Our little Eddie gave us quite the scare last night. Thank goodness we found a 24 hour vet spot in Veterinary Emergency Group. We rushed him in when he ate some of his bone and looked like he wasn't properly breathing. He got extremely lethargic, started shaking and worried us enough to scoop him up and put him in the car at 10pm to bring him here. As soon as we walked in the staff welcomed us at the door and buzzed us in. They took his vitals right away and looked at his gums which were still pink so that was all good signs they said. His temperature was good, too. We then were asked to wait on the couch with him till the doctor could come talk with us. As we were sitting there, another poor doggie was rushed in with an emergency more important for sure so the vet was focused on him. Which was totally fine! As we were sitting there, Eddie stopped shaking and seemed like he was getting better, thank god. The vet did eventually come over to us and she was so nice. Dr. Kat. She explained that she felt like he seemed pretty normal and that sometimes that can happen and we did the right thing bringing him in and if it happens again we can bring him in again. She told us there was no charge for the visit, which was SO kind. We definitely were expecting to pay something for them checking him, but she said we were good to go. It was so kind of her. Definitely a five star experience. Every single staff member was so nice and just seeing them interact with the other doggie patients, you can tell everyone here really cares and loves what they do, helping animals. Hopefully we don't have to come back haha, but if we do need to go to an emergency vet, this one will definitely be it. read more

They both treated Pumpkin with compassion and kindness. *****I have never had a more pleasant veterinary experience. ***** I was extremely anxious regarding Pumpkin's emergency, but they made us both feel prioritized and comforted. I hope this business thrives forever. They are truly amazing. The night before my wedding, my wedding party came to my home to prepare for the next day. A wedding a huge for everyone but considering the 6 figures that we'd spent on it, we couldn't afford for anything to go wrong leading up to the day. But...unfortunately, it happened. Two of my three dogs got into a HUGE fight because of all the commotion in the house. I think being excited by all of the guests and resource guarding from my most traumatized dog, it led to a very bloody fight at midnight...and it wasn't just theirs but mine too. I was so distraught by my dogs being so hurt, my wedding day was the last thing I even cared about. My husband, always being a hero of mine, reminded me there was an emergency vet down the street from us. He assured me things would be okay and begged me to stay home and try to relax as much as possible while he rushed our dogs to VEG. He texted my wedding party updates telling them how kind the staff was and how much care they were giving my dogs. They're my priority above all things, including my wedding day. My husband mentioned to the staff that we were just hours away from our wedding day and the ENTIRE staff suddenly picked up their pace. They didn't have to go above and beyond and they did exactly that. They got my dogs out of there in about 45 minutes-- even while they had other patients prior to us getting there. I'm so so so grateful. Yes, their prices are a little higher than normal but they are an EMERGENCY vet, open 24 hours. Please understand that these people are giving us hours of their lives at odd hours that most of us don't want to work in order to take care of our pets in an emergency. Our regular vet closes over the weekend and if you experience this you understand how frightening it is to have a 3 day weekend before you and don't know where to go with your much loved dog who is fading away before your eyes. VEG saved his life and we will be forever grateful! He was diagnosed with Pancreatitis, he had not eaten for 4 days, no water for over 2 days, but he is recovered and doing great today! We brought our dog here for an emergency after he became sick and they found rocks in his stomach. The staff acted quickly and admitted him overnight. A moment that stood out was how a discussion about resuscitation and emergency decisions was presented. While I understand these are necessary conversations in emergency medicine, the tone felt very abrupt and clinical in an already emotional situation. I feel that this woman could have been a little more compassionate with how to deliver that. The communication and coordination of care after that point was extremely difficult. We agreed to proceed with treatment and paid based on the plan presented. After this, we were later informed that the equipment needed to complete the procedure was not functioning. At that point, we were told we would need to pick up our dog and take him to another hospital to continue treatment. This was very upsetting, especially given that we had already committed both emotionally and financially to the care plan. We also had to call ourselves the next morning for an update, as we were not proactively informed about whether he had passed any of the rocks. It was surprising to learn that no one had already reached out to us with these updates. We were later told he had passed some of the rocks, but not all. While I appreciate that they identified the issue and provided initial emergency care, the lack of communication along with inconsistent updates and being asked to transfer care after already committing to a treatment plan and payment made this an even more stressful experience...the female doctor was really nice though. read more

