The cost was $400, when I called on the phone they said costs usually started at $200, but this was fine by me because I believe he had to replace a part and do a bit more work to get the fireplace to work. They do take credit cards and there are no fees to use one, also. Based on this experience I would absolutely use Ace Fireplace again if I was having fireplace issues.

I called around and either couldn't get anyone out quickly or the weekend/"emergency" rate was outrageous. A friend recommended Gas Tech Services, so I reached out a bit desperate. Steve Wallace got back to me fast, asked all the right questions, and suggested a natural gas wall heater as a temporary/backup heat source to get us through the season. He came out on a weekend, in the cold, and handled the gas line work and install like it was nothing. You can tell he's a pipe fitter by trade -- super clean run, everything to code, double-checked for leaks, and took the time to explain how to use it safely. What surprised me most was the price. For a last-minute, winter, weekend visit... I was expecting to get hit hard. His rate was more than fair, and honestly better than a couple places I called during normal hours. Benefits of dealing with small business, instead of these massive nationwide chains that seem to be taking over and controlling the rates is how I view it. The heater has been rock solid and kept the house comfortable enough that we weren't scrambling for space heaters or staying somewhere else. That install basically bought us time to replace the main furnace on our schedule instead of in panic mode. Professional, responsive, and actually cares that the job is done right. I'd absolutely use Gas Tech Services again and would recommend Steve to anyone who needs gas line work or a heating solution in a hurry.

Had 2:pm appointment today. Al showed up on time and performed a clean professional service. Laid drop cloths down and provided informational on every step of the sweep (both inside and outside). Found a crack between bricks in the firebox which he repaired at no charge. Indicate that we should cut down some tree limbs hanging over the chimney. Provided a card of a service provider. I was getting water in my house/ceiling and they identified that as the problem. I'd gotten several quotes that were all over the place, theirs was in the middle, but I liked their thoroughness and they had other good reviews. My chimney had eroded because I had gotten a new high efficiency furnace and the company did not install a chimney liner. Art of Stone did an amazing job, the result was a beautiful looking chimney and a new cap on top. I've had zero problems with water since then. I then had someone else put in a chimney liner so the problem wouldn't re-occur. I would recommend.

Will showed me where our existing chimney was basically falling apart (yay old homes!), and explained how he could rebuild it using reclaimed brick that would match the original. He was very thorough in tracing the gas lines through the property to ensure there were no leaks anywhere, and getting gas restored to the fireplace. He also showed me where there were cracks on the fireplace refectory panels, and sealed them to prevent damage. His crew even vacuumed the gas logs so we weren't burning off dust when we lit the fire. Very highly recommend. We hope to use them in the spring to rebuild our chimney.

May 31, 2025 - Saturday…read more Review #519 My review is based on the Service, Quality and Value with Dr. Sweep (Humor name) that performed a Spring cleaning, camera inspection and 26 - point checklist for the closing of My family room fireplace. Fireplace technician Rob Gray was on time as informed when I set up the appointment on line from 7 days prior. Before starting the process of cleaning, camera of inspection then approval, he was kind enough to ask questions about the fireplace being the first time at My Home. He was very knowledgeable and also discussed the types of wood to burn to help out with less creosote in the chimney. Then he talked about moisture levels and those annoying down drafts which I was already aware of. Before I start a fire on a Windy afternoon I open up the door-wall a bit to assist wind. Humor about the company name, I asked employee Rob where was his stethoscope since name of company is Dr. SWEEP! :-) He was cautious with using the backyard and door-wall to bring in his cleaning and inspection equipment plus a tarp on the carpet to prevent dirt or dust. The masonry chimney potential concerns and fireplace concerns worksheet I attached in a photo to state the many steps in the verification of the service! Since My fireplace has a insert and high tech blower system that checked out great and in proper usage. No leaks, no damaged bricks and the 8 inch Flue checked out fine. It was nice to see the camera photos of a shiny Liner! I was pleased in the final process with great results and that the fireplace passed inspection is safe for use again in the Fall. The start to finish cleaning and outside inspection on the roof of the family room fireplace took 1 Hour. Great Service, Details in High Quality and a Good Cleaning price of $269.00. less coupon discount $20.00. Now the outside on the roof of the chimney "Crown" needs to be resurfaced after 25 years of using the fireplace and also waterproofing which I will set up a day and time later on to complete this in September or October. I was glad to find this company in the Dollars Inside Coupon Book and checked on their reviews and used a coupon for $20.00 off the cleaning. I will also use another coupon in the future for 20% off Masonry Repairs. This company has been in business since 1999. What took Me so long to find them to call ? :-) Thank You Rob at Dr. Sweep and the next time I call for cleaning, I will ask for You! He used the existing ceramic logs (which we really like) with a new, updated flame delivery system and even took the time to paint out the interior of the fireplace to create a "shadowbox" effect for the fire. Total time from start to finish was under two hours, and we're already on point to contact him for further repairs to the chimney and porch steps in the future.
