I have a home in Ocean Beach on fire Island in New York. I upgraded my Verizon FiOS Internet to…read moretheir 1 GB speed at the beginning of the summer. Even with a direct ethernet connection I was only able to get approximately a speed of 450 MB, half of what I should be getting. After having a number of visits by a Verizon technician he said he was unable to solve the problem and they would need to send their super sleuth to figure it out. I had spoken with this technicians supervisor and their super sleuth a number of times over a four to six week period and the problem has never been solved and they no longer return my phone calls or texts. I have had terrible service all summer and when you have numerous people coming out to your beachhouse and all trying to connect at the same time it is a disaster. The service has been terrible at this point and I do not believe it has anything to do with Covid.
