Last month my wife took the crochet class with her sister to learn some basics of crotchet. But while there, she saw the "Make a glass and bead windchime" class so signed us both up. Today was the class - and I have to say it was a lot of fun! They provide all the "parts and pieces and tools to do the job" and seemed really well prepared for us. We each made our own windchime ($35 or so each - very reasonable). The instructions were simple to follow, with lots of assistance on anything that wasn't clear. I was the only guy in the room, but it was a lot of fun - I helped some of the ladies use the crimp tools to crimp the nylon line used in the windchime's construction. Loved the results - it was a fun time spent - really nice folks. Anne ended up buying another kit to take home. If you like doing crafting things, just stop in and see what's on the schedule for upcoming events - and of course they also have "pre-made" items for sale as well for home or gifts. And I supported it wholeheartedly despite sometimes finding items slightly cheaper elsewhere. Additionally, as an art educator I always suggested it to my students for their value, as well as excellent and knowledgeable customer service. Unfortunately, I'm very disappointed to say both superb customer service and cost value are gone. Firstly, I learned from my students that student discount was no longer available. Then after my last visit, I was stunned how much the prices have increased. Still, I remained a dedicated patron. After coming home I realized one of the expensive wooden panels had a substantial gouge in the corner - simply too noticeable to try fixing. I confidently returned to the store but was told they would not take back the damaged items - because they couldn't verify it was damaged before my purchase. The associate was unbearably rude and dismissive. One my way out I expressed my profound disappointment with the current direction of this trusted business with another associate, only to have the associate I originally spoke with catch up with us. Now they changed their song, saying they could accept the damage item but I was very lucky because it's not something they always do. What?! The associate appeared to be making up policies as they went along. In the end I kept the damaged wooden panel, as I will keeping my business away from this place.

The worker that helped us was sweet but it was her last day. We spent about 3 hours there. The worker mentioned that on average people spend about an hour there for their first time. Our pieces were a little more intricate so it took a little longer. For 5 pieces it was $200 total. Our pieces were ready for pickup in 7 days because they have to fire it. They can also ship your pieces. Tip: Look up some inspo online/pinterest before you go in. Also I traced the fruits on my phone because I'm not good at drawing.

The kids all had a great time painting portraits of Squishmallows, which they all got to take home with them after the party. The instructor, Noga was helpful and encouraged the kids to express their own creativity while still providing guidance. All of our guests have expressed to me how wonderful the party was! We are looking forward to returning to Sit and Kit to try out more of the many fun projects they have displayed throughout the studio!
