My dog Wesley has made it his personal mission to bankrupt me. There's literally no other reason for his expensive ailments. I should just be one of JDs childless cat ladies instead. I feel like they cost less - cat people weigh in. Anyway, after annoying my dog by playing in his mouth as I do on the daily I noticed he had a purple tooth. Bottom right canine to be exact. After spending 30 seconds on Google that told me it's either a little harmful to instant and painful death, I called the regular vet panicked. He told me it will either self-heal (unlikely), need to be sealed (more likely), or require a root canal (start selling your kidneys to finance this immediately). They referred me to this wonderful place. I waited about a week for an appointment - not terrible considering my dog was carrying on as usual - albeit with a cyberpunk front tooth. I opted for same day procedure appt which basically meant I was on the hook for whatever financial disaster came my way. But YOLO amirite. This place was wonderful!! The doctor got right down on the floor with my dog (why don't general vets do this btw), examined him, took me through the likely possibilities. Then they drew up a treatment plan based on the possible scenarios and sent me on my way for the day while they took care of Wes. The good news - it looks like for now the tooth self-healed but we're monitoring it. Could just be too early to tell. The price for sleepy meds, imaging, exams, and tooth cleaning was right on the low end of the pricing I was given. Truth be told there was nothing "low" about the price. THAT SAID, that's pet life and I signed up for it so it's all good. I love the care that Wesley received here and the way staff made me as a pet parent feel comfortable and empowered through my decision-making. Other than his early exam room piddle (let he who hath not peed on the floor out of nervousness cast the first diaper), Wes was super relaxed and at ease. Bottom line: prices are in line with the level of care. And they take Care Credit - so 0% interest your way to Mt Laurel and get those teeth taken care of! read more

Went to VDS in MT Laurel. Wonderful experience! I am a nervous wreck when it comes to leaving my dog anywhere. I almost never do. This was, hands down, the best experience I have ever had with a vet service. My dog just needed a regular cleaning and I love my regular vet, but I wanted more eyes on my dog when he was having his teeth cleaned under anesthesia. I feel like anesthesia is a seperate specialty and to ask the doctor performing the cleaning to be responsible for the anesthesia is alot. The care my dog received was second to none. He was treated like a prince, with special care, and they actually calmed my nerves as well, which is not easy to do. Contact was constant from them before and after the procedure and I felt like they actually loved their jobs, from the front desk to the post op instructions. Worth every penny! read more

Pablo had to have all his teeth extracted because of previous dental work, he had parts of broken bone still in his gums, he could no longer eat and it was really sad to watch, he would walk up to his food eat a bit and then run away. I took him to an emergency vet in absecon nj and they were concerned that they felt they could not do dental procedure effectively so they recommended veterinary dentistry specialist in mount laurel, they were incredible! there were alot of problems with his gums and teeth, all his remaining teeth had to be pulled and a lot of work on his gums.they took exceptional care of him. when I got him home, he immediately wanted to eat and started eating like there was no tomorrow, it has been 3 weeks and it is amazing how well he has recovered. he is able to eat with no problem and has gained his weight back. I cannot recommend this place enough. My cat had pretty bad teeth resorption--enough that her primary vet was worried an extraction would break her jaw! I'm a very anxious pet parent and finding a place I felt like I could trust was really hard. My vet recommended VDS to me and I couldn't be happier. Before her surgery they spent an hour telling me everything that was wrong and everything that they would do. They kept in constant contact with me (via text and sometimes phone call) while I waited to let me know how she was doing, and even called to confirm any serious actions they were taking (such as asking for permission to remove certain teeth!) They went above and beyond in their kindness in taking care of my sweet girl. The last time she had a tooth removed her recovery took over two weeks--this time it took about three days. She is happier, healthier, and no longer in pain. She even GAINED weight in the three weeks since! The price point is definitely high, especially if you don't have pet insurance, but they are transparent about their costs from the start (most places aren't!) and it's an amount that I was willing to invest for her. I truly wish I could thank VDS 100 times a day for taking care of her. She's my whole world and she gets to live a lot more comfortably now, so I can, too! Dr Eroshin and his team were extremely quick, efficient and professional in extracting money from us and upselling additional services (aggressive extractions) that we felt first needed a biopsy to determine if the services were even needed. I would rate them zero in follow up. After waiting over two weeks to hear back from VDS with results from a biopsy we contacted them just to receive inconclusive results from the biopsy. We were told that they would email a report on our visit and the biopsy results. We still have not received this information. Our local vet did receive a report on the visit but no biopsy results to act upon. VDS was quick to charge our credit card ~$4000, not so quick to follow up with results. read more

My dog underwent dental claning and a tooth repair. It was a same-day half-a-day event. This is the second time we do that at the VDS. It is a major event for the dog with some health issues - full anesthesia, etc., and we are always a bit nervous. It went extremely well. The place is fully wheelchair-accessible. The receptionists made an extra effort to accomodate me so that I drive right into the waiting room and we could stay there for the duration of the procedure (be prepared to wait). Dr. Yeroshin is very professional and nice. He explained to us what is needed. He did not pressure us to the procedure. In fact, last year he recommended us to wait. This time it was the time again and we did it. They did a superb job - both the cleaning technician and the doctor. They send us the pictures of the teeth (Not included here to protect my dog's privacy ;-))))) Overall, very professional environment with nice people. We absolutely will go there again (hopefully not sooner than in twelve months, however). I would highly recommend the clinic to anybody. read more

