We stayed late summer, 2025. The woman who checked us in was very friendly. The cabin we rented was cute, but I came home with an awful case of bedbugs. The bathrooms and "kitchen" were filthy, and the facilities (especially children's play areas) are in desperate need up a facelift. The pool water was cloudy, and we met a couple who were checking out early to go to another camp area. My daughter made friends with a stray dog that was roaming around and feeding off the full trash cans. It felt like we were staying at an abandoned carnival. read more

Stayed in both a trailer site and a camping cabin. Both are recommended. Camping cabin has outdoor picnic table, fire ring, and swimming porch swing (my fav). Inside there is a refrigerator, big fan, and heater- all nice additions. Only thing missing was water. Pool and amenities are nice. Bathroom is spacious and clean (so important). Sites were average. Quite a few weeds and wild mushrooms growing on our particular site. Good amount of kids and staff was great setting up scavenger hunts and activities for kids. Our boys thoroughly enjoyed their time here. We had a pull through site that was large enough to disconnect and park in front. TMobile service was spotty at best, but Starlink was good enough. Some large tree's gave us some interuptions, but Starlink was solid enough for streaming. We did not test KOA wifi so we can't comment on that. We originally booked 4-5 days but dropped in down to 2 nights as there just wasn't much to do in the area. Staff allowed us to cancel our remainder without fuss. The owner was super nice and cool!! The cabins were clean, comfortable and cool. The amenities were also great, with a fun swimming pool, mini golf, and volleyball. My little brother loves dinosaurs and he had a blast looking around the gift shop and the campsites. He did a dinosaur scavenger hunt, given to him by the owner, and he received a toy dinosaur as a reward! Very awesome epic campsite I would definitely recommend!! read more

We stayed here the week before memorial day 2021 and we had a wonderful time with our family. The store inside has some good camping gear on sale for the same price you find on Amazon which is a plus. All of the staff that we ran into went out of their way to make us comfortable and feel welcomed. I would recommend this KOA over any other RV campground in the area if you are visiting the Dinosaur National Monument. read more

They had everything you need if you're willing to pay for it. Pool and jumping pillow were free but a nominal fee for mini golf and bike or ATV rental. First time staying in a tepee which was fun but cold mid-September. They offered extra blankets and said to call in the night if we needed more. Delivered our firewood. Clean bathrooms but hardly any of the locals in Vernal wear masks even though it's a state mandate so that was concerning since I had children with me. Only 1 staff member wore a mask. read more

This KOA is in need of an overhaul. It is not well kept. The grass is overgrown throughout the park. Everything needs to be painted. They have amenities but all need TLC. Bathrooms and laundry need updating. I don't know why anyone would stay here twice. read more

This is a wonderful KOA. All types of sites seem well maintained and positioned well. We stayed in the camping cabins and they have a mini fridge as well as linens so we didn't need to unpack our sleeping bags. The tent sites all seem to have shade and wind protection. The play area was packed with kids and had all the fun elements: pool, jump pad, mini golf, etc. Staff is super friendly. Bathrooms were super clean. We will be back for sure. read more

This is a nice campground outside of Vernal. Most sites have trees. The bathrooms are clean and accessible. However, the main road is a thru street to the neighborhood to the east making this a lot less secure and monitored than other KOA's Add the lack of door codes on the bathrooms as another security concern. read more

Pay for the premium sites. Our first site, that we quickly changed from, our trailer door opened to the sewer area of our neighbor. Tammy in the office was Extremely gracious and helped us move to a new spot. We unfortunately wanted to use the pool and kid amenities our second night there but the KOA hosted a ward party for the local church. There was so many people in the pool my kids couldn't even swim across the pool without getting bumped into. When I asked why we weren't notified the employee just said well we walked around and told everyone who was in the park this afternoon. Why would I be just hanging at my trailer near Dinosaur National Monument?! Would've been nice to have be told upon check in about the mass of people coming to use the amenities that I paid for. Disappointed that we had to share the pool with people who weren't even staying in the park. read more

We stayed there for two nights and were extremely disappointed. According to their ads, they were supposed to have grass sites and I can assure you are's was not. All we had was a little bit of gravel and a heck of a lot of mud. read more

This KOA was exceptionally clean. It had lots of amenities including an outdoor kitchen. Refer to the picture. I thought that was a neat touch. As testimony to the campground cleanliness, I took a picture of the fire ring. It looks as if it has been washed down. Very friendly staff. I would definitely come back. read more

I have stayed three times while in the area for river trips - now know better - each time the price goes up and the check-in staff gets surlier - I am car camping but they require that I set up my tent or pay for an RV space. It does have lots of amenities but that's not what I want - never used the pool and their bike rental is way pricey - Wi-Fi works ok and they have electric at some of the "tent" sites but is that worth $40 ?? Men's showers were fine and the outdoor kitchen area a plus but now that I have found place to boondock I won't be back. If amenities is what you want this is probably not bad and the "plus" reviews are pretty accurate it is clean and has lots of features. The "outside" staff was nice - the store has a lot but it is pricey - I wouldn't say that you don't get your money's worth but for me the cost outweighed any benefits. read more

Front person was not kind upon the visit, almost annoyed while we asked questions about the pool. We ended up renting next door at the Resides Inn which was great and their person was so welcoming. We did notice the outdoor pool and mini golf. Place looked clean but the experience with the front desk was horrible. read more

