It was in a pleasant way though, without being too pushy. Now here's the problem. Even though all of these pieces were unique and amazingly wonderful, they are not affordable. My question is, of all the people milling about, how many sales have you had? How many did you sell yesterday? This stuff is very high end and yes, I would love to have a piece in my house but it's just not gonna happen. In the end, it's left to the filthy rich in the area who are able to drop $5,000 or so on a dining room table. Yes, they deliver but at those prices I hope it's free and includes set up.

Right there where it usually says "Post," says "Sign Up and Post." I think we just learned where I get my stellar powers of observation. Yelp has a big rule about writing reviews of things you haven't personally experienced and/or for other people who are so tech savvy they can't find the sign up button, but I am able to reconcile this rule with one fact: I lived, for 16 years, in the house where Lisa's work was held. Instead of writing out what my mother wrote, I'm going to write what *I* felt about it. And I give this an emphatic five stars. When Lisa was painting our bamboo forest mural, I'd wish she stopped halfway through right up until the very end. When we visited Hawai'i, the majestic bamboo forests that would lead you onto a beach with clear blue water is like something out of a dream. Instead of nightmares, I'd dream about that - and walking down the hallway or entering the foyer from the front door, I was constantly staring into this half finished bamboo forest with a blueish background so beautiful that you could hear the waves crashing gently onto the sand. At the very end, she filled in the forest with more trees that were as wonderful as the last she painted. My ocean was...gone, in a sense, but it felt like if I just peeled back the incredibly realistic looking bamboo, it would be there again. We have a few of her portraitures hanging up in the house. It's as if the person is looking back at you. Her work is fantastic. Let her do her thing and you absolutely will not be disappointed...even if halfway through you want her to stop.

Came here for the community aspect as they hosted one of many locations for a town wide community cocktail walk was going on. We sipped cardamom-lemon vodka here as featured by a local restaurant. While there we chatted with the shop employees who were very nice. While sipping we browsed the studio looking at are pieces by local artists which can be purchased. A perfect example of supporting small business and local art. Push/Pull lives up to their statement being a part of and promoting the community. There is a fair amount art supplies here - including but of course not limited to Sketch books, brushes, glazes, paints, easels and more. They offer classes and have info about events going, so if you're an artist and want to be in more 'in the know' it may be worth checking out Push/Pull simply for that. I hope Push/Pull continues to be a part of the neighborhood!

I received a pair of beautiful oil paintings as a gift from the artist. They arrived rolled up in a tube, and I spent a lot of time shopping around Seattle for a good way to preserve and display them. I checked out 7 shops here in the north/central part of Seattle. None were bad, but this place stood out for a few reasons: 1) SF&MG was more thorough than other places about discussing all of my options in different price ranges, and was patient and honest explaining things I didn't know about custom framing. 2) The frame suggestions were excellent. Peter's sharp eye, and perhaps SF&MG's inventory, produced a design that was unrivaled by any other shops. The scheme he suggested complimented my unusual paintings beautifully, and was impossible to recreate -- much less improve upon -- with other vendors. 3) Most of these places guarantee their prices, but SF&MG underbid their competitors (for standard stuff like getting the canvas onto the stretcher board) without even having to be told what their competitors quoted. 4) I'm really happy with the workmanship. The paintings look great, though of course I can't compare this to the shops I didn't choose... So, I have only one data point but so far so good with Simply Frames & Miner Gallery.

I visited here after seeing Ballard Locks since it was nearby and one of the few places open until…read more6pm. It was recommended online as a place to see glass art. When I arrived, what looked like the main entrance was locked. However a side entrance was open. One lady greeted me in a friendly manner and asked what brought me to the gallery. I let her know I saw a review that mentioned glass art, and she directed me behind a wall to view it. However, when I walked in the direction she pointed to, another lady very quickly walked up beside me and stood very uncomfortably close to me as I walked. I asked her if the glass art was behind the wall and she confirmed in a very unfriendly manner while still maintaining a very rudely close distance. When I saw the limited glass art behind the wall I asked her if I could take a picture and she had to think before she said in a very cold and thick European accent that she didn't know and I could find pictures online at the artists website if I wanted. I told her she was incredibly rude and I felt very uncomfortable. She tried to say that she was new so she didn't know while still keeping ridiculously close to me while I walked so I just walked out of the gallery. Don't waste your limited vacation time here. It put me in a very bad mood and it's out of the way enough and inconvenient with traffic that I really regret stopping by. I've stopped by a number of other galleries that were welcoming so you wouldn't miss anything by skipping this gallery.
