I purchased two phones from Verizon with the understanding that I would get the phones for free when I open the account with Verizon. Two days later I got a bill for the phones. I called them and cancelled the account and send back the phones. I was charged for the phones. I called them and was told my money would be refunded. I haven't received a dime from Verizon, but they are scheduling another payment to be taking out of my bank. I should've never given them my bank information. Every time I talk with somebody at Verizon, the say its going to be fix. I'm tired with dealing with this company and I wouldn't suggest their service to anybody. Like much of the world I have been economically impacted by the COVID19 pandemic, the office I was working at shut down on March 16. A week or two ago an executive order was signed by our governor stopping internet and phone providers from disconnecting your services due to nonpayment. His order even went as far as to instruct service providers to restore any services already disconnected due to nonpayment. I don't know if cable falls under this order or not. My payment was due to Verizon Fios a week ago today, it's just for the normal monthly payment, there isn't anything past due on the most current bill. I've got two different phone numbers and between them Fios called four times today. Four times! Oh there also was an email, an email advising how committed Fios is to helping their customers in this time of crisis. What a load of bull. What Fios is committed to is harassing you about a bill that is seven days past due. Fios your service doesn't offer anything the other cable/internet/phone providers don't have. When the epidemic passes and I don't mind having someone in the house I'm switching providers. And I promise not to call you four times in one day to inform you of my departure. read more

I sent a notification that I was moving and to end my service. Found out, by chance, they stopped internet but not TV. I showed them the FIOS termination confirmation and they still claimed it was because of my oversight and not theirs. The customer rep argued with me and her manager, Patty, disagreed with me. It wasn't until I harped on the issue for 40 minutes until they rebilled me. However, they still claimed it was my mistake, not theirs. How is it, that if you click on 'I'm moving', they can get away with interpreting that as, I'm moving, but I still want my TV service and not my internet?? The manager argued with me about that saying, "Well, I've had a family who had a son move out and they didn't need internet, but still wanted their TV package intact. REALLY!!. So, when I click on 'moving', I have to explain further that only a part of my family is moving and I'm staying put? Real bad service! Offer 1gb Internet but can only give you 100mbs. Service tech states they have over 500mbs in area . Called verizon rep told me I could have 250 mbs for 80.00 per month. When I am supposed to have 1 gb for 39.95 per month. Fios TV is bad. Remove channels with no credit to customers. They just removed The Blaze channel from line up. Stay away from fios. read more

My contract is about to expire and I received a letter in the mail that said that if I signed a new agreement I would receive a free year of Amazon Prime and an Amazon Alexa (2nd Generation) with my new agreement. I called Fios, spoke to a gentleman on the phone and discussed a new package. After finding out that the rates have gone up, and the TV channels have changed and what I had for years previously is no longer included and will cost me extra he got me a deal that was "close" to what I pay now. I went on to ask about the promotion with Amazon and was told that it doesn't apply to the package that I received. WHAT?! He said there are restrictions. While I recognize that, I carefully read the "fine print" which clearly states " limited time offer for existing TV & internet customers subscribing to a triple play or double play (w/TV) bundle" Well, I have the triple play and signed a new agreement for a triple play so how come it doesn't apply to me? Well he doesn't know but in order for me to get it I have to subscribe to a bundle that costs $30 more per month. Classic bait and switch people!! I should have know that it was too good to be true! I will reach out the the Better Business Bureau next and let them sort out Verizon's shady business/advertising practices. I have called too many times to remember and still have not received an answer. I have what they call their upgrade equipment...and on two of my cable boxes that THEY set up wirelessly the signal is weak and freezes multiple time a day. 1. If you have a technical problem, they don't send someone out, they want to give you instructions over the phone so you can fix the problem yourself. In my case, the Verizon battery and the box you have to fiddle with is attached to my basement ceiling which is very awkward to reach. 2. They raise the rates frequently. 3. They are happy to get your business but after a few years they treat their customers like garbage because they figure you won't want to switch to Cablevision. I have had FIOS for 8 yrs but a few months ago they cut off about 1/3 of my basic cable channels such as Cooking Channel and DIY Network, while increasing my rate to $220 a month. When I call to ask why they say sorry, your former package was discontinued so you have to take our crappiest package if you don't want to have your bill go up even more. read more

I had FIOS in my previous home for 7 years and only had 2 technical problems, which were fixed promptly. I moved and FIOS was not available until just recently, so I signed up for their services, hoping to have the same good experience. NOT! I've had it less than a month and had several problems with my telephone service (several CSRs and technicians lied about it not being a problem) and now my cable service. They told me one of my 2 week old boxes was defective and had to be replaced. They promptly FedExed me a new one and I spent 4 hours re-setting it, and when I went to call UPS to pick up the old box (FIOS provided a pre-printed label) I was told UPS would charge me $12! When I called FIOS and was told that was their policy (I got nowhere even with a supervisor) and that if I couldn't get to a UPS Store, maybe a neighbor or friend could do it for me! Now I remember the absolutely frustrating Verizon customer service experience and am really sorry that they haven't improved it after all these years. I'm seriously considering returning to Comcast, which has its own problems, but at least their customer service is exceptional. read more

I am a Verizon customer of 9 years. This month, Verizon removed $35 of ongoing monthly discounts on my account without notice or reason. $20 of that discount is set to expire o 3/8/21, $15 has no expiration date. On 2/16/20 I called to complain my DVR service was still not working after a tech had come the month prior to repair unsuccessfully, and asked how much to remove. I did not place any new order. However, Sherry at Verizon "placed a new order" keeping my service exactly the same except removing all my discounts! I immediately responded to the email stating i absolutely was not placing a new order and was not authorizing any change to my account. I confirmed with Patrice a superviosr 2/17/20 and she credited my account $7.20 and she assured me no change was made, no new order, discounts intact. On March 9, a new bill was issued which I received 3/17/20 with the exact same service but the discounts removed. I called and complained to Alicia on 3/17/20 who was able to restore $20 ongoing monthly discount to 3/8/21 but was unable to restore the $15 ongoing monthly discount that had no expiration date. She asked for help from a supervisor Doug who also could not restore the discount. no one at Verizon seems capable of correcting their billing errors, provide DVR service that actually works, and they invent orders no one places. this is not the first time in 9 years this kind of malarkey has occurred. Doug actually refused to give me an email address to send him my email from last month stating I did not place any order and to leave everything EXACTLY the way it is, not remove the discounts!! who would ask Verizon to remove their discounts?!! read more

After my original review, I found some other reviews and one included the email for the CEO of Fios. I thought it couldn't possibly work but I wrote to the email anyway. The next day I received a call from the head of customer relations out of NYC. She was more than understanding of the issues I was having and first offered to waive my cancellation fee. I told her if she could provide a solution to my original problem of being promised a router for the upgraded speed at no charge, I would prefer that since it was where all my frustrations had started. I was weary if that was the right move considering I had been lied to and manipulated on every phone call prior to this one. However, I was pleasantly surprised when she followed through with resolving the issue and continued to follow up with me several times and made sure that I was happy with how things were resolved. I am very satisfied that my complaint was heard and solved, however it would have been much easier to not have been manipulated from the beginning. I guess they expected me to give up and when I didn't, I got to the right people so I was provided a resolution. Now that I have the new router and faster speed, all is working well. read more
