yes and then asked me multiple times if I had gel on my nails and I said no iust regular nail polish. we sat and they started on my daughters nails. my daughter showed the lady what colors she wanted (purple and blue) and the lady continued to bring pink nail polish multiple times despite being told the color purple and shown the color purple. then when they came to take off my nail polish the 2 ladies were arguing with each other about who was going to do my nails because neither one of them wanted to do them. my nails are short and apparently that was a problem for both of them as I was asked multiple times if I wanted to do acrylic or gel with tips and I said no to that. I just wanted my nails cleaned up and just black dip on them which was ALSO a problem for them as well. I have NEVER been treated this way in my life at a nail salon and I will asaddeningbsolutely never give these people my business. my daughter and I were the only ones in here and you would think it would be easy to give top notch service when you're the only people in here besides the workers but I was wrong. Even my 5 year old daughter said it was not nice that they treated me that way and did not want to do my nails. It is so incredibly saddening. read more

I was excited to see a new nail salon pop up closer to my house! I decided to stop in this afternoon for a manicure and pedicure. From the outside it didn't look very busy so I was like all right! I should be a in and out in no Time - and I was right! I walked in and before I could even tell them what I was there for - an older lady doing nails looked at me like I had 3 heads and said ..."sorry we are too busy - come back later"... there were 3 nail techs and 3 customers.... WOW! I would of waited 15-30 minutes soaking my feet...and relaxing...but I didn't even get an invite to wait! Not sure how long this salon will be in business with this type of service and not even open on Sunday. I went to the next shopping plaza and was welcomed in and treated like a customer should be.