I brought my cat here for teeth extractions - she had a few teeth in really bad shape. They operated on her the same day I brought her in, which I'm grateful for because (1) my vet had already said she needed surgery, and (2) I didn't want to bring her in for a consult, just to bring her back again when I knew she needed surgery (she does NOT like to travel). Most other vets in the area insisted I bring her in for a consultation first. The vet was amazing - she explained the procedure, assuaged my concerns, and was very kind to my cat. The staff is amazing as well. The procedure was expensive ($4900), but absolutely worth it. They scheduled my cat for 2 follow up visits (for free) to ensure she healed well. My cat had 7 teeth pulled and is healed perfectly 6 weeks later. Money well spent and I will go back if my cats need any further dental work. read more

My Cady is just about 48 hrs post surgery. She is a 15 yr old dog ( Maltese/Fox Terrier Mix) with advanced heart disease. I hadn't taken her for teeth cleaning because of the risks with anesthesia. Of course she developed a severe infection in her teeth at 15. Otherwise is great physical condition. I took her here, to VDS at the recommendation of the ER vet. I scheduled an appt, it took 2 weeks to get an appt. I brought her in for her appt, Dr Rice came out to the car to get her, carried her in. He called after the initial exam, to explain things. I was super nervous and conflicted on whether or not to go forward. He explained the risks and benefits but said if I wasn't completely on board with the risks to not go forward ( I was so upset thinking if she died, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself) so, as the previous 1 star poster said they are all about the $$, I don't believe this to be true as they weren't pushing for me to have the procedure done. All said and done, are had 15 teeth pulled ( ouch!) and an overnight stay at the hospital next door ( my decision as a precaution for the following day ), she is home and resting comfortably. Eating, even tho she has no teeth! I received several phone calls throughout both days to tell me how she was doing, from Dr Rice. I received a picture of her prior to her going into surgery . I am completely satisfied with the care she received. Yes, it was expensive but taking a dog to someone that doesn't have an on staff anesthesiologist, wasn't an option for her. Each day is worth all the money in the world to me with if she is still healthy and alive. read more

An Answered Prayer! When our dog woke up lethargic and in pain with massive swelling around his eye, the emergency vet diagnosed it as a mouth infection. Everywhere we called was booked for weeks - but even though VDS didn't have any availability, they told us they would squeeze him in. Dr. Eroshin was kind, thorough, explained everything in detail, and really gave our puppy the care he needed. Staff was friendly and kept us up to date with text messages and photos. Our 13-yr-old chihuahua Malla was always sensitive to anesthesia, so when she developed serious teeth/gum issues, we thought we were out of options, until our vet recommended VDS with on-staff anesthesiologists. Even being 2 hours from home, weighing costs and her advanced age, we felt confident enough to go forward with dental surgery, and we are so glad we did! My dog, Ellie, died after the procedure where my vet referred me to Veterinary Dental Specialists in order to have one tooth removed that had caused an abscess. My vet said she could not perform the extraction, as it was important to limit the amount of anesthesia that my dog would be subjected to. My vet also told me that she had spoken with the vet who would perform the surgery to advise her of Ellie's case. I called twice during the 4 1/2 hour procedure and was never asked or told that she had all of her teeth extracted. The reason I was referred to a dental specialist was due to their experience with tough cases where the dogs had kidney disease as Ellie had, and where there was an anesthesiologist on staff. I received the first call from VDS after 5 hours telling me Ellie was fine & that all of her teeth were removed. During the next 15 minutes I received 5 phone calls advising me that Ellie was not during well and she had died. I never discussed the removal of all of Ellie's teeth during or prior to her procedure. I never received any answers as to why Ellie was subjected to many hours of anesthesia when the entire purpose of pulling the infected tooth was to do it quickly since it was risky to leave her under anesthesia for a prolonged amount of time. This is a clear case of negligence on the part of the vet who made the dangerous decision against all of the medical risks which she was aware of, to pull all of Ellie's teeth. I had asked her if this was her dog what would she do in Ellie's case, and she said given her experience & knowledge, that she would perform the procedure. Had I known that she planned to remove all of Ellie's teeth which would keep her under many hours of anesthesia, I would have never permitted it. For that, I will feel guilty for the rest of my life which has been destroyed. Ellie was not suffering and she had alot more life left in her. I am heartbroken and devastated, and both Ellie and I have been treated very unprofessionally by this practice. read more

