I'm incredibly disappointed with my experience and will never book here again. In fact, I would caution anyone looking for a new salon to think twice. I've never had design nails done before, but I'm taking my daughter to Disney and thought it would be fun to get Minnie Mouse nails. As a single mom, I can only schedule appointments while my daughter is in daycare, so I planned this as a rare "me day", my first one in almost 20 months. I booked my appointment three weeks in advance for 10:00 AM and received written confirmation stating, "See you at 10:00 AM." On the morning of my appointment, while I was dropping my daughter off at daycare 30 minutes away, the salon called and told me my appointment was actually at 9:00 AM. Despite me having confirmation that my appointment was scheduled for 10:00 AM, the response was essentially, "We called the other appointments and they can't move, so we can't do your nails. You can come sit here and we'll see if we can work you in." So because of an error on their end, I was the one who lost my appointment. As a new customer, I was apparently the easiest person to bump. What was most disappointing was not the scheduling mistake itself, mistakes happen, but the complete lack of effort to make things right. No accommodation, no attempt to prioritize me, no solution. I took time off work, arranged my entire day around this appointment, and left feeling completely dismissed. Customer service matters, especially when the business is at fault. I have came here twice after looking for a good nail salon. I heard such great reviews about this salon and they book quick so I set up an appointment I believe a week or two in advance. My first set I got for a holiday party last me exactly 3 weeks. They looked so great and were the longest set I've had. Bao does a wonderful job. He is extremely precise, kind, friendly. I live in Stafford and have tried so many different nail salons, needless to say, I have never been happy :( At the time, I chose Fancy Nails based solely on the photos they posted on FB. I always prioritize cleanliness, the skill of the technician, and the quality of products when searching for a nail salon. And let me tell you. Ivy DID NOT disappoint!! In fact, I have also had my nails done by Ken and Bao and they also do an exceptional job! I never feel rushed, and I always have the perfect shape, design, and nail thickness. They listen to what I want and provide advice when needed. The level of detail is incredible! They are professional, friendly, highly informative, and they are always so willing to change/fix things to make sure it is exactly what you want. I always feel so relaxed and comfortable when I am there. And that level of customer service is hard to find! I also love the cleanliness and ambiance of their nail salon. Amazing service. They have four nail stations and about five or six pedicure stations. BA did my nails. She has a very interesting technique for dip which I LOVE. She paid a lot of attention to cuticles, she did not roughly file my natural nails, applied a cuticle oil at the end of service. As I was enjoying my self care- I overheard customers stating they hat they drove from Maryland, Richmond,VA and Washington D. C. Just to get their nails done at Fancy nails. Today I visited his salon for the first time. After reading the most recent reviews (necessary because the poor reviews were from when it was owned by the previous owner), I called an scheduled an appointment and was able to get in the same day. First, the establishment was clean, spacious, well lit and welcoming. Second, I was greeted by a very friendly young lady when I entered, Ivy. Ken was the technician that did my gel pedicure and manicure. Ken is MAGNIFICENT! He was very pleasant and he took his time, paid attention to the details, and even re-polished a nail three times because the top coat didn't cooperate. This was WITHOUT A DOUBT, the ABSOLUTE BEST service I've received in a nail salon in the 30 years I've been going. Thank you Ken and Ivy for a pleasant and relaxing experience. I don't recommend this nail salon if you want a regular (not gel) manicure. The selection of regular nail polishes was old and dry and the nail technician convinced me to use a gel color without the gel coating on top. They didn't have the color I wanted (a neutral dark coral) even in the gel polish so I chose another color. The color selection wasn't even half the problem, the immediate chipping was! First off, to anyone reading this.. ignore the bad reviews. They are under new management and basically a whole different place :) The best nail salon in the area by far. I can't stress it enough how CLEAN it is here, as well as comfortable and quiet. Pretty sure the pedicure chairs are new, they're super comfy! The attention to detail is amazing. I went here earlier in the year for a gel mani and pedi.. and I had what was literally the best gel application I've ever had. I came back here with a friend for our birthdays just a few weeks ago and we loved it!! I did something a little out of the usual and Ken did an amazing job getting me exactly what I was looking for. This was an excellent visit. My nieces are turning 12 in a few weeks, taking a cruise with their mom once school lets out - they're going into 7th grade next year - their mom agreed to let them get ombré nails in celebration. They were super excited, looked up pictures of what they wanted to be done on their phones. This was the first time they've ever had nail work done, but the lady who worked with them was super awesome! On our visit, they were short staffed with only two employees working, but they were able to handle the four of us (four pedicures, two nail sets, one mani and three eyebrow cleanups) in the matter of a few hours - and at great pricing as well! I've been to this salon twice. I loved my nails. Today however I went had my nails beautifully done. Scheduled another appointment with Ivy paid and left. I asked questions about the charges to understand her pricing. One thing I was told there is a 7.00 charge for nails up to a certain length which is what I have. A 10.00 charge for longer nails. In the process of me trying to understand her pricing I guess she must have gotten upset. Once home I received this text message from her "I am so sorry for texting you like this, I don't think i can do your nails again so I have to cancel your appointment in the future. I hope you could find some other places with a better price and quality services. We still have the 7 days guarantee for your set you have done today, if anything happens my coworker can fix for you! Thank you for supporting our small business. I responded "I'm sorry you feel that way simply because I was trying to understand your prices. It's your business and you have the right to refuse my business however I am sorry you feel that way. Blessings to you and your business. I would have truly appreciated her talking to me before I left so we could have better understood what the issue was with her. I again love my nails and have no problem paying for the service obviously since I returned and also Scheduled another appointment before leaving. I am just mystified as to why she could not have cleared any concerns before I left. I will find another salon that's not a problem because they are everywhere in the area. Despite the photos posted on Instagram, Fancy Nails is does not provide the appropriate quality of service to all of its clients. I had a negative experience recently, where my nails were uneven, poorly filed, and very boxy. When I expressed my concerns whole getting the service, they were brushed away. The nail tech was either disinterested or rushing, either way the appointment did not go well. I am really disappointed with the outcome and wouldn't want that for anyone else. read more

Walked in on a slow Sunday afternoon. Tina was the only person working and was with another customer so I had to wait a while but that was fine. All I wanted was a manicure, that's it. Tina talked on the phone the WHOLE TIME she worked on my nails, hardly acknowledging me. She cut my nails so unevenly, one hand looks noticeably longer than the other. She cut my cuticles on two fingers so short that it hurts to put pressure on my fingertips. I'm never going back! read more
