We travel through Dublin VA several times a year, on trips to visit relatives in Western Kentucky and North Carolina, each time trying different local restaurants. This time we found a gem with a place called Veronas. it is an Italian restaurant dressed up as a Mexican restaurant with all the rustic charm. The food we ordered was very, very good. And to top it off, the waiter was charming. We definitely will stop again to enjoy the food. read more

This was tough. The exterior definitely needs some attention, landscaping is overgrown, signs are peeling and fading. It just needs so TLC. When you walk in I wasn't sure if I was in an Italian restaurant or probably more like a Mexican restaurant. It is obviously family run. The menu is very large. Unfortunately they do not serve alcohol, just wanted a beer but nope. We got 12 in cheese and pepperoni, breadsticks and meat ball sub. Pepperoni pizza was decent but would not make Dave Portnoys list by any means. The meatball sub was okay but the meatballs did not match up to the size of the bread. This hit the spot for what we needed this night but probably would not return until some upgrades. read more

Never eating there again. NEVER. Yesterday, my parents went for dine in with a guest. They were the only ones eating in (the rest was delivery.) Well, their guest got his calzone and finished eating it and their Philly cheese subs were nowhere to be seen, so dad got up and looked in to the kitchen to see a gross sight: The cook noticed him looking and grabbed a few handfuls of Philly meat to toss it on the flat grill, and up on the counter next to the meat bag WAS A HOUSE CAT. Three words. Save YOUR money! This place looks like it is unkept from the outside, and that carries on to the inside. We have tried this place three times, once we went in and twice we got delivery. Food: It was average at best. What it reminds me of is microwaved frozen food. The food was actually better when we got delivery the first time. Recommendations: There are none. The food is just bad. The service is bad. Stay away from the Phillies, pizza, wings and gyros. Location/venue: If it looks like a dump from the outside - judge a book by its cover. The first time we went in the other customer (yes, there was only one in the whole restaurant) was extremely weird and started talking to us about some off the wall stuff. We never went back. Delivery: the first time it took a while to get here, but the food was actually good (or we were hungry). The second time we ordered food they charged us for something we ordered and never received. The food took forever and we live less than 7 minutes away. The food was cold. When the driver arrived they had people in the car. We called up to the restaurant to complain about cold food and what we were missing and they did not pick up. They were still open for 20 minutes, and never answered after multiple calls. The interior is dated and a little musty but the food was really good. Gyro and a steak and cheese are what we chose and the quality of the food was great. Soda out of a bottle and ketchup out of packets made it feel a little off, but the tasty food made up for it. read more

The food was delicious! We had both Buffalo Chicken pizza and the Supreme Stromboli. I love spicy foods, and the pizza was flavored perfectly for both me and my husband who doesn't care for things to be too spicy. Both the pizza crust and the pizza sauce that we had on the side with the Stromboli tasted homemade and was delicious. The bathroom could use a little TLC, but that wouldn't keep me away. If you are in the area, check this place out for delicious pizza. I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

This has to be the best place I've ever worked. The reason it has bad reviews is because people come in and start being rude to the employees (Hint: don't do that). The owner/manager does not like it when customers are rude to his employees. If you are rude to his employees, He then will probably tell you to get out. This place does have its imperfections, but at least the owner tries to improve the restaurant so there are no more imperfections. I'm glad to call him my manager and friend. The lesson here is just don't be rude to his employees and your time here will be amazing. The food is the best I've had, especially the pizza. Great pizza!! The chef was trained in New York. This is the real deal! We got deep dish. The pizza dough was so good we could have eaten that without anything on it! But the sauce, cheese and toppings and some secret spices on top tasted great! We were sorry we got full and couldn't eat it all. We didn't want to stop! However they gave us a nice box to take it home in. This is a family run restaurant. The wife served us and her husband is the chef. The building is old and has had several restaurants in it. They had someone paint the inside to look "Italian". It looks nice. When we want pizza this is where we are going! YUM!! read more

We order take out all the time and it's always delicious and well-priced. The baked spaghetti, Philly cheesesteaks and pizzas are a few of our favorites. Friendly staff and our orders are always ready on time. Definitely worth checking them out. They've been in business for years (mostly on takeouts), so you know they're doing something right. read more

