Where the fluff has my previous review gone?! Ugh, okay, here we go: Love this Verizon simply because the manager gentleman - while not the most polite, enthusiastic, customer-centric personality - doesn't not try and upsell me. Case in point, this has been my go-to Verizon store over the past few years, as the other ones I previously stopped at always were trying to sell me more crap than what I was originally stopping in for. And this makes me mad. Ask anyone who knows me: I usually know precisely what I want (food, what event to go to, a specific shop in town), and I will lay it out for you, sometimes, depending on your attitude, rather bluntly. Stopped in this time to inquire the camera capabilities in my iPhone 12 Pro vs. iPhone 15, and if it would be advantageous for me to trade in and upgrade. He informed me that, while the 15's camera is marginally better, it's not much, and I should look into the 16 which comes out in a few months time. He added that their have been several reviews about the 15's battery actually giving less charge than my 12, another reason to wait, read the 16 reviews when it comes out, give it 6 months for bugs to get worked out, then compare and decide. My husband and I just retired. Going through our expenses we saw Verizon was charging us 85 per line. T-Mobile showed where they would charge us 40 a line with a senior discount. Financially that was great for us. And the gave us brand new iPhone 16s on them. So we called Verizon and explained it to them and they closed our accounts while we had not even changed yet. We wanted to see if they would match it or give us a better deal since we had been with them for so long. We spoke to them, two of them, for 4 hours trying to get our account number. They blocked us right we said we were going to change and we needed the account number to switch. Going into hour 3:45 the lady got back on the phone and asked my husband "do you really want your number"? He said yes. @she said " well, you have 4 options...." That's when I lost my holiness and about ripped her face off right through the phone!!! It was a few minutes until 8 and this women, while giggling told my husband (in6 inches of snow) "if you could find a Verizon store....my husband cut her off and told her he just walked to the corner and was standing in front of a closed Verizon store. He muted her, knocked and the guy came and opened the door for him. After explaining the Verizon guy said, just hand up on her. Went to the computer and within 2 minutes we were walking back to T-Mobile with our account number. What evil sinful people. Always do your due diligence before going head to head with Verizon. They are as bad as American Homes for Rent. Just stay clear of both of these companies and your life will be easy and breezy. The way God intended. 2-phones. We saved 85 dollars a month. I went into the store to get a promotional deal ad a line get a free phone well the sales person had me sign a finance document and I asked why if the phone is free and was told that's how they do this deal and there will be a credit on the bill for the same amount,which there was,now we are being billed for this phone and after calling Verizon and getting nowhere went into the store same thing, Kieffer told me he could take some stuff off the acc to help and then said we have a deal now get a free phone when adding a new line, he's very immature and believe me I will be reaching out to 6onyourside, I have been a loyal customer for over 20years this is ridiculous. read more

My iPhone was crushed while mowing. Went to Verizon in Canal Winchester where Travis and Keefer helped me. They were professional, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The customer service rep lied to my face in order to try to manipulate me into upgrading to a 5G phone: I visited the Verizon store in Canal Winchester on Sunday, October 24th (around 12:30pm) to check on my data usage. As I waited for the rep to finish helping the customer ahead of me, the store phone rang. He put the phone on speaker and proceeded to take the call. I thought this very odd and very unprofessional. The woman on the other end was asking about 5G, would her 4G phones work when towers upgraded to 5G, etc... Being on speaker, everyone in the store was party to their conversation. The customer service rep told the woman that her 4G phones will no longer work when towers upgrade to 5G. I was freaking out as I listened to the conversation because I wasn't aware of that. The other woman in the store had the same reaction. Apparently, she was also unaware. When the customer service rep was finished waiting on the other woman, I asked him why Verizon wasn't letting their customers know that 4G phones would be obsolete. He said there are commercials about it. Um, no. There are no commercials announcing this. I watch plenty of television. He then proceeded to try to sell me a 5G Motorola phone since mine would be obsolete in 'five months'. He even told me, "This is the cheapest 5G we have, and there are only two left!" He was very rude, talked over me, etc... which left a bad taste in my mouth. I told him I only had three months left on my contract and hadn't planned on upgrading that day. Again, he told me that my phone wouldn't work once towers upgraded to 5G. He added, "You remember what happened to 3G." I told him I was going to go to Walmart to walk around/think about it. Later, I contacted my 21 year old techie nephew. He told me that not only will 5G NOT replace 4G anytime soon in the next decade or so, but that my 4G phone may actually work better. No guarantees, of course. I am thoroughly disgusted with the customer service rep (I WISH I'd gotten his name), the Canal Winchester Verizon store, and with Verizon, in general. Worst experience ever. Found myself manipulated into a so called free tablet. Unknowingly they added a line to my account for the tablet, then refused to remove the line without me returning the tablet. Upon finally breaking down and returning the tablet, they then wanted a restock fee, to take back a piece of equipment that I never wanted in the first place. The very one they offered for free as part of their promotion with my phones! The verbal abuse and back and forth for hours that followed to get this resolved (all within the 14 days they allow for) was the most ridiculous situation I've ever been involved in. There was obviously a huge miscommunication and instead of just making it right, the length they pursued just to get a buck out of someone was disgusting. 1/17/17 - Update - Now the $100 visa cards promised for the purchase of the phones has been declined and no one can seem to figure it out nor do the right thing. So in the end, nothing promised was delivered and we're stuck with this terribly manipulative company for service. read more

