I've been to this liquor multiple times to purchase Cognac and Arak (middle eastern drink). Prices and extremely high, so therefore I only go here if it's my last option. Also on my previous and final visit there I was looking for a bottle of Noy 10 year cognac which they were out of, and I didn't see anything else worth buying so I was on the verge of leaving but the cashier insisted I buy a bottle of Castle Dajac assuring me multiple times that it's better than Noy and also said he would sell it for the same price as Noy. I thought "what a nice guy, I'm going to enjoy this" it turned out this bottle was the worst bottle of Cognac I've had, very harsh, burns ALLL the way down, and nothing compared to Noy. Super friendly staff. Everyone is always really helpful. The guy who does the stocking and cleaning (I'm terrible with names) is awesome. On more than one occasion he has helped me carry whatever happens to be in my hands to the register. Their prices are good and they have a nice selection of everything. I don't buy lotto tickets often but when I do I seem to have the best luck here. Oh, man, not to mention they sell the butter rum flavored Lifesavers! The owner of the store told me they regularly maintain the cold box to keep it exactly 1 or 2 degrees above freezing. The cans come out of that box ice cold. When I was in there, I talked to one of the customers who told me he passes 2 other places to walk here because the beer is so much colder. Beer is just the " tip of the ice burgh". This store carries: Liquor- just about everything you can ask for, if its not there, they get it. Very competitive prices. Wine - Decent selection for just about any occasion. Beer - All domestic and imports. Decent selection of craft beers. Groceries - All household products from dish washing soap to dog food. This place is basically a godsend. the service is top notch and all of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. my particular favorite is Ronnie. he's just the nicest guy I can think of and is always willing to chat about any number of subjects. he comes across as truly kind and sincere. I always get a kick out of the hilarious murals that they paint in the windows for various occasions. I personally primarily patronize Verdugo Hills Liquor for the unrivaled convenience of their check cashing service. where else can you cash a check at 9:30 on a Sunday night? it's always apparent that other patrons share the same fondness for everyone there as well. I've yet to observe an interaction that didn't appear as though everyone was anything less than good old friends. I have twice relocated since I lived in the neighborhood but I still make my way to my pals here, and I suspect that will remain true for the remainder. read more

I've been going to this liquor store for over 15 years. Mainly to play lotto. Unlike many lottery vendors in this area, and many areas, this store welcomes and doesn't seem annoyed by lottery players. Bobby the morning guy, and 'owner' is ugly but he's good people. He and I actually attended the same college. Different years of course for he is much much older than I am.
