I mean come on, $5 is a cheap price to pay for a great day on the lake (you and your carload of people). The biggest draw is probably the sandy beach just down from the lawn... couple that with the great water temp and you got a good recipe for a chill day. Bring a cooler, chairs and some shade if you can! Oh yeah don't forget to bring your 4 legged pal if they're friendly!

The lake was it's lowest ever this year, according to the camp host- so 2020 will be a short season. Water temperature was wonderfully cool (but not cold). Go soon if you are planning on going at all. Lastly, if you are a bit adventurous you don't need to buy wood here- there is plenty driftwood lying around.

Gone are the onslaught of splinters, burns from the hot metal slides and being attacked by the countless wasps hiding in the nooks, crannies and roof peaks. Even back then, this was the park to go to! Fast forward to a recent refresh, the playground is still sprawling and super diverse, something for everyone! Wood has been replaced by plastic and metal but the laughter of kids as they run wild is still here. The only downside is maybe the lack of parking, but on hot summer days you'll find the ice cream truck posted up in the lot closest to the playground. What I really love about this park is that's it's more than just a playground. The greenway cuts through it making bike riding an awesome option. Keeping in that theme, there's a BMX style dirt track with whoops, table tops and fat banks and burms. A comprehensive skateboard park, tennis courts, a huge open grassy area, covered seating for parties and a large dog park round out this sprawling Medford classic.

It was a challenge finding parking but when we did, we excitedly walked to the park anticipating the enjoyment we would all have. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were greeted with multiple signs advising that the park does not allow dogs and encouraging people to walk their dogs around outside the park. We did that, as well as attempting one of the trail options but we have better options for that without driving here, hence the two stars. We also understand the necessity of not allowing dogs is specific locations so this review is for anyone researching because the Internet has told them this is a dog friendly place. It is not.

There are several shelters with many picnic tables and some outside the shelters also. The picnic areas are clean, with trash picked up, and there are toilets and plentiful parking, not a little in the shade. If I lived near here, I'd be a regular.

Well, they apparently do not have the same lenient rules for online payment when it comes to people of darker skin color because as I had my friend on the phone, who, of course you guessed it does not have darker skin color. She told me on the phone, which the guy could hear in an ear shots because she was on speakerphone that she was let through without paying and he had her take a picture of the online payment for code for her to do it that way. I proceeded to tell him exactly what she's telling me and he's acting confused. He never showed me this paper clip or or acknowledges the fact that you could pay online at all. I tell him I need to go cause they're actually leaving soon, so can I just go and I will do the payment some other way, he continues to act weird and confused and like cash is the only way or or else he's not gonna let me go through. Then he says oh the rangers are gonna be stopping by, blah blah. so to end this so that it doesn't turn into me sitting there for 10-30 minutes. I had to tell him my plans to go there quickly and come back because I can't be here all day. They're gonna leave soon. I get to my friends and tell them this story and they confirmed that this is a very odd interaction and clearly probably has a lot to do with discrimination/ the way that I look. To add to this a very angry looking female Park Ranger was staring like somebody had just spit in her Cheerios like she was ready to fight someone maybe the only person of color at the park over six dollars...? You need to do better. This is ridiculous behavior in 2026 especially. They're lucky I probably can't sue for this stupid interaction. Only adding a star because it is a nice park/play area.

It's two levels, a smaller grassy and play area up top right off of a bridge, and a larger area down the hill. It looked like there was a parking area at the base of the hill but I didn't explore that part of the park. The play structure is modern and clean and even has those spring horses I loved from my childhood but most of California has deemed too dangerous for kids. The view from the upper area was very nice, it parallels 5 but you don't see much of the highway because of the trees. I was there in the beginning of October and the trees were coloring in preparation of dropping their leaves adding to the beauty of the view.

We enjoyed an early fall trip here with our travel trailer. The campsites have good spacing from…read moreeach other and the camp hosts were all very friendly. Sadly the resevoir was shockingly low and what would have normally been nearby water views were limited. Our campsite had water and power and everything worked well for the entire stay. There are two dump stations near the entrance. When the park is full I suspect the dump station could get crowded. There are playgrounds for the kids in between the major campground areas. Restrooms and showers were decent. It's a well maintained campground especially for a public one.
