On August 22, 2024 I rushed my cat, Katty Purry to VEG Rampart. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed. The hospital was immaculate. The Vet and all the employees were absolutely wonderful. I was trying my hardest to be so stoic but inside I was hurting just as much as Purry was. I knew Purrys demise was close but I tried to be strong. Every single Vet tech was trying to comfort me. They were all so caring even as I put my walls up and wouldn't let them see me crumble. They walked me to a comfort room that was so soothing to my soul and let me be so I could say my final goodbye to my furry flat faced family member. Purry was groomed just 4 days prior so she was looking her best for her journey over the rainbow bridge. I held her close and told her how much love she gave me, how much I loved her and how she saved my life more than once. She let me know it was time to go so I pushed the alert button to inform the staff we were ready. I talked to her through all of it and she peacefully took her final journey. The wonderful amazing Vet Tech left us alone and told me to stay as long as I wanted with her. I wanted to stay forever but after quite awhile I knew it was time to go home with only my loving memories of her. Once again I put on my brave facade but the staff saw right through me. The Tech who gave Purry her final injection came up to me and gave me a strong meaningful hug. For a second I despised this woman but that hug meant so much to me. I walked out alone, got in my car and drove about 1/10th of a mile before I pulled over. I got out of my car and just screamed at the top of my lungs "WHY". About 10 days later I come home and there is a box waiting for me. There was a ceramic coaster with Purrys name engraved on it and an imprint of her paw print. There was a card with a bag of her fur and the next day I got a card with a paper in it with her paw print and her nose print. It is the best gift I could have ever gotten. I wasn't expecting it but VEG's kindness and compassion made this lifelong gift possible. This is a long review, but I want the Vegas Valley to know that this is DEFINITELY the best place to go for after hours emergency Vet Care. These wonderful people don't just treat our fur babies. They care and treat the patients owner too. Thank you VEG from both Purry and myself. read more

We took our dog here Friday night because her back legs gave out, she was flinching and acting odd. The staff is extremely welcoming and attentive. The customer service and compassion the staff exhibited was by far the best treatment we have experienced! Although we were given the news our senior girl has cancer (metastatic and it's spread) they went over our options and talked through everything with us. They treated her like she was their own. They gave us some prescriptions to bring her home for essentially hospice care but I cannot say enough great things about this vet, highly recommend. read more

Do NOT bring your rabbit here! Just wanted to come on here and say if you have a rabbit do not take them here they don't know how to handle or care for rabbits. I'm sure they are great with cats and dogs. The staff was very friendly but it took them 30 minutes just trying to poke my rabbits vein with a needle for an IV. Also they didn't know how to properly shave a rabbits leg. They cut my rabbits leg while shaving her to find a vein for the needle. If you know how to handle rabbits you would know their skin is very thin and stretchy especially on the legs so you have to be careful not to cut the leg at a certain angle. (She has been groomed/shaved to the skin before by people who do know how to handle rabbits and has never been cut.) I had brought my rabbit into this ER vet because she was choking on a food pellet and my normal vet was closed. I rushed her down to the vet when I got there they said they couldn't take out what she was choking on (come to find out you can, my normal vet confirmed you can save a choking rabbit and is actually very common for rabbits to choke on pellets). When rabbits are choking or something is blocking their airway their lungs begin to get filled with fluid which hers did she was bubbling at the nose and they told me fluid was in her lungs. They told me even if they drained it she would most likely die due to lung infection. Their only solution for me was to put her down and me not being a vet tech I believed everything they told me and just wanted what was best for my baby. My rabbit fought for TWO HOURS unable to properly breathe waiting to be saved but sadly passed as nothing was done to help her. The next day I informed my usual vet that handles rabbits what had happened and she told me she could of been saved from choking by taking out what was blocking her air way, then draining her lungs from the fluid and that she would not have died from a lung infection as it's easily treatable with medication for any pneumonia. I did more research and my rabbits story is very common and has been saved many times from her exact situation. It's a shame my baby fought for two hours. Please DO NOT bring your rabbit here they don't know how to handle rabbits or treat them. They can't help you. And again I'm sure they are great with cats and dogs and the staff was friendly but I wish they just told me they don't know how to save her rather than telling me she can't be saved. read more