Amazing Place! I was searching for a dentist for my dog Maggie. She had some swelling due to carnassial tooth infection. I was terrified of bringing her to a vet since it is the largest tooth in dogs mouth and has three roots. I was so, so lucky to find this place while searching internet. First of all when you call the office Karin says "How may we help your pet today"- I already loved it and had good feeling about it.Everyone literally from the front desk to nurses to the doctor is amazing, kind and so caring. Dr Rice was our doctor. He explained the procedure, called me when maggie was done with xrays, and after the procedure. I was getting texts through out the day on how Maggie is doing. She ended up having three teeth extracted( she is a heavy chewer ) and the next day she was already doing so good. I really highly recommend this clinic. Get pet insurance as it is good to have it anyway and take your pet to a place you can trust like this one. Let me just say that we live in New york City and we drove two hours to get there. My 4 year old cat Willow Tree had dental surgery yesterday at VDS under the care of Dr. Eroshin. During this pandemic they have gone above and beyond to provide necessary care to animals while maintaining contactless thorough communication with the families. We dropped our little guy off at 9am and Dr. Eroshin came out personally to retrieve him after speaking to us on the phone about what the day would look like after his initial observations of Willow Tree. He was professional, clear, honest, and kind about the outlook of Willow's surgery. It turns out Willow's teeth were in worse shape than we thought upon putting him under anesthesia and taking a critical look at the radiographs and teeth. He called us, told us the truth and at all times reminded us that we were under no pressure to act immediately according to his findings. We traveled far from Queens, NYC after hearing great reviews from VDS so we were going to go through with this treatment plan. All but a few teeth were removed from Willow Tree and we were texted a couple of times with updates and we even got a picture sent to us when he was in recovery. The surgery was costly but Cynthia at the front desk was very kind and helped me figure out care credit which allowed us to pay for his surgery spread out over time at either no or low-interest depending on the terms. Also, for the level of expertise and care we received made it SO worth it. Dr. Eroshin called when Willow was in recovery and told us everything went well and that he would be ready for discharge around 5pm. Cynthia also coached me through the discharge process and also advised us about some aggression we may experience with our other cat at home. She was right! We felt completely supported and cared for during the entire stressful process. We love our little guy so much and VDS made something really uncomfortable and stressful (now more than ever!) pretty damn easy and stress-free for us. Also...at the end of our journey, we went to get in our car to pick Willow up (we stayed at a nearby hotel to wait) and the battery was dead! We called VDS to tell them we were behind schedule because of a dead battery and Jack immediately and casually offered to come jump us! Cynthia and Jack were so incredibly kind and wonderful and in 5 minutes Jack met us at the hotel and even brought Willow and all of his discharge instructions and medications! Talk about customer service! We feel so grateful to the VDS for taking such incredible care of Willow Tree. Wow- what can I say, Dr. Lewis and his team were incredibly kind and professional. Our cat is only three and has periodontal disease and only one kidney, so we wanted to make sure we could get him the best care! Dr. Lewis and the anesthesiologist are both board certified and Dr. Lewis talked me through the anesthesia process to make me feel reassured that they would be closely monitory the kidney function throughout the whole surgery. We had to drop off our kitty in the morning and the office texted us updates throughout the day. Their positive spirits and willingness to answer my millions of questions made us feel so much less stressed during what can be a scary ordeal for pet parents. Dr. Rice was very thorough, informative and compassionate, which truly put my mind at ease. I felt that the entire staff went out of their way to introduce themselves and allow me to ask questions to understand what the procedure will entail. 5 stars is not enough! Was referred here by our vet and could not have been any happier! Every single person on staff was AMAZING!!! Called and got an appointment without having to wait a long time, was given a rough idea up front on cost, was given great detail on how to get there. Arrived today for Fozzies procedure and everything ran so smoothly! Dr. Eroshin came out and examined him, ran down the procedure and was so honest and confident I felt a thousand percent reassured. They even sent me a picture and message right before he went under which let me tell you that made me know that he was in the best hands possible! Upon pick up they told me the quote wasn't going to be as much as they thought and refunded the extra from the deposit. Some people may think this isn't a big deal but fact of the matter is I'm not a veterinary dentist I don't know how much these procedures cost(and it's not like you can exactly shop around for this to compare) so they could have easily kept the entire quoted amount, but they didn't because they aren't there to take peoples money unnecessarily. Between the ease of scheduling, drop off, pick up, the professionalism of every single person, the extra mile of sending me a quick photo update, the honesty in payment and the AMAZING work and explanation from Dr. Eroshin I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. We made an appointment with VDS because our Rugby had a tooth infection and needed his teeth pulled. We called them before the appointment and asked what's the price range would be for tooth extraction for Rugby, because our local vet already gave the diagnosis and the treatment plan, and the receptionist told me it's going to be around 500-600$ with the consultation. Upon arrival, the doctor (Vet) came out to look at Rugby (8 lb. Yorkie), went back inside the building and had the receptionist call us to go over the pricing and treatment plan. And they end up telling me it's gonna be $3800 - $5000. We asked the receptionist a lot of questions to understand how it cost so much more than originally quoted. They said times have changed since COVID and they need to pay their bills. So essentially, they are PRICE GOUGING everyone and those who can afford will pay. This is a bad business model and no one should be fooled to think these so called "ELITE Doctors" are worth it.
