Nestled in the middle of the Tujunga neighborhood off the busy main Foothill traffic it's a hidden gem of a quick stop place with a great variety of basic food and alcohol needs. Marlon, the store manager is the most cheerful and friendly gentleman, he's there all the time and consistently amazing in his dealings! What can I say. I can completely resonate with April's review. I recently rented a U-Haul and when you rent a U-Haul they ask for credit card and driver license. U-Haul rental was done for one day and I was charged for two. Additionally, Marlon who I think may be the owner of this place has kept a copy of my ID and credit card and used my credit card at Walmart to shop for his own needs. Do not be fooled by his nice persona. I will not tolerate such scam from anyone under any circumstance and I am writing this review to make others aware of such unlawful behavior. This place is ridiculously crappy. I know it's not in a great location and I shouldn't expect much, but it was even worse than that. The guy working there at the time of my visit was rude and aggressive and suddenly decided he needed to help everyone in line before me. There are many small businesses that need help staying alive, I'd rather keep them in business than people like this. read more

I'm always happy to drop in. My favorite whiskey is now John Barr and they carry that for 19.00 per 750 mil. Total bargan, 2.99 if you're curious and just want the minibar sample. Speaking of which that's how I learned about it!!!! They have a fun selection of minibar liquor great for gift baskets or goofing off with friends or the wife in your undies pretending you're parked in an exotic hotel somewhere... Now then I would be remiss not to mention that the beer prices and choices are well worth the quick stop too. Need YamYams? Got 'em along with some other snacks and a bit of dairy. Friendly, well stocked, wonderful convenience store. Marlin will take the time to talk to you (and your dog). A real gem of a place. Update: still awesome; my dog gets a snack here! The owner seems sweet. I try to support this store because of him, because of his energy, and because it is local but these guys he has working there sometimes rub me the wrong way. I swear the one guy who is Latinx? Armenian? I wouldn't know because I opt to not make eye contact with people who are silent when I enter their place of employment. He's younger than the majority of the males I've seen behind the register. It's not like they wear name tags here. This is customer service. I am a customer. I'm spending my money here. Helping to keep this place in business. Treat me as such! Whatever he may be makes me want to turn around and exit as soon as I see him behind the register. No greeting, no have a nice day, it just seems as though I'm interrupting his phone time or whatever he does in between customers. 5 stars for the owner. Canyon Market & Liquor is a fantastic little Market in Tujunga. You walk into the store and it looks like it walking into a family reunions everybody is so nice willing to help you on anyting give you directions around town. The owner of the store will not hire anybody unless they're extremely friendly with the public they just started bringing a catering truck in with fantastic Gourmet cooking. Marlon has done a fantastic job of remodeling the store and doing such great work for the neighborhood. So if you ever go by this wonderful little store there is parking on both sides of the store easy to get to easy exit go in there and just say Chico sent you. read more