My kitten died in less than 2 days after coming here. She died from renal failure which was completely missed by the vet due to lack of proper testing. Called to get some answers and try to understand how that was missed, "medical director" was completely callous and unsympathetic. I thought this place was great in the beginning. Clearly they need more training. I was there on the first day of opening and they already have a death on their hands. Not off to a great start. read more

Our dog has been sick for 3 weeks. We took Thor in and the doctor that saw him recommended treatment to help stop the bleeding. The staff was so caring. Unfortunately yesterday he no longer could fight the illness. There staff and doctor were so amazing letting us have time with our baby and so understanding as he was vomiting blood. He was able to pass peacefully with his family there every step of the way. We had him at the Tropicana Emergency vet as well. When the doctor asked me why we chose to go there it's because the staff truly cares for the animal and family. read more

I had never been to a place like this before. Driving our pup there I was dreading being isolated in a room, waiting for hours, not knowing what was happening. I walked in and was shocked. The second I walked in we were immediately greeted by the ER staff and the vet. Being able to be with my dog the entire time was so comforting for the both of us. I was involved in all the treatment and the staff was incredible. While I never hope for another ER visit; I would never go anywhere else again. read more

My poor ferret had been ailing for weeks now, we were hoping he would pass away in his sleep like they usually do but he went into seizures and he was clearly in a lot of pain. This happened suddenly on a Sunday evening and most vets were closed. I made an appointment with UrgentVet and once we got there, they told us they couldn't euthanize ferrets! That would have been nice to know beforehand! We got quite a bit of attitude from the receptionist, too. Luckily, the Veterinary Emergency Group was very close by. I called them and Katelyn (sorry if I misspelled it) was extremely sympathetic and said we could bring him right in. The staff was incredibly courteous and respectful. It was not easy for them either as he was struggling a lot but they did a great job. On a more practical note, I was concerned what the cost would be for an emergency vet because so many places are willing to take advantage of distressed people but it turned out to be a very fair price. I hope I never have to go there again, no offense, but I cannot recommend them enough in an emergency. read more

I unexpectedly had an emergent situation with my 17 yr old special needs kitty. The vet, whom I spoke with before the shift change was so nice and helpful. When entering the facility, everyone was kind and supportive. The staff was well versed in triage and I felt my fur baby was being evaluated properly. We called, spoke to a Doctor, sent us a link to pre register and were ready for us when we walked thru the door. We were seen immediately and kept informed every step of the way. The price was commiserate for the care received. All aspects of the care for Lilo was done with so much care and compassion to make her as comfortable as possible. Me and my wife surrendered a kitten to them that we found abandoned because we could tell that it needed medical attention. We have raised a litter before and have lost kittens to Fading Kitten Syndrome and have taken them to the other VEG in Henderson who are great. As soon as we arrived the attending vet seemed confused in what we were telling her. She seemed more concerned in charging us than anything else. Then they said that the Kitten was fine and looked healthy. I myself had to point out his irregular breathing, dehydrated face, and him only being about 156 grams at nearly 2 weeks old when he should be around 250grams. Then I called today and was advised he didn't make it. So, when you have an encounter like I did where you're told a kitten is fine and you know he is not then you start to think if he even got the right treatment. I asked if I could get him cremated and get his paw print as I have done so in with the VEG location in Henderson which I was charged $136 but this location wanted to charge me over $400 for the whole package. I told them I only wanted the print but they said it was a whole package yet I was able to do just the paw print with VEG in Henderson. I honestly regret leaving the kitten with them. read more

