Is this the most scenic spot in southern Vermont to stop in for a drink or make a liquor purchase? I think so! You've got breathtaking views out the window or sitting in the yard behind the store. There's even a few more breathtaking views looking across the street from the parking lot. I was going to say location is everything, but then there's the liquor. You're allowed 4 complimentary tastes. These are not large, maybe thimble sized, but you definitely get an idea of the flavors. I came here specifically for the maple whiskies (well, it IS Vermont), but I also enjoyed the cherry liqueur, something I definitely wanted for my liquor cabinet as well. I didn't purchase any of their crafted cocktails, but other customers in the store while I was there did, and they were obviously satisfied. This is a must stop for those who visiting distilleries and those who enjoy cocktails. When you step inside the friendly staff welcome you, ask if you have been in before. They then let you know you can sample 4 different spirits, my wife and I declined on this part only due to the fact we stopped at the nearby brewery first. We went right into picking our cocktails. Next time we definitely would do the sampling. Cocktail wise their current menu was broken into three different sections, those being Vodka, Bourbon, and lastly moonshine. An extra category on the bottom did include two mocktails as well. I thought the cocktails were extremely reasonable either being $11 or $13. I got their peach smash which was a really good drink utilizing their honey bourbon and peach liqueur which was balanced so well! My wife got their French martini that utilized their vodka and raspberry liqueur and came in a frosted glass. We loved both of the drinks and even though my wife typically is not a bourbon fan she liked mine. While we enjoyed our drinks inside and appreciated the atmosphere of the inside including the decor the true view is outside. Enjoy your cocktail while taking in the view, you can be on the patio or at a table or chair at the overlook. Can snap some amazing photos that's for sure! Vermont Distillers is a fun place. They let you sample four liqueurs and I liked them all, the maple being my favorite. I really enjoyed the old-fashioned. They have a nice outdoor space with gorgeous views and were welcoming toward my young nieces. You can walk to the country store from here, which is nice. Staff is very friendly and the snacks are appreciated. I'm looking forward to returning. read more

If you're looking for a spot for a nice cocktail and a beautiful view, look no further! Stop in for a tasting, or grab a drink on the deck. They sell a variety of liqueurs, bourbons, & vodka. They are also dog friendly, which is a huge plus! My personal favorite is their limoncello. I've had limoncello in Italy, and this is the closest I've found in the US. If you're there in the summer months, you have to snag a bottle while you can! Behind the distillery, there's trail that you can hike in the summer, or snowmobile in the winter. This was my first time visiting here! The staff was super friendly and informative, they offered samples of all the liqueurs so you could try them before ordering a drink. I ordered the apple pie moonshine cocktail as I wish for fall to arrive, and it was refreshing and tasty! There were some small tables inside but the rest were located on a deck outside and with a fabulous view. The Vermont Maple cream is their most sought after liqueur and it's not surprising after you try it. Great place to visit to hang with friends or family for some drinks and a nice view! read more

We hiked up to Mount Olga and on the way back we stopped at the distillery to check it out. I had a couple of tastes, maple bourbon, maple liqueur and maple cream. All were outstanding but the maple liqueur and the maple cream were to die for. I would have tried more but was running out of time. So now I have an excuse to go back. This distillery has the most amazing view of the mountains and valleys. They have an outside deck to relax and sip on your cocktail. A great selection of liqueurs, gins and a maple bourbon. I like trying and supporting small-batch, locally-produced spirits. However the lack of customer service here was enough to turn me off and leave. When I walked in a young woman was opening or breaking down boxes. She did not get up and greet me until I walked around little bit to check out the signage. Finally she uttered, "What can I do for you?" Really? You don't want to say "Oh WELCOME! So glad you are here. Would you like to try any of our spirits, which are made right here--here let me show you a bit more" She seemed completely uninterested, and had non-extensive knowledge of the products. While I my original intention was to stay and have a cocktail, I felt pretty uncomfortable staying there when she didn't offer much knowledge or detail. I asked "so are they made here?" "Yep, downstairs." period. It was as cringey as trying to make conversation with a dentist patient or a really bad first date. All three teensy tiny sips of the three signature bourbons were good. I would stay for the view and the liquor, but not if the staff are unwelcoming and as taciturn as she was. I love this little spot! They have a setup in the gift shot on top of a hill and their spirits are out of this world... the berries and flavors are insanely good and the staff is so fun and helpful. Make sure you try it all, my favorite was the raspberry personally but the Maple Cream Liquor stole my soul and cast it into a heaven for judgement by angry and jealous syrup gods. You get the point. We stopped in here on a VERY foggy morning and were super disappointed that we missed the view we'd heard about. The young woman working was still setting up for the day when we walked in and barely acknowledged us. She also wasn't wearing a mask. Later, she put one on, but then had it down around her chin again. We ordered coffee cocktails with the maple cream liquor that were very yummy. Afterwards, we asked to sample some of the different bourbons and ended up buying several bottles. We came back again the next day (a clear afternoon) to catch the view. We got more cocktails (this time hot cider) and sat outside, but we wished they'd had the heaters on, as it was pretty chilly! The view was definitely worth coming back for. The same woman was working and again was not wearing a mask at all while preparing the drinks. Overall, the view and the spirits are worth the trip, even if the service isn't great.
