I was in the store over two weeks ago to help my grandma get a new phone as her current phone is barely usable. We talked to sales woman and the phone that comparable to my grandmas was not in stock. She stated she could order it and it would take 2-3 days. After week one my grandma was in the area so she stopped by the store to see what was going on. The sales man was very rude to my grandma like he didn't believe her and then states we will call you and no need to stop by. Here I am 15 days later (I live 2 hours away), and have been calling the store since it opened and no answer. If there's an issue we could had ordered another phone or had gone elsewhere. read more

This store charges fees that are not charged by Verizon. The include SetUp?Go! for $29.99, REDUX (a phone drying service), and they put $10 on a finance plan which you can only pay off after 30 days, which is when you'll presumably be charged interest and a late fee. If I can get everything refunded, I will return my new phone and buy one from a real Verizon store or directly from Apple. Do NOT buy a phone from this third party vendor. read more

Waiting to pick up a phone since the store opened at 9 am. It is right at an hour because there is one employee and she has been setting up a new phone (and texting on her personal phone). Now the husband decided he wants his screen to look like his wife's phone so Katy is downloading apps and rearranging their screens. If there was a zero star rating I would give it(Maybe even a Negative). Went to this location trying to get my phone activated and even tried to have a new phone number put in to make it work, as they charged me $15 to do so. They tried to give me a number that is already in use. When I went back a third time they told me I had to go to a corporate office up the road about an 1 1/2 hours away. I laughed and told them this is ridiculous. This location has people working there that don't try to help you unless they can sell you a phone to earn commission. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received in my entire life. I have spent a total of 8 hours yesterday and today on the phone with Verizon trying to resolve the issue and am currently on hold with them again. read more

This is the worst customer experience I have ever encountered. These people don't welcome anyone coming in or ask how they can help. You just sit here and hope they get around to you. I actually helped a lady who'd been waiting a half hour and all she needed was to turn her phone off and on to reset it. They screwed up our order from before Christmas and now can't get it straightened out. Wish I could give no stars they don't even deserve one. They are not a corporate store and are only in it for profit charging fees that Verizon doesn't charge. Take my advice make the drive to the nearest corporate store and DO NOT come to this place. read more

Unfortunately we've had a terrible customer service experience with Wireless Zone, and by association, Verizon. Without going into all the details, my 92 year-old mother hired/befriended a local couple to do some repairs on her roof. My mom lives in a rural Virginia location without cell service and has never owned a cell phone and was not familiar with cell phone contracts. When the couple mentioned that they did not have cell phones my, ever gracious, mom offered to help them and visited her local Wireless Zone store (that appeared to her to be a Verizon store, due to the massive overarching Verizon sign). The couple promised to pay my mom the value of the cell phone contract monthly if she would get them phones, and not recognizing the scope of her gift she acquiesced. She had no idea she was purchasing thousands of dollars in hardware, the most expensive plans, and locking herself into a long term contract (although legally I'm sure she was provided with and mistakenly signed off on the fine print). Note that my mom lives off of $700 per month from social security and the first bill she received was for $339 dollars--unfortunately she didn't share her financial situation with her new friends and they thought she was well-off. As soon as I heard about the situation I contacted the couple and they were 100% cooperative about returning the phones to me and assisted me in getting the phones unlocked and reset so that I could return them. Unfortunately upon calling & returning to Wireless Zone with the phones we were informed that any scuff on the phones no matter how slight would result in a return rejection. Both phones had a tiny (less than 1mm scuff) on the glass. I explained to Wireless Zone that I would be glad to pay a substantial restocking fee and they declined stating that they only resold new products therefore my 92 year old mom was out the $2,000 and she would have to resell the phones on the secondary market. I got a second opinion by visiting an official Verizon store in Virginia Beach and the associate evaluated both phones, initially not finding ANY damage on either and only seeing the tiny scuffs after I specifically pointed to them. The bottom line is that while not in "new" condition they were definitely in "near mint" condition and could have easily been sold as an open box item, with perhaps a $100 discount. (Again my mom offered to pay a restocking fee much higher than that, so ultimately they would have been out no money) The official Verizon store I visited stated that they WOULD have absolutely given a full refund for the phones if they had been purchased from any official Verizon store, as a cracked display was the only limiting factor. I tried one more time to return them to a local Wireless Zone in Norfolk and while pleasant, they 100% towed the company policy "no exceptions" line, even after escalating to the corporate office, and explaining the extraordinary circumstances. So the moral to this story, at least from my perspective, is to always make the drive to your official Verizon store versus purchasing from Wireless Zone. Verizon has a reputation to protect and they've got you and your family's backs, even if it means a short-term or small financial inconvenience for them. Getting old stinks already and having companies that support our elders (and youth!) is important, especially as we're ALL getting older. Wireless Zone suggested that my 92 year-old mother file police charges against her friends (who again just thought they were getting a great deal from a wealthy benefactor and for all she knew WERE going to make those payments on her behalf). My mom unfortunately has no funds to pursue that, nor would she want to given their cooperation and understanding. As her son, I will begrudgingly bear all of the financial burden of her mistake, but I am very disappointed that Wireless Zone, couldn't take one for the team/society on this one. Please don't give them your money. read more