My heart shattered into a million pieces when my puppy got hurt playing with my other dog he was excited to see her and ran up to her trampling over her and breaking her arm. It was 2 AM and I had been denied care at animal focus vet- ER as well as veterinary emergency + critical care due to payment. I understand payment is important at the time of visit as I myself work in a hospital, but to see my poor puppy in distress, and pain and not offer any form of relief due to money was honestly inhumane I would of took absolutely anything any form of relief for my poor girl. I am so thankful and lucky to have found veterinary emergency group! The staff were so sweet to me and my baby. They took care of her, and gave her lots of love. They also took my payment situation into full consideration and still did not deny my puppy care, they stabilized her and sent her home with medication to make sure she is at least comfortable in her current situation. Dr. Hazard and her staff are absolutely amazing in every way, and I cannot thank them enough for helping my Josie bear. They all gave me reassurance, advice, recommendations, and options as to what I could do to help my baby. The vibe was so wonderful I cannot commend them enough. I recommend this place to anyone who has an animal emergency anytime of day or night. From the bottom of my heart thank you guys for everything and all that you do every day. Still crying. Cannot believe how fast my Coco 'disappeared.' I knew she had a liver tumor, monitored & stable with repeat blood work & tracking, medicines. Christmas day, she started breathing heavy/large. Internet say "30 beats a minute", she was at 60 beats a minute. Read all YELP reviews: where to go?? In 30 yrs of adopting senior dogs, only, I have been saddened & angry at 2 emergency hospitals locally. 3 visits, 3 deaths, one was preventable. This time - 5 days ago - I picked VEG on Rampart. I was there four 4 hours Christmas night. Oxygen - x rays - stabilized with no answer. I was allowed to hold my Coco and the oxygen tube up to her nose (sobbing for an hour, sure this was the end). Dr Katie Hazard sat with me, we both looked closely at Coco's film and her blood work from 3 weeks prior.My bill was now over $700. Dr Katie suggested I take my Coco (now stable) to my vet in the morning for blood work. I did = Coco's KIDNEY VALUES had doubled in 3 weeks. o m g. My vet (new guy) gave me nausea pills for her & scheduled an ultrasound days later. I took Coco home, who is now breathing 90-breaths-a-minute and sit her in a comfy nest on the sofa next to me. Nooooo. This can't be right letting my Coco struggle. I called VEG the evening of 12/26, Coco now in distress for 30 hours and ask to speak to Dr Katie, who came on the line and spoke with me at great length. With compassion. With expert medical explanations as I read her Coco's blood work results. Dr Katie explained "kidneys can fail fast, are very painful" and "there is no fixing this." I asked, understanding what was needed for Coco, if they (VEG) could euthanize & cremate. Yes, for 700. Having just done this with another beloved pet 2 months ago, I knew 'it' was $400 at my vet's. BUT. I wanted caring, dignity, allowing me to be part of the departure .... told her I needed to think. Put on my clothes, swaddled Coco in a fluffy robe and she never left my arms at VEG. The staff was so gentle & kind looking for a vein for the I.v., great measures and pauses so as not to upset Coco. Who remained alert & calm as I held the oxygen tube up to her nose as the medical professionals did their jobs. Then Coco & I were put in a 'comfort room' and Dr Katie asked me when I was ready. Ready at the final injection. Allowed to hold Coco & grieve, asking me if I was ready before lifting Coco away.// This, people, is the way death should be. I would like to mention that the night before there was a pit bull nearby who had just had a C-section and a senior cat on i.v. drip being visited by her mom. Both animals had been discharged when I returned in my next-day crisis. So, VEG is not just about death, those 2 owners had their pets come home. read more

1st time going to this place located in Boca Park. It was nice and clean and it has an open floor plan which I prefer and like. We had a cat so we had a room but they do all things in your room or on a table in the middle of the place. Good thing is you can see what they are doing with your pet and they explain all right there instead of taking your pet and leaving you in a room for hours. This place gives you updates etc and checks on you. Sadly, we had to wait there few hours as there was real emergencies of a few dogs and that was sad to see but again I prefer the open floor plan so you can see what they are doing to your loved one. Obviously, others can see but of course all respectful etc. if you want total privacy and not see what they are doing to your baby then go elsewhere but if not this is the place to be and this is the place I will be going back if needed. Staff a nice, professional and courteous. A+ would recommend 100%! read more

My family and I have visited this Veterinary Emergency Group two times within the last 24 hours. The first time we had brought in our 2 yr old Huskey who wasn't feeling well and the Doctor and all the staff were so helpful,and accommodating to us. I am a nervous nelly when it comes to my babies(my animals) everyone here saw that and took the extra time and effort to help calm my anxiety and also answered every question and worry that I had about our dogs treatment. The second time we came in with my cat who was in extreme discomfort and had to undergo surgery to relieve his pain,he then had to stay overnight so he could receive additional medical help to heal properly. I was able to watch the surgery on my animal if I chose to and I also was able to spend the night with him to ease his anxiousness. This Emergency Group is so welcoming ,caring and this is absolutely the best Vetrinary Facility I have ever encountered. All staff members explain all the procedures they are performing on your pets and listen ,I mean really listen and genuinely care about all your concerns you might have. I feel that not only is everyone here extremely knowledgeable in their field but they are super friendly and comforting and loving as a family would be in the time that you need understanding the most because your loved one is in their hands. 5 stars they get from my family read more