My tiny beast was fine in the afternoon. That evening she became very lethargic and was laying in corners of the rooms and completely not herself. I woke up at 2am to find her trying to vomit. I turned on the light to what I can only describe as a murder scene. Diarrhea and blood everywhere in the front room. I function very well in chaos but, when it comes to my little....different story. Frantically I started searching for a 24hour vet. I found VEG and called. I spoke to an incredibly nice young lady and explained what was happening. She told me to bring her in. I got to VEG a little after 2am and upon arriving, they were working another case. That case didn't end well (Parvo) and although heartbreaking, the staff handled the situation and the owner of that pup incredibly well. The staff then helped me out. Dr Kat came over, got an idea of what was going on. Doc did an ultrasound, explained she would like to do xrays at a minimum but, it would be cheaper at my regular vet than the ER. We talked and Doc did the X-rays, sent them out and conferred with the radiologist within an hour. They gave the beast a shot for nausea. Doc explained she felt it was aspirated pneumonia. Dangerous but, manageable and recoverable. Due the little being hydrated, that helped alleviate some concern. Doc explained the meds she wanted to prescribe and that I could get two OTC for less expense. I wanted everything done then so that I could get the little back to normal as soon as possible. We were on the way home by 6am with meds and instructions. I can't say enough about Dr Kat and her staff. Incredibly professional, empathetic, knowledgeable, caring and soft when interacting with me. I see some reviews referencing cost so, let me say this....it's an Emergency Vet. They are going to more just like if we went to the ER vs our own doctor. That being said, my bill was very reasonable for the circumstances. I also felt that Doc and the staff didn't treat it as a business or money generator. At no time did anyone try to upsell anything, recommend treatments or meds that weren't needed, "ring" the bill up. If anything, they were incredibly caring and tried to save me undo expense. If you love your pup as much as I do and find yourself outside normal hours and needing medical care, please don't hesitate to contact VEG on N Stephanie. You can absolutely count on a staff that actually cares about you and your animals without breaking the bank unnecessarily. On Sunday, May 3, 2026, we brought our dog, Daisy, to your Henderson, Nevada emergency veterinary facility because she was experiencing significant nose bleeding. We arrived at approximately 12:30 p.m. Daisy was triaged shortly after arrival, and we were moved into an examination room to wait for the veterinarian. When the veterinarian first examined Daisy, he stated that he believed the bleeding was likely environmental in nature and recommended initial bloodwork. Prior to testing, we were informed that we would receive a text message with the estimated costs for the procedures. We approved and paid approximately $900 for the initial diagnostics. Approximately one hour later, the veterinarian returned and informed us that Daisy's liver enzymes and white blood cell count were elevated, and that the issue might be autoimmune-related. He recommended additional testing and advised us that another estimate would be sent. We approved and paid an additional estimated amount of approximately $1,400. Shortly thereafter, Daisy began bleeding heavily from her nose. Veterinary assistants entered the room and attempted to control the bleeding. Although they managed to slow the bleeding somewhat, it never fully stopped. At that point, we were left in a room with blood covering much of the floor. I eventually had to retrieve a towel from my vehicle so Daisy would not have to lie in her own blood. Several hours later, the veterinarian returned and stated that Daisy's additional bloodwork had come back normal and that it was no longer believed to be an autoimmune issue. He still recommended an ultrasound and X-rays to rule out additional abnormalities. During this time, Daisy continued bleeding continuously. Both my son and I became covered in blood while attempting to keep her calm and comfortable. I asked one of the veterinary assistants if I could have a mop or cleaning supplies to clean the blood from the floor. I was told, "No, she is going to continue to bleed, so there is no point." This occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. We then remained in that same room, surrounded by blood, for approximately three additional hours. The ultrasound and X-rays were eventually completed, and we were informed that both appeared normal. At approximately 9:30 p.m., the veterinarian entered the room and stated that he did not know what was causing Daisy's condition and intended to discharge her to go home, despite the fact that she was still actively and heavily bleeding from her nose. We live approximately two hours away from your facility, yet we were advised to transport our dog home in that condition and simply follow up with our regular veterinarian the following morning. The veterinarian also informed us that your facility did not have the equipment necessary to scope Daisy's nasal passages to determine whether there was a mass or other source of the