I stumbled on happy paws on google/facebook and I really wish another vet had an opening and was able to come to our home. From the second I spoke to Dr Mink I felt rushed. I initially called her around 12/1pm to ask if she had an opening and she did from 6-8pm that she can be here.. I tried to call her back to confirm but she said she was in a house call and she'll call me back.. call back never happened.. turned into just a text exchange confirming she can come between 6-8pm. When she got here at 6:30 all we wanted was 10 extra minutes with our girl.. she made it seem like I was asking for an hour and said she can give us 5 minutes as she has another appointment right after.. I already got annoyed at this comment right from the beginning. When she came in first thing she asked for was payment.. no asking of what our girls name was, how old she was, what was going on.. nothing.. zero sympathy.. went straight for payment and then straight to almost giving her the first shot to put our baby to sleep.. she then gave us maybe 5 minutes and went straight to shaving her paw and putting in the IV line.. After our girl was gone the Dr gave us zero information about cremation.. all I got was can you pickup her ashes in Clifton? That's it.. no name of the company nothing.. we were also in total shock still so even asking these questions then completely went over my mind. I had to text her the next day asking when we can pickup her ashes and when they will be ready.. all I got was an excuse saying she sent the information already but the text didn't go through so she will resend them. In the end we picked up our girls ashes and paw prints on Tuesday, all no thanks to the Dr, I called the cremation place myself and was told everything was ready for pickup. I just hope this review helps others.. we were going through one of the worst days with our girl and looking back at all the things that happened I really wish we went with someone else.

First off, it's impossible to find someone to groom a cat in this area. We had a situation and desperately needed help with our long-haired Siberian. Unlike every other groomer we contacted, Furever Friends Family couldn't have been kinder, more generous, or more accommodating. They squeezed us in for a same-day appointment without hesitating. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely love animals. They took the time to understand my cats needs, her personality, and ensured a tailored grooming experience. My usually anxious feline felt at ease almost immediately (and seemed to like them more than me!) The grooming itself was top-notch. My cat came out looking like a show-stopper. Additionally, the space is spotless. You can tell cleanliness is a top priority! I can't recommend Furever Friends Family enough. Unfortunately, we had such a bad experience we cannot recommend them, nor will we use them again…read more Our cats were picked up, and we noticed that the one was on the top shelf surrounded by old dried up poop. She was also wet underneath. This was pointed out to staff who had no answer or explanation for why she was up there, nor for how long. This cat cannot jump that high as she's elderly and has a couple of underlying health issues. Upon returning home, within one day, she began vomiting and having diarrhea all over the basement and herself. We immediately brought her to our vet, who had to keep her for three nights. She was severely dehydrated, developed a kidney infection, and her bowels were swollen and inflamed. This visit with the Cat Chalet turned into a close to $2500 expense as a result of what they charged, in addition to our vet hospital bill. What we have ascertained is that someone likely placed her on the top shelf, and she couldn't get down on her own; so she didn't eat or drink, and was forced to soil herself and the shelf she was sitting on. If staff were paying attention, they should have/would have noticed she was up there for several days, and should have been concerned about her food and water intake. Even if this were just a result of stress (this was the first time this has happened and she'd been there before), we should have been notified if she weren't eating or drinking. She was noticeably lighter when we picked her up as well, so there is also weight loss on a cat who cannot afford to lose any more muscle mass. We are so upset, disappointed, and generally very angry that this happened. In the future, we will be scheduling someone we know and trust to stay in our home to take care of them - we just cannot trust this place to take proper care of our cats, and after this experience, will never bring them out to be boarded again.

Since the new ownership took over, our experience has gone steadily downhill. Prior to this, we had…read morenever once had an issue with grooming--no matter how long our dog's hair had gotten, even after COVID, the groomers always managed to brush him out without any problems. Unfortunately, that level of care has completely changed. We've dealt with several poor grooming jobs under the new owners, but this last visit was the final straw. We received a text saying they needed to go shorter, and we agreed--but when we picked up our dog, he had been completely shaved down to the skin. Our dog is part Husky, a breed that should never be shaved, and any reputable groomer should know that. To make matters worse, he had a cut on his neck from how close they got to the skin. Not only was the grooming unacceptable, but the staff also refused to take any accountability. Rather than admitting they were uncomfortable grooming our dog, they chose to proceed--and take our money--at the expense of his well-being. I have added photos of what he should look like versus how he looked when we picked him up. I can no longer recommend this place. Since the change in ownership and grooming staff, the quality and care have drastically declined.

He would pick and choose when he wanted to listen and when he wanted to do his own thing, and he was so terrified/defensive of other dogs, we worried whenever we took him out where other dogs would be. Now, Chewbacca is a top-notch gentleman. Starr not only taught us and Chewy lots of new commands, more importantly she taught us how to handle him and how to take the lead. Chewy has not only completely transformed in listening to us, but he is also now substantially more comfortable around dogs he doesn't know - something we never believed would happen. What Start was able to teach us and Chewy was absolutely life changing for all of us - thank you Starr!

Starr has been a godsend! There is so much to be said about how amazing this training has been for…read moremy boys. I always thought that my boys listened well. They've always been good boys. I had no idea just how much better they could be. Starr has brought us a much more relaxed home and for that I am eternally grateful. A couple ways our life has changed: Everytime I had my windows or doors open my boys would bark at the slightest noise whether it be a car, person, or their shadow. I am now able to sleep with my windows open for the first time in 6 years. My neighbors can be outside and I can have my doors open and my boys no longer bark incessantly. I can now sit on my porch with my boys and enjoy my neighborhood and evenings without my boys going crazy and trying to run all over. My boy Cache used to act like a mongrel walking on a leash. We were unable to take him anywhere. He's literally torn pads on his feet trying to get into the vets office from pulling so hard. Since the training, I am able to walk Cache into the vet, get a weight on him by myself, and Cache will actually lay down and wait to be seen. We used to have to wait in the car and carry him in. We recently brought the boys out for icecream and multiple people have commented on just how well behaved they are. A couple months ago we would have never heard that! In January my boys had a difference of opinion about the ownership of a bone and my boy Damian had bit my Cache. Cache understandably had some trust issues. I felt as though I was walking on eggshells thinking they were going to have continual issues. Starr's training has brought my boys back together and have strengthened their bond with not only me and my husband but also with each other. They are starting to play and cuddle with each other again. "Success is no accident.
