We stayed here the week before memorial day 2021 and we had a wonderful time with our family. The store inside has some good camping gear on sale for the same price you find on Amazon which is a plus. All of the staff that we ran into went out of their way to make us comfortable and feel welcomed. I would recommend this KOA over any other RV campground in the area if you are visiting the Dinosaur National Monument.

    Outdoor kitchen.

This KOA was exceptionally clean. It had lots of amenities including an outdoor kitchen. Refer to the picture. I thought that was a neat touch. As testimony to the campground cleanliness, I took a picture of the fire ring. It looks as if it has been washed down. Very friendly staff. I would definitely come back.

Hiking at DNM, only takes maybe 20 minutes to get there from the KOA.

Family of 4 plus our little dog stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed it! Pretty flowers all around, cute adds that make it unique, nice k-9 camp, clean laundry room and we all enjoyed the pool each night. Great base camp for DNM. Met a nice German couple who came over for dinner one night. Everything was very pleasant, including the staff.

Kids spent a lot time there during our stay and loved it! Things to note: if you're tent camping, note that there is no power. There are outlets but they aren't powered. Tent sites are also near the road so you will hear every truck passing during the night if you're not a deep sleeper. The irrigation pipes in the tent site area will cause water to flood around the base of the trees, so keep kids and pets away or they'll get a little muddy. The bathrooms are clean, but the stalls really need to be replaced. Out of the 3 stalls in the men's restroom, only 2 locked as the third was missing the locking mechanism. There's also no urinal, although there is a patched wall where it looks like there used to be one. The shower area looks nice with professionally installed tile. Enjoyed my time there, but a little renovation in the bathrooms would really make it shine. Also, I would either power the tent sites or remove the outlets.

They have hammock sites (where you could just set up hammocks to sleep in outside), teepees, RV sites, tent sites. Pretty much anything you could want. We went during the week and there was plenty of camping sites available. Though if it was full you would be right on top of your neighbors. Thankfully for us there was hardly anyone there. The camping area is not too far from the boat ramp. So it was easy to take our paddleboards and kayaks down and then drive back up and hit the water. The views here are so lovely. Really so unique. The reds and whites in the mountains and seeing all the rock layers. Make playing in the water pretty awesome. During the day there seemed to be a lot of users. Not as much as some of teh local lakes to me in Colorado but still busy. If you are wanting to rent a watercraft you would want to get there sooner rather than later. Not sure how their rental policy is working now as we brought our own kayaks and paddleboards this time. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was calm and peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely come back.

We attempted to reserve an open site by going to the webpage shown at the camp ground. We found out that reservation must be made 2 days in advance so we tried to talk to campground manager "Kenny". Kenny said we couldn't use the site because it must me done online. We explained the online booking issue and showed him that the site was open until 07/12/17. Kenny then said that he wasn't familiar with the website (posted at the campground) that we were using and we couldn't stay at the unreserved site. He did find us one next to the bathroom, the site smelled like sewage. Another guest offered the use of a site that she reserved because she wasn't going to use it. She contacted Kenny and cleared this with him. After we set up 2 tents and unloaded our gear, Kenny showed up and told us that we would have to move because we couldn't stay at a site with an "R" designation. We explained to him that the site was already paid for and walked him over to the lady that let us use it. He then became upset and said that this wasn't allowed because it was stealing. That's when I became upset and the conversation became heated. I explained that I did not appreciate being called a thief and I didn't like the way he was hounding us. Kenny even threatened to call his manager, which I welcomed because Kenny was being intentionally obtuse and not listing to reason. Once he saw that we would not back down, he backed off and even took back his statement about us stealing. I would also like to note that the male restrooms had poop all over both toilets for the entire stay. Maybe Kenny should worry about the upkeep and not hassle guests so much.
