The first thing I noticed right away is they actually answer their phone when they call so that was already a plus for me. I was able to schedule an estimate quickly and get someone out to help us address our main issue which was our kitchen not venting correctly, in addition to a fireplace that we would soon need because of the cold Detroit winter. As a new homeowner, we did want to make sure that the fireplaces were in good working condition before we actually started using them so we requested a estimate on what the service and maintenance could potentially be for the fireplaces that we had in our house and any recommendations that they would have. The process was very straightforward. They easily walked us through the quote and what was needed and why, in addition to what the current condition of the fireplace was in to what would need to be done and how it would fix the problem as well as what comes after the service what could be expected what they would be able to help us with should we come across any hiccups after the fireplace maintenance and what warranties came with the products that we purchased. We purchased dampers some gas fire logs, and had our fireplaces updated so that we could use them last winter. From there coming this winter, we assumed that we would have to have the fireplaces serviced again because it was a new year, though we only had a handful of fires in the living room fireplace they scheduled the appointment. They were prompt and scheduling, as well as coming out for service and transparent enough to say we haven't used our fireplace enough to fully warrant a cleaning. This was refreshing to see this type of honesty from a contractor. Then we ended up having an issue with the smoke coming into our house on our serviced fireplace. They were able to address solve an analyze, the reasons why the smoke was coming in to our living room, though everything looked up-to-date and ready to go. It was next level problem-solving skills that they would rarely run across because of the unique fireplace that we had in our Historic house. It was very appreciated that they did not just give up and ask us to spend a gazillion dollars to throw money at a problem. Will showed me where our existing chimney was basically falling apart (yay old homes!), and explained how he could rebuild it using reclaimed brick that would match the original. He was very thorough in tracing the gas lines through the property to ensure there were no leaks anywhere, and getting gas restored to the fireplace. He also showed me where there were cracks on the fireplace refectory panels, and sealed them to prevent damage. Absolutely do not hire this company! They are complete scammers. They charged me $3,200 to do a few…read morehours work and left mortar all over the bricks I paid them to replace. Adam, the guy who was in charge of the scam project showed up in his pajamas to collect the cash when the job was "finished". After noticing how much mortar was left on the new bricks Adam sent someone back to my house to "resolve" the issue. Whatever chemical they used to remove the mortar from the new bricks made its way onto my garage doors and ate through the paint. Not only did I get scammed out of a ridiculous amount of money for the work they did, but I had to repaint my garage doors. To put this in perspective, the materials cost the company no more than $200. Adam promised me extensive repair of lintels that were causing structural issues to my house. Instead of that, no lintels were repaired and his guys simply replaced brickwork. When I say that his workers were at my house for a few hours, I'm not exaggerating. Seriously the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. ZERO stars
