3.5 Stars for the Patchogue Corporate-owned Verizon Store. This is one of the two corporate-owned Verizon stores in central Suffolk County. It is located in the Gateway Shopping Center where the other one is at the Smith Haven Mall. When my brother and I stayed at my dad and stepmother's house, the family puppy who is in the teething stages scratched my brother's brand new Galaxy S21. Fortunately, only the screen protector was damaged. Being that my brother needed to a new screen protector I encouraged him to buy an Otterbox Defender for his expensive phone. After walking in the Holtsville Ecology Center with my family, my brother and I made a quick trip here with the purpose of picking up a Galaxy S21 Otterbox Defender while my dad and stepmother waited in the car. Due to the Covid-19 protocols there was limited capacity. We waited a couple of minutes to enter the store. The Manager on Duty greeted us and from that point on would help my brother find a screen protector and install it. I believe that his name was Michael. He was helpful and professional. For a corporate-owned Verizon, it seemed smaller than the majority that I have been to. And missing in action were Otterbox Defender cases for the Galaxy S21. How can a Verizon Corporate store not carry an Otterbox Defender case for a high end Flagship phone when businesses such as Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart sell them? Some of the screen protectors seemed to cost a few dollars less than the Otterbox Defender. Additionally I saw very little power banks. A secondary purpose of the visit was for me to check out power banks. My brother was left to buy a screen protector which the professional Manager on Duty carefully placed on my brother's Galaxy S21. While he put the screenprotector on, we met another friendly Verizon Associate who told us that he lived in Las Vegas where my brother and I were returning to in a week. If this were my phone and my dad and stepmother were not waiting in the car, I would have walked to Best Buy to inquire if they carry the Otterbox Defender. I would think they would since I brought one from Best Buy for my Galaxy phones. In my opinion an Otterbox Defender is a must when getting a phone, and before leaving the store I will direct them to put one on. Having a Best Buy a few stores down is advantageous considering that it creates competition for smartphones and accessories. Additionally if Verizon cannot detect a smartphone issue, there is a possibility that the Best Buy Geek Squad can. Isn't competition a great thing? I rate the Patchogue Verizon-owned store 3.5 stars. In my opinion they ought to be selling must-have accessories such as the Otterbox Defender for the Flagship Galaxy S21 and more power banks instead of a merchandising emphasis on pricy screen protectors. My phone had installed an eSIM and it is not a fully developed technology, the phone shuts down all the time, it is 90% all the time showing SOS and I have to turn it off and then turn it back on but most of the times doesn't work that stupid trick. read more

My sister and I had a great experience with mark the general manager at this location! He was very knowledgeable and understanding. We were switching from Verizon and had trouble starting a new plan online. It was a bit of a process to fix but mark helped us figure it all out and actually made it a fun experience. Every time I've gone into a phone store for AT&T I would be treated with frustration, so it was a nice change. I'm so happy we switched to Verizon! read more

Well, the fast talking sales person convinced me my plan would be less if I purchased a "free" tablet. It sounded too good to be true. It was. It's costing me $10/month for a a tablet that doesn't hold a charge and is too slow to use if it did. Steer far away from this store. The only person that is of any help is the manager Zach. No matter what do NOT use the business rep Aston, she misled us into a business plan on black Friday claiming to save us money on our bill each month. We have saved nothing ! Instead we have been increased in our monthly bill, got sold into a tablet we didn't want or need which we are now stuck with, and spent the last 6 months since black Friday 2018 to correct our bill because she didn't properly do her job. After 4 visits to the store, multiple hours on the phone with many managers , we were told to either leave Verizon wireless or deal with the screw up and take the higher bill each month. This has to be the worse customer service and business experience i have ever received. This is "legally stealing" and getting away with it. read more

I receive Verizon "High Speed" internet via a landline phone connection. The cable that links the phone jack to the modem needed to be replaced. I visited this store and was made to wait outside in the cold and rain (without a jacket) for a long time. When the door finally opened, I asked the staffer for a landline cable. He said he didn't stock anything like that. When I asked him where I could get one, he said he didn't know. A stranger passing by told me to go to Best Buy. I did so and immediately found the cable. I don't know what happened to Verizon employees at this store but they were useless when I went there a couple of days ago. Simple question ..." my daughters phone is showing up as no service " the Verizon guy tells me... I can't fix it, you'll have to buy a new phone. You only have $86 left on it to pay" that was not the right answer. So next day I went to Best Buy, right next to them. The Geek Squad was extremely helpful. Was blessed to be able to have somebody willing to take as much time as he did to explain to me the in and outs of icloud, setting up my new iphone SE, and other important information. Never got awkward or offended when I told him no to other offers, but was completely caring and helpful in all he did. Awesome dude with God gifted human communication and abilities to not only be "a guy who works for Verizon", but also a relatable human being by telling me a little about his life, his daughter, and his experiences. I have been paying Verizon for "high speed internet" via DSL for years. Yesterday I downloaded Windows 11, which took a full 17 hours. This morning, I found that the installation was faulty. The computer, which is brand mew, could not be used for anything. I contacted Microsoft and they could not fix the problem. The speed test they conducted indicated that my connection is not only unusually slow but is also unstable. Microsoft then erased the download and restored me to Windows 10. This took a additional 2 hours today, bringing the whole process to 19 hours. They advised me to contact Verizon and share the findings with them, requesting the speed I am paying for. I did so just now and Verizon, while admitting that their service is too slow, demaded that I upgrade my service at an unspecified additional cost. This is unacceptable. I am paying for "high speed internet". All I want is what I am paying for via legal contract. read more