Worst customer service representative I have ever dealt with in any retail type of environment. I spoke with Mark earlier in the day yesterday and he was so kind and helpful (if you go here, I would ask for Mark). He informed me on the products, colors, and provided me his name and the time he would be at the store. He also informed me that he would only be there until 5 (bummer on my end), but I still decided to go after work to upgrade my phone. I walked in and there was one customer service rep (Carlos G.) and two other customers in front of me. I gave him the benefit of the doubt considering he was alone and there were quite a few things he was doing at once. I waited give or take 30-40 mins before he got to helping me (no problem). He was very kind and helpful at first and was trying to multi-task (which is great). However, as time was passing and my phone wouldn't download the new ios update and then my phone wouldn't sync with the new iPhone, Carlos was more concerned about closing at 8:00 PM then really helping and reassuring me as a customer. He had already charged my credit card at this point. I even told him from the beginning, I wanted to trade in my old phone. He forgot and pretty much told me there isn't much use for me to trade my old phone in, trying to convince me to keep my phone. All he cared about was making sure that I knew he was off at 8:00 PM. He was rude and hostile towards me. The tone of his voice was very degrading and he gave me much unnecessary attitude. Honestly, he acted as if at that point I no longer mattered. It was around 8:30 - 8:45 PM and I just told him to forget it and I would just leave with the phone I came in with. I asked him to cancel the charges back on my card or at least put the refund back on my physical card. He let me know that his store manager would have to do that in the morning when he got in (Scott). I left there agitated and uncomfortable, not to mention disrespected as a customer. He never once apologized for not being able to upgrade my phone or any type of apology. I called the same store this morning to speak to Scott and go figure Carlos answers the phone. I kept it nice and professional (I work for a major retail Corporate company), yet, he was still rude to me on the phone and told me I would have to physically come into the store so that he (Carlos) could put the refund back on my card. I asked him if I could speak with Scott and he said Scott wasn't in until later in the day. I asked him what time and he said 2:00 PM. Still was rude and just said uh huh. I called back and Carlos ignored my first round of calls so I called again and he answered (more rude than before) and said Scott wasn't coming into the store (which is fine, but he could have asked to take a message or anything helpful). I asked him if he could pass along any contact information on Scott and he said in the most disrespectful and degrading way " I already told you he isn't coming into this store." At that point, I've just had enough of having someone speak to me this way, I got in touch with corporate. I reached out to James Gerace and reported this incident and have been in touch since. It's one thing if Carlos was kind and respectful, but he was neither. It's a shame that Verizon would hire someone like this because at the end of the day, these customer representatives are the people who work face to face with new and old customers of Verizon. And these reare pretty much the face of Verizon all together. Carlos is clearly not made for a customer service industry. He needs training on how important it is to communicate respectfully and kindly to customers. 5/18 - I am changing my review from 1 star to 5 stars because of Jordan. I went back today after Jordan (the district manager) reached out to me to ensure he did whatever he needed to do to: 1 keep my loyalty with Verizon and 2 to apologize on behalf of the bad service I received. Jordan (and Mark) both went above and beyond my experience today. Jordan made sure I left there happy and comfortable. I had such a wonderful experience today that it made up for the other two days. Thank you Jordan - you are outstanding and it's really nice to know the way you go out of YOUR WAY to cater to your customers! I will be back again! Thank you again! read more

This store uses highly questionable sales tactics to sell you items that you are unaware that you are purchasing. I was in this store two additional times after my purchase to return items I did not intentional purchase. Very unprofessional staff salesman after bringing this to their attention. Male salesmen was very angry at me when I was trying to understand what they had charged me for and that I wanted to return items. His face was red and he was sarcastically ridiculing me during the process. I never write reviews and rarely return items. I returned two of the items that I was unaware that I purchased, I was never given a receipt and items have not been refunded to my card. So they managed to get me to buy things I didn't want and apparently can't return. I will not be returning to this store. I called Verizon and this is not a Verizon store. This is a franchise store that uses the Verizon name to sell there phones, products and discount programs. So you can not return items such as there discount programs through Verizon, you have to return through there store which is already using shady business practices. Updated 02-10-2017; Company service rep and district manager reached out to me regarding my experience. They explained that my refund for items returned will post in 3-5 business days. They also assured me that their staff would be educated on the issues that were presented. Manager offered for me to return other items if I wished. Overall satisfied with response to the issues I had at the store. Will be more cautious in the future. read more