This is by far the worst customer service I have ever had. My girlfriend and I ordered delivery, we ordered a large supreme calzone that was listed as $14.99 with 2 extra marinara sauce which were $.50 and the gentleman I spoke with said it wasn't enough for delivery that we needed a $20 order. So I ordered a mozzarella stick that was listed as $5.49. When the food arrived it was $29, and when we called to question the price the woman that my girlfriend spoke to was very rude to her and said that the online menu was old and not updated. My girlfriend then asked to speak to who is in charge which incidentally was the man that delivered our food. When he was on the phone he accused my girlfriend of being racist and called her a bi***. There was a heated conversation but I assure you that there was nothing racist said. They were upset that we backed them into a corner and they knew that we caught them trying to scam us. There was a $7 delivery charge and they still expected tip. We were hung up on several times and they blatantly said they don't care about any reviews that are posted about their restaurant. Great Philly Steak and Cheese sub, friendly service

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food for the price. I had the lobster ravioli, hubby had the lasagna and the kids split a chicken and sausage calzone. You have seriously got to be kidding me with this place. I called to see how much you had to order before they would deliver, and what the delivery fee was. The woman that I was talking to said $30 at first, and then asked if it was in Dublin. I said yes and she said ok, $20 and that there was a $3 delivery charge as well. I made the comment to her that Ciro's, and Bella Pizzeria in Pulaski, only had an $8 order minimum for delivery. She made the comment to me, "Well that is Ciro's and Bella's, not us. Amazing! I was here visiting on a work trip and placed a to go order of chicken and broccoli fettuccini and chocolate mousse here. It was out of this world good! The owners were there when I picked up the order and were very friendly. If you are looking for delicious and authentic Italian, look no further! Verona's just opened on the 8th of March so I decided a couple of days ago to have lunch there. When I came in I seated myself and sat there for about 15 minutes while 2 waitresses walked right by me without even greeting me. At the same time the table next to me was getting mad because they had been waiting for 50 minutes on their food. Those people decided to leave because their food had not come out yet and they could not wait any longer. I then decided to get up and leave, as I was leaving I told the woman at the register that I had been sitting for a long time and no one has greeted me or anything, she asked me to please stay. I decided to stay. The woman that was at the register then came gave me a menu and took my drink order. I think she may have been the owner or someone like that. After she got my order, everything came out pretty fast and was pretty good. I got the spaghetti with meat sauce. I think the woman may have talked to the staff because while I was eating the waitresses kept stopping by to ask if everything was OK. If it weren't for the woman I would probably given this place 1 or 2 stars instead of 3 only because of the service. The food gets maybe 3 and a half to 4 stars. read more

This is a small family diner in Dublin, VA. It is as expected... probably a 3.5. The food was not outstanding, but it was not bad. We tried their pasta dishes, not their pizza or calzones. The menu is large. They do not serve alcohol or milk (for kids), but have coke products and lemonade. The wall decorations were cute. Their cleaner left things a little sticky, or may they need a better cleaner, but that could be just me. The music was current pop, which was kinda annoying to me. There were not many people there, so it was quiet, but it was great for us as our kids wouldn't disturb others. Yes, they have their kids in the back, but it is a small family diner, so I think that is as expected. I will definitely eat here again, especially as they are open late and deliver. read more

I've eaten at Verona's several times since they opened. On my first visit, the service was somewhat lacking but the food was awesome. My visits since the service has improved and the food is delicious! My only complaint with this establishment is the waitress who insists on showing her middle-aged cleavage. If I wanted to see boobs, I'd go to hooters. At least there the waitresses are young and pretty and not middle-aged wannabees! I ate there about two weeks ago and it was dismal. Poor service and the food was even worse. I ordered a foot long steak and cheese that was cut into one 4" piece and one 8" piece. It looked like someone had stepped on it. They used what tasted like, and had the mouth feel of, canned mushrooms. My wife ordered a lamb gyro that came ten minutes after I received my order. The bread was not soft like a pita should be, but rather it snapped when bent as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The meat was just as dry and crunchy as the bread. Had to flag down a waitress to get my drink refilled. They offered to recook my wife's sandwich, but as we were there for lunch, we didn't have the time. They should have done it right the first time. This restaurant used to be a mexican place and veronas decided they didn't need to redecorate. A little weird to be eating italian in mexican decor. As we left, my wife took time to complain to the person at the cashier's station, something I have NEVER seen her do before. She was told that they hired a cook who said they had experience but lied. No experience. I guess they are letting them go through a little ojt at the public's expense. Save your time and money and go a few hundred yards and get a sub at blimpie, or maybe another mile and get one at subway, you'll be glad you did. read more
