I came in for two breakfast burritos; one ham, one sausage. The menu says each is $6.99 plus $2 with any meat, so about $9 each. I also got two bottles of water at $1.50 each. With tax and CRV, I expected to pay around $22-$23. The cashier rang me up for $28. When I asked why, he said, "I thought you said double meat," which I didn't. He spoke in Spanish to the kitchen, then lowered the total to $25 and asked if that was okay; but didn't even insert in the cash register or give me a receipt. I didn't want to continue because I needed to go and didn't want to hold the line. I paid in cash to not deal with the extra surcharge fees but the whole thing felt sketchy. I've been here twice so far and each time was wonderful! First time, I got a delicious chorizo quesadilla and the chef was sweet and attentive. Each time I was there I received great service and energy from the cashier. His recommendation on smokes was much appreciated as most places don't even know what to recommend. Stopped in for a quick beer and wine run, but decided to try the food counter and got the 16.99 pastrami sandwich combo, which I was told came with fries and a drink. At the checkout, lady behind the counter didn't know what to enter, so a guy came over to help her and I couldn't understand their language but I could hear him telling her to press "pastrami combo" and "fries". My total was around $21 so I was charged an extra dollar or 2 for fries. Food was good, but not getting it again because of that dishonest practice. I read in a review for a place that specializes in breakfast burritos, that this unassuming liquor store served a solid breakfast burrito at the grill that shares their space. Now I'm not the best judge of breakfast burritos. I'm a bacon, egg and cheese, no potato purist. I don't even rock salsa. For that reason almost every burrito I get is skinny and anemic. This wasn't much bigger than most (i.e. Corner Cottage down the road), but it was piping hot, whipped up quickly and tasty; solid egg, smokey bacon and mild cheddar cheese. But at nearly $10 it was pretty overpriced for what it was. Staff was super-nice. I might return, just for how low-key it was, but my breakfast burrito quest continues. read more

Incredibly disappointed in both the high cost and the lack of appreciation for beer. Came here out of convenience, but had heard good things. Purchased a 4-pack of Three Weavers Southbounder cans and a bottle of an Italian brewed American IPA, a $7 bottle of Birra dell'Eremo's Fiera. If the liquor store has a well stocked and interesting selection of beer in a dedicated beer fridge, you would expect them to understand the basics of beer. This was not the case it would seem. And I'm disappointed in myself for not checking before I purchased. Unfortunately, the Fiera is over 3 years old. That is a hard-no when it's an American IPA. The glass at the top of the bottle was cracked when I popped off the top of the bottle. The beer is clearly expired and flat and flavorless due to the age and most likely the broken bottle. Please care more about your beer and the customers that you send the beer home with. Pay attention to expired beer, and get rid of it when it's no longer a faithful representation of the brewery that made it. read more

Very knowledgeable people at the counter which makes a huge difference when your dealing in high end liquor. I tend to think that when a place advertises both American and Mexican food, it'll fall flat. This food was very good and priced very fairly. The nice ladies behind the counter crafted a small snack for my 4 year old daughter since they only had 12" Hot Dogs and our of small ones for kids. I barely realized that the deli in this store was called Big Willies! I notice these massive hotdogs in the back walk-in when I would check on their inventory. After nearly 2 years of servicing this account I finally tired one of the famous big willies.
