I had the traditional breakfast with bacon, potatoes, toast and salsa. My eggs were over medium. My husband had the traditional breakfast with ham, croissant roll and his eggs were over easy. I also ordered a pot of tea and asked if I could have a refill pot of hot water after I finished this one. The answer was yes. There are many places to see on the ferry and my next choice was the gift store. Every gift store is different. This ship didn't have the British Columbia section of books for sale, but they had nice looking clothes for men and women. I took my reading selection and finished my time next to my hubby with my cup of unfinished tea. Next trip I will provide photos.

I recommend taking Highway 1A and driving through the little towns of Chemainus (stop here if you have time, otherwise admire the many murals from your car), Saltair, and Ladysmith. 1A will take you to the Duke Point Ferry Terminal, or you can spend some time in Nanaimo and find the best Nanaimo bar (look up the Nanaimo Bar Trail and you'll find many suggestions for who sells them). Situated on a windy finger of land that shares Jack Point and Biggs Park, the ferry terminal itself is well organized and about 20+ lanes across. Buy your tickets online to save time and make sure you get to there an hour before departure. At the window, you can pay your fare or the agent will scan the prepaid barcode In your email. You are then assigned a lane. You can wait in your car or get out and walk around, grab a snack, use the restroom, take in the view, or pose with two orca statues flanking the walkway to the terminal. On the day we were there, two tents were set up with local arts and crafts. A large digital sign gave sailing information and PSAs about COVID safety. When it was time for everyone to board, an announcement was made asking us to return to our vehicles. About 10 or 15 minutes later, attendants guided us to the awaiting ferry. Everything was orderly and well organized, and I can't wait to come back.

At this point the track splits (one fork to YVR, other fork to Richmond-Brighouse), so be sure to check which fork your train is on. This information is displayed at the front of the train (both inside and outside). As this station is also a major hub for buses servicing Richmond and Delta/Tsawwassen, it can get busy.

All this time later, I unfortunately cannot complete this flight and asked if I could get a refund. The answer was no, the policy is that these flights are non-refundable. No exceptions. I asked if they can be transferred to someone else. Answer? No, they can't. I will have to forfeit my payment in full. So if I don't actually go into the system to cancel, then Harbour Air cannot sell those seats to anyone else either unless it is very last minute when I don't show up. How does this make sense to their business model? (I could easily make changes to the hotel I booked on Salt Spring Island, and they were very willing to help me.) The competition is right next door with Seair Seaplanes.

SERVICE I purchased a goGOLD return ticket between Richmond and Victoria and the process was easy online. This being my first flight with Harbour Air, I was unsure how to select seats but an e-mail to the company was quickly and professionally replied to and within 30 mins, I had my desired seat. When struggling to get to the terminal 30 mins before my flight, a call to customer service yielded another courteous and professional response and fears allayed. Check-in was also professional and before you know it, it was time to boarded, aided by yet two more professional young folks. === 3. FLIGHT Mick was the pilot on this flight - always good to have an Aussie with a relaxed attitude fly your plane. It's clearly an older aircraft but it's clean and if you're not too large (a larger fellow well over 6', 250lbs had some challenges fitting in the middle) the available legroom should be able to accommodate you. It seats about 11 passengers and your carry-ons are placed in the back by the pilot upon boarding. Tip 1: you can sit in the co-pilot's seat on the single-engine aircraft - just ask nicely and depending on the pilot, they may let you! Tip 2: if you book a goGOLD ticket, you can get advance seat selection. The left side of the aircraft has single seats while the right side as two seats (side-by-side) - it's more comfortable seated on the left side naturally. You watch a two-minute safety video via iPad placed at the front and then you're on your way! The flight is 30 minutes or less between Vancouver and Victoria and it features great views from below 5,000ft for the entire journey. Earplugs are available for those sensitive to louder noises (like the main propeller). === 4. TERMINAL It's an older building and it's adjacent to The Flying Beaver pub/restaurant (in fact the restrooms, should you need them, are in the restaurant). There are three or four check-in counter spots, plenty of gifts and company-branded merchandise on display. However there is a leather bench and some leather chairs close to the entrance, alongside the complimentary coffee, tea, water, fruit, earplugs, and in this location: pastries! (Not all locations have pastries available.)

Sailings depart from Duke Point to Vancouver (Tsawwassen). We had to arrive at the terminal between 30-mins to an hour prior to our scheduled departure. Sailing time was about 2 hours. Pacific Coastal operates out of this terminal to remote areas in BC, and various fishing lodges have chartered flights from here. The departure and arrival areas is pretty much one section. The baggage carousel is right by where you board. I take Pacific Coastal flights, and there's no security screening to go through, you just go out to the tarmac and board the plane from there. Unfortunately there's not many food options. There's only a cafe located at this terminal and you'll have to go out pretty far to find actual food. Service is fast since there's virtually no people. You can just go at the required arrival time and you should be fine. The building is very small and it's impossible to get lost as it's just one big hallway. Bathrooms are located on one side of the building. There's a shuttle that goes to and from the terminal but otherwise you'll have to take a taxi or Uber to get there. It can take quite a bit of time to go between terminals.

The terminal was nice and clean and orderly. I was disappointed in the taxi service: there was nothing in sight and I had to call get a cab, seems strange for an airport terminal to have no taxi waiting around at all, I waited for about 15 minutes to get out of there after collecting my items.

The pilot was incredibly friendly and amazingly informative while the 5 of us asked every question about helicopters that we'd been saving since we were 5 years old. After a short and fun safety lesson we took off from the South Terminal and flew over Vancouver, circled downtown a couple of times and headed northward over the Capilano reservoir. JUST AWESOME! He took us back towards downtown, rounded the beaches and UBC before settling back down. We were giggling like little girls.
