Was driving through Princeton, and there isn't exactly a large selection of restaurants to choose from. The reviews looked fine. The building itself is decent, so I figure I'm safe ok on this one. I walk in, and it says please wait to be seated. The two waitresses ignore me. I wait about 5 minutes then seat myself at the bar. This was my first mistake. I should have just left then. One of the waitresses comes over and gives me the menu, I ordered the crispy fish sandwich off the specials menu. Something simple and fast so I can get back on the road. 15 minutes later, the waitress comes over and apologizes for the wait, the kitchen is just finishing it up, should be out in two minutes and I've given you a discount on the food. Fair enough. I appreciate her coming to tell me. I understand. Stuff happens in a kitchen. 10 minutes later, she comes up to me and says there's been a mix-up in the kitchen, but they're making my food now, and it'll be out shortly. This is the second mistake of not leaving. 10 minutes later my food comes up. It looks tasty enough. I eat a couple fries, and they're disgusting. They are soaked in oil, and weren't drained properly when they were taken out of the fryer. Soggy. I disregard them. I pick up my burger, and they've out so much sauce on the top and bottom of the bun, the bun starts to disintegrate in my hands. I manage to bite into it, and the batter is so thick its past crispy, and is hard. Didn't bother with another bite. It's a pity you can't give negative stars. Next time I'll eat at the a&w or grab a sandwich from the gas station. At least you know what kind of disappointment you are in for there. read more

I found this restaurant using Yelp when we arrived in Princeton for my mother in laws birthday. The restaurant was very clean and the service was excellent. I am in a Gluten free family and was surprised to find GF items on the menu, that is a big thumbs up for me. Not recommend at all First not enough seating for 6 people We get seated, waitress than warns us about how backed up kitchen is The wait will be 30 minutes at least.. We thought what if we order appies ? And put our order in now.. She ok 45 minutes later we get our appies Drinks were not a problem though she kept them coming.. I went two days ago. (My Mom is in hospital.) I ordered the lumber jack burger and onion rings. First of all the waitress took about ten minutes to talk and laugh with friends. Then came and took my order. I waited a quite a bit for my greasy onion rings which I ate first. I admit I ate them all because I was so hungry and they cool down so quickly. By the time I finished them I didn't want the burger. So I had it wrapped up to take with me. Well I suppose it was my fault for not eating it right away...it totally fell to pieces before I even got to the meat. They seem to be crazy about the aioli sauce. I have eaten other cold (right out of the fridge.) Just a word of caution ask them to go light on the sauce. Perhaps don't order anything deep fried. Those are my recommendations. read more

We were staying at the Sandman so we tried out the Vermilion. They were About to close but let us sit anyway. We ordered burgers and the chicken souvlaki. The fries were amazing and hand cut. The chicken was well flavoured and the servings were large.The burgers were huge and handmade a lovely brioche buns. My son loved the cookies. They have a nice selection of local BC beers on tap. I was really surprised to see such a low rafting on this place - we had a GREAT experience today. If there was an issue before, they've cleared it up. My boyfriend had the very generously proportioned beef dip sandwich and fries, I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup. Both were very tasty and perfect for a stopover on a rainy day. My mother has a heart condition and can eat no salt or dairy AT ALL, which can be an issue at even very fancy and pricey spots. This restaurant grilled her a lovely steelhead with no trouble at all. Everybody left very full, very warm, and very happy. We love this place, and will be back next time we are road tripping from Vancouver to Penticton! read more

We gave the Vermillion Fork a try based on a very good local recommendation and were pleased with the meal: we both had the roast chicken with garlic potatoes and were surprised at the quality - would be good in any setting. The waitress could not have been more friendly and helpful, and we left intending to be back soon and explore more of the offerings. If there was one drawback, it was the rather dark room, which we did find uncomfortable to settle into. Some more pictures, lighting on the table - anything to warm things up. Visiting the area for a few days I stopped in at this restaurant for dinner. The look of the place is quite posh for small town Princeton with rather posh pricing. I ordered the 'Pulled Chicken Club' with fries. It was ok. I asked for no onions and was informed that request could not be granted. So I'm guessing they pre-mix the club part. I was surprised at how long I waited for a sandwich and fries. The people I was with ordered salads and wings. The waitress actually forgot the wings. When we did get the wings they were actually really good. I probably wouldn't eat here again. If I did, I think I would stick to just wings. read more

We stopped here for lunch today on our way through Princeton. With no data on our phones (we are visiting from the US), we had to find a place to eat without the help of the internet! This restaurant was on the main drag and looked quite nice. And the food was quite good, too. I had the chicken burger (a grilled chicken breast sandwich) and my husband had the grilled cheese with tomato basil soup. Both meals were very good. The chicken breast was not overcooked and the grilled cheese was made with good bread and cheese. The tomato soup was delicious. The service was promote and efficient and very friendly. The goat cheese with berries appetizer was really good. Probably the best berry compote I've had in a while and the naan it came with was toasted to perfection. Lots of roasted garlic on the warm goat cheese was a good complement to the berries. Really nice. It was a very large dish. The fish tacos were okay. I can' think what I didn't like: the fish was great, the slaw was tasty. It may have been the corn tortillas or the garlic aioli. Great little spot to stop for a bite. Food was fresh, restaurant was clean and had a very welcoming atmosphere. My husband and I leave the city to go to Osoyoos in the summer and the food along the way is not great... We found this spot on Yelp and gave it a try. Nice clean restaurant with a good menu. I did get mashed instead of the fries I ordered but they where good anyway. The coslaw they have was excellent and different then what you normally get. Portions are good, prices are reasonable. My 1/2 rack of ribs was huge, but tasted kind of like subway ribs. We were driving through Princeton and stopped for a late lunch on Thanksgiving Monday. My husband ordered the turkey sandwich daily special and I had the kale and quinoa salad. Both were fantastic.