Huge mistake doing business with this company. Bought a wireless charger for my son for Christmas and he didn't need it, so when I tried to return it they would only accept returns within 14 days! How can you only accept a Christmas return within 14 days!? That would mean it had to be purchased just a few days before!! Horrible, horrible, horrible mistake! Never again will I spend my money there, and I'll be sure to tell everybody I know not to spend their's here either! read more

I have been dreading shopping for a new cell phone but finally visited this store. Kacey said "hello" to me right away and was able to pick out new phones. She explained how my new plan would work and even put the new phones in the protective covers before I left. She answered all my questions and took the time to get me the products I needed. Although the parking lot was full, I was helped quickly. I would use this store again. read more

Terrible customer service! They were nice enough when I purchased my phone...I was leaning towards an I-phone, but they did not have any in stock so showed me the Droid 4 which also has a Siri like assistant plus a slide out keyboard that I really liked. I asked if I tried it out for a few days if I could return it for an i-phone and they said no problem. Then, after using it for a few days, the power, or Sleep button would not work. I called and they were very helpful about how to reset it, and I also asked if they had gotten any iphones in and answer was no. The next day I was still having issues with the power button and reset was not working. I called again the next week to see if they got in i-phones as they were expecting a shipment. Again, the answer was no, but they told me I could return it and then purchase an iphone from another dealer. They then told me I would have 14 days from time of purchase and that there would be a 15% restocking fee. What I misunderstood was that I had to bring phone back to them and then go somewhere else to purchase the i phone. Instead, my husband tried to return it for me at an authorized verizon dealer in a nearby city who then explained that since these people..Cellular Services, are not a direct dealer for Verizon that they could not take the phone back at their location...he would have to bring phone back to them and then travel back to Newport News to purchase new phone. As he was out of time, I told him I would take care of it myself on Monday, (he was there on a Friday). ANYWAY, here it is Monday...14 days from my day of purchase, and all I wanted was to at least replace the Droid with one that was working properly. I was told that my 14 days were up yesterday, which was a Sunday. I guesss they included the day of my purchase in the 14 days, and be aware that week ends count as business days also. Again, apparently my bad for not understanding, as the store Manager on duty continued to point out today. They said they could not help me and gave me number to Verizon Warranty dept. They were great, and thought that this store should replace the phone since I had been in touch with them about the issues, and then also that they never got any iphones in stock as they expected. He called them, got the manager on the line, and she was adamant that there was nothing she could do. Not even an Im sorry, just that it was all my fault for not coming in within the 14 days, (I did go in one day when I was in town hoping that they would have i-phones but no). I was not even told about the 14 day policy until I was at least a week into it. I guess I have to take responsibility for not fully understanding the policy, but the fact that they talked me into the Droid with their biggest reason being that if anything goes wrong with it they could help me whereas with the I phone, the closest Apple store was in Norfolk which is a much further drive. Yeah, help me up to 14 days. Bottom line is that they had absolutely no concern as to keep me on as a customer. Well, mission accomplished! And I will be sure to let everyone know in our small county that neighbors Gloucester that will listen that these people will NOT take care of you. The rep from Verizon that was assisting me said he was very surprised at their attitude, and reminded me that next time I made a purchase to be sure to go to a full service Verizon store and not just an authorized dealer. Dummy me, I thought that if they had Verizon as their main sign and how they answer the phone that they were an official Verizon store. So, now I am stuck with a phone that is not my first choice, and then my only recourse was that Verizon is sending me a replacement phone, but it is not brand new.