wow...went in to upgrade my phone, and drop a line. after 3 hours in the store I left with no phone service. Called customer service and they needed like 10 minutes to put my phone back on....the people in this store are idiots and have no customer service skills at all....instead of saying the could not help me, they passed me around to 4 different people over 3 hours and messed things up badly...now I will pay the termination fees to drop 2 lines from Verizon wireless and find another carrier. Saleswoman didn't disclose that with the edge plan, you are paying the FULL PRICE of the phone, unless you upgrade halfway through the payments. $800 is a price you disclose! New plan is a scam. She also disconnected my unlimited data during the void of the transaction, for which now I have to call and get reinstated. Most unhelpful store I've been in. Went to go get a new phone with three emails with instructions from customer service. The store Manager Brian was more like a bouncer and refused to honor the deal they offered me! And, the salesman even ruder went in the back to show him the emails, and because they were linked to my computer, he deleted them from my phone and my computer! Worst experience I've had in a long time! I would give 0 starts but it wont allow me to. I went in to get a new phone and the "salesperson" tried getting me to switch my family's plan from Beyond to one of the new ones, telling me EVERYTHING about the plan was exactly the same, I was going to actually be saving money and they were going to give me the iPhone 12 AND an Ipad for less than the price of the iPhone 11 on the Apple website. While switching over the plan, I received a text saying my Apple Music was no longer a part of this new plan. She saw the text come in and took my phone, saying she needed the device # and when I mentioned the text, she just told me it was nothing and Verizon is just sending texts because we were changing over the plan. If I went with the "new plan" I would've lost our free Apple Music on all 4 of the phone lines we have! I asked to be switched back to Beyond and she gave me an attitude. I wound up getting the iPhone 12 but the price of that went from $500 to $800 because I wasn't going on their new plan. Before I left I tried making a call and she had my phone shut off already! Again, she lied and said she didn't but I couldn't text or call until I went home and set up my new phone. When I asked her for her name she told me it was Alicia, but once again, this was not true. I'm so glad I went to this store because earlier in day I went to tiny Verizon store elsewhere and sales associate didn't know what was wrong with my phone and said I probably need to buy new phone which I don't wanna do since my phone is fairly new. I am grateful I went to Patchogue Verizon. The sales associates that helped me there were named Hector and a guy named Jason. I am 74 years old, and all I need or want is a old fashioned flip phone that I bought in early September of this year at this Verizon store. After a week, the display on the front did not show the time any longer. It showed what looked like a half of a leaf. Did not realize it was broken until my son told me to bring it back. It was never dropped or mishandled in any way, I brought it back to the store today presuming there was at least a 30 day warrantee. The phone itself works. Verizon Rep said since I did not take insurance it was not covered. I have had a broken Cuisinart coffee pot (cost more than a flip phone) that broke and was replaced free after having it almost a year. Verizon rep told me to get insurance and try filing a claim. It's not the meager cost of the insurance, it was the principle of Verizon not backing up a product you bought at their store. I walked out very unhappy, will decide when I get a deal with sprint or at&t, I will get the latest model non flip phone! read more

Be aware of Verizon misleading ad. Saw an ad about 400 Mb for 59.99 /month with free installation, eager to sign up, schedule installation date about a month later (before my current contract with Optimum expired), and carefully save the chat log with sale rep. Then no one came, call Verizon (every time spend more than 1 hour waiting to talk to human), only find out It is a self installation, but there is no kit nor instruction ever sent to my hours. I get charged for the whole month of June ( starting the date I signed. After hours of long waiting and frustration, Verizon solution: still charge me the whole of June and send their tech for installation, but charge for the installation because now it is a repair, not a new installation. Their staffs (both chat and phone) were like machine, showed no concern nor listen to my story, even I showed then the original chat log. I did not use a bit data, but still get charged for the whole month, now I have to pay for installation which can go up to $200. Getting enough, I cancel the whole thing, and accept to pay a month of service ,but they told me that I have to wait for them to send the final bill. Now more than a month later, just receive a bill from Verizon with 139.9. Called customer service (after wait for more than 1 hour to talk to A HUMAN, to find out that I cancel just 1 day into new bill cycles, now it is two month bill plus $20 late fee. Final the customer service (her name is Lin) listened to my story, and looked at my record, agree to waive a late fee and 1 month of July. I still have to pay $59.99 for a the month of June. I pay immediately over phone with surcharge of $3.00. I learned my lesson, 1) Verizon Ad is misleading. 2) when you first come to Its site, the human sale rep eager actively come to you, once you become customer, Verizon let machine handle you, make it so hard for you to have your problem solved. 3) most of their human customer (except Lin) are heartless. Never ever come use Verizon again, I will keep telling people about my story, to tell them stay away fro Verizon. It is just a giant decepted Machine. Was looking to upgrade my iPhone, Alan basically tried to rip me off adding on accessories that I didn't want! He said that I had to pay the tax up front, no problem, the price went from $175, I said why so much, he said well you need a case and some other crap, told him no! Ok, then the price dropped to $140, then I said ok, he then says it should cost about $200, I said you just told me $140. What a jerk. Turns out, I went Best Buy, same phone $69 out the door. Can I give less than 1 star? New iPhone6 stopped working 3 days after getting it. Brian tried saying my iCloud must have a defect making phone shut down, and then claimed running day before caused water damage even though nothing on phone showed anything. He stared me down and was rude and short telling me to go to apple or their going to charge me $700 for a new phone. Went to apple and they said that Verizon always does that- doesn't want to help their customers and they should've switched the phone. She confirmed that no marks at all on phone showed any signs of damage. Horrible experience!!! read more