I stayed here for 3 weeks paid daily fee due to owner not wanting to give weekly rate ..i was paying full price and was told to move to an undisirable spot...the owner says she offers military discounts. But after speaking to other visitors .i was actually paying more .. very unprofessional ,park was ok laundry room was flooded ..i believe the owner makes up prices on the fly due to it being the only park for 20 miles.. read more

Family of 4 plus our little dog stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed it! Pretty flowers all around, cute adds that make it unique, nice k-9 camp, clean laundry room and we all enjoyed the pool each night. Great base camp for DNM. We stay at a LOT o KOAs, and while this isn't the worst, it isn't the best either. The good: people are friendly, lots of amenities (pool, laundry, free showers, dog play area), clean shared areas, quite a few trees to give shade on hot summer days. The bad: RV sites are anything but level, 2 shower stalls in women's restroom and one you can't even get into because the door frame and door are broken. I felt the good outweighed the bad, but I wish at least they would have fixed the shower door (there are 4 girls in our family). read more

Website says cable TV which doesn't actually exist, but who wants to watch tv while camping anyway? Pool heater is broken and who knows how long it's been broken or when it will get fixed . Super frustrating because the water feels like it's below 50. Too hot outside and too cold in the pool. Rest of the campground is good. There's a fenced in doggy playground, jump pad/trampoline, and for an extra cost mini golf (just ok) and low ride pedal bikes. Staff is nice. read more

We got there way late, l love that you can just pick a spot and pay for it in the drop box. Easy connections to our trailer, very clean pool. The newer bathrooms are much nicer than the old ones but the old ones are still better than relying 100% on the trailer facilities with children. The bikes to rent were kind of expensive at $5.50 per half hour but my kids insisted on renting them. They've got a nice dog park (I don't have dogs but thought it was cool) Our site was very shaded, it looked like the tent sites were mostly shaded, and they had several cabins for rent. The trailer areas with the deluxe patio sets were a nice Touch If you'll be there for more then a day or two. Overall, will stay at KOA Vernal again if we're going to the Dinosaur National Monument again! read more

We have just posted a very positive review on Dinosaurland KOA - please read below - every word is true. 5 STAR!!! BUT .... Tonight, I witnessed the owner of this campsite, who lives in the house adjacent to the campsite, severely beat on his young dog. He carried him by the collar up the steps as the dog yelped and he yelled at him and he hit him hard 4 or 5 times, before he dropped him down. I will NEVER stay in any campsite owned by this man. It's so unfortunate too, because we were so impressed with the campsite itself. This was our review: "Dinosaurland KOA was our first experience at a KOA Campsite in years. We were greeted by the most wonderful and friendly people - Cora and George - who we understand have only been here for two years. We were brought to our site, almost perfectly level, and with not only full hookups but also cable tv and wifi. Our site was grassed, with a nice patio and a privacy screen. The showers were clean, with great water pressure - way better than any State or National Park we've been to. The staff were so helpful with anything we needed - from directions to all the must-see sites to buying gifts from the store and even propane. We are traveling from Canada and this place sold us on trying out other KOA Campsites - hopefully they are all as good as we continue our two month trek through the US." read more

It's hard to find anything positive about this place when after we exited our RV we found 3 piles of dog shit on our already cramped narrow site. I found the men's bathroom acceptable but the ladies in our party found the women's showers dirty. Our site was patches of mud, grass, and gravel. The fellow that showed us to our site was friendly and talkative, a good guy. However, I would avoid if you have other options. So in summary: 1. site was not clean, 2. bathrooms dirty, 3. RV site exceptionally narrow, and 4. site was muddy. read more

This is a nice place. If you book a patio site, (Recommended), you get a nice long pull through and plenty of room between neighbors. Views are good around park. very convenient to the many nearby natural attractions. Lite gravel, mostly dirt sites that could be messy in the rain. dry while we were there. owners/staff really fine folks. We had a mechanical problem happen as we set up and needed to stay 10 days vs our planned 3 nights awaiting a part and repair. They were terrific, accommodating and kind. And this happened over a holiday weekend when they were crazy busy. Stay here and visit Dinosaur National Monument and other great places. read more

No hot water in the shower. Couldn't get the wifi to work. Was quoted a price then charged more because it was a holiday. Won't stay here again and would advise you not to. Expected more got my money. read more

Staff was great, extremely helpful and friendly. A little pricey though for spotty wifi and snowy cable tv. Park was clean but landscaping needs a little work especially the grass in rv area. Dirt roads and spaces should be paved. At 50 bucks a night things could be better. read more

As well as anyone,I know customer service and what is expected. Being the manager of a local motel, I can tell you that customer service is not their strong point at this KOA. Year after year, I have stayed here, always thinking that the hosts and staff would improve but they don't, so we won't be back. It doesn't matter if you rent a cabin or a tent site, without fail, here they come to double check to see who all is staying and if you have visitor passes. Nothing is every friendly or nice. They make you feel unwelcome. This year was the second year that we decided to have our family reunion down there. We rented the pavillion and then we had family staying with campers and motorhomes. My mom who did all the reserving of the pavillion was questioned whether or not she had paid. They didn't have any record of her paying. We have to stop our activities, she has to go find her checkbook and take her carbon copy check to the office and show them that she paid back in April. Terrible and unfriendly service and staff.
