They cut her completely open with a 6cm incision and sutured her and didn't even approximate the incision. She's a large dog, 125lb, they squeezed her into too small of a cannel and she tried to lay down and cut her foot open on the cannel requiring another bandage. They also sent her home with no pain medication. Only gabapentin I'm so upset and really don't understand. We will be calling tomorrow to get some answers. She's miserable. Pat and his wife were excellent, however their focus is on equine and breeding horses so whoever is left in the office is very green and not experienced enough to be completely procedures alone.

The vet assistant kept ignoring me or telling me that she was pregnant after telling her that my cat is spayed and was pushy about it. Then on my last visit there, as I was waiting to take my cat into her appointment, the staff was yelling and berating another client and arguing with them in front of a full lobby of clients. The client who was being yelled at and berated was just asking to reduce the $15 charge for an entire nail clipping/trim since they only clipped/trimmed 1 claw and not an entire service. Then after my cat's vet appointment, I contacted the staff asking about giving my cat her antibiotic through a shot since NOTHING was working to give her the antibiotic in pill form, and the woman I spoke to said in a VERY rude and condescending tone "um, no. It's an antibiotic, they don't come as a shot." This was either a flat out lie or sign of being uneducated because for one, my parents always get my animals back home their antibiotics in shot form, and a quick google search for my cat's specific antibiotic in shot form said it does exist and can get it at any veterinarian office. I would HIGHLY recommend NOT taking your pets here. Don't waste your money, time, sanity, or effort on this place. The veterinarian himself being the only person with dignity and respect at this office is not worth it.

He was the most loving gentle giant and brought us joy every day of his life. I have had five other dogs euthanized in the vets' offices and always found the end to be very traumatic for me and my beloved fur babies. There is no easy way to say good-bye but Dr. Tricia was so gentle and patient that our old boy left with love in his eyes and a final tail wag. He was at peace because he was at home and Dr. Tricia showed so much love and compassion for him and us. I can't imagine facing the end in any other way again. I highly recommend Dr. Tricia and thank God we found her at just the right time.

Kathy had been taking her dogs to Dr. Ehlers for at least the last 10 years. Coincidentally, both Misty & Pixie had a grooming appointment scheduled at Ehlers Animal Care just a few hours after Kathy passed. When we called to explain what had happened, and see about rescheduling the appointment, they were incredibly compassionate. They asked if we wanted to come later that same day, and when we arrived with Misty & Pixie, the staff was visibly upset. It was only after we got there that we realized they were taking care of us after their regular business hours. Not only that, Dr. Ehlers refused to let us pay for the services. Dr. Ehlers contacted me several times after that with suggestions for different adoption organizations, and to see how Misty & Pixie were adjusting to their new surroundings with us. It was obvious why Kathy had trusted Dr. Ehlers & her wonderful staff for so many years. They genuinely care about their customers & truly love the animals they take care of. We were overwhelmed by the kindness Dr. Ehlers & everyone at Ehlers Animal Care showed us. We will forever be grateful.