bleeding. I then asked whether there was another emergency veterinary facility in the Las Vegas area that had the necessary equipment and capabilities. The veterinarian confirmed that there was another facility available, and I requested that he contact them. After spending approximately eight hours at your facility, sitting in a room covered in blood while our dog continued to bleed without resolution or meaningful treatment, we were effectively told, "I don't know what's wrong with her, so I'm going to send her home." Despite paying approximately $2,300 in diagnostic and emergency care charges, no diagnosis or effective stabilization was provided. Thankfully, we chose not to follow the recommendation to take Daisy home. We immediately transported her to another emergency veterinary hospital, where the staff treated her appropriately and informed us that sending her home in that condition could have resulted in her bleeding to death. This experience was traumatic, unacceptable, and deeply concerning. At no point should a critically bleeding animal and her family have been left for hours in unsanitary conditions without adequate intervention, communication, or escalation of care. I am submitting this complaint because I believe the level of care Daisy received fell far below the standard we expected from an emergency veterinarian. read more

I brought my dog in last week when she was uncharacteristically lethargic, uninterested in food, and just looking sad. I was there visiting my folks, so I didn't know where to take her for emergency care. This place 'VEG' came up in my quick search for somewhere nearby. I called ahead to let them know I was coming in (I like to get on a waitlist as fast as I can, if it's possible). They sent me the intake form, which was quick to fill out. When we came in, someone greeted us immediately and got us seated and checked in. Someone came and talked to us within a minute or two. The vet (Dr. Lorenza 'last name' I don't remember) we worked with was really great; she listened to my dog's lungs and knew immediately that something was a little off. She set up an ultrasound and saw some fluid/inflammation. To be cautious, she offered to do X Rays if I was amenable, which I was. Hey, I'm a paranoid pet parent! Anyway, they were very gentle with my dog and with all the other patients I saw. The layout they have for the facility is unique. It's primarily open and you can pretty much always see your dog and stay with them. While there are some smaller private rooms, most of the place looks to be a giant floor with different exam tables. After the X rays and bloodwork revealed that my dog was not poisoned or suffering anything crazy, they gave her some anti-nausea medicine and sent us home. Dr. L said she'd be happy to look at my dog again for no charge the next day to make sure she was trending in the right direction. My dog is now feeling much better and is back to normal, thankfully. All in all, this was a great experience. Dr. L was very thorough, clear, and kind, as were all the techs I interacted with. I cannot really speak to the price, but it did not seem excessively expensive for what they were doing. So here's a long story of why my experience went from amazing to horrific with this hospital. I brought my cat in as she was definitely knocking on heavens door. She's diabetic and was diagnosed with ketoacidosis, Outlook not so good at all. I love my baby Panda so the cost wasn't an issue, $6,000 the first day. She made a miraculous comeback overnight, the doctor herself told me she's never seen such a recovery from the condition she was in and was amazed at my little Panda's overnight turnaround. She wasn't out of the woods just yet however, she still definitely needed treatment. Day 2, another $4000. Now Panda is doing remarkably well and is close to being taken off all IVs and the feeding tube she had. Every time I came to visit she was so excited to see me and I was so happy she was doing so well! Day 3, another $4000. Now Panda is eating and drinking on her own, only 2 IVs of the original 7 still in use, and those were ready to come out as well, no feeding tube and she's using the litter box on her own. She was 95% or more fully recovered. I wanted to bring her home. The traveling vet they had working there at the time coerced me into another day for 'observations' she honestly did not need. I reluctantly agreed, but should not have, she was ready to come home. Next day I come to pick her up, it's another $4000, for keeping her overnight. No IVs, no feeding tube, no critical care given, nothing that could realistically constitute charging another $4000. Just observations. I picked her up around 6, didn't leave until around 630, which was 30 minutes before it was time for her next food time and insulin dose was scheduled, so it was kind of a rush situation to get her home, feed her, and give her insulin shot. This is where things went really wrong. I did not have time to read through all the discharge papers so they explained to me the process, however they did not provide me with the proper syringes as they were supposed to. I had informed them I had leftover U40 syringes from her previous insulin prescription, this is critical information. They prescribed a dosage that was meant for U100 syringes. They told me 3 units, however the actual prescription called for 2 units. Without receiving the proper syringes from them as was stated I was to receive in the discharge papers, I used the U40 syringe and followed the 3 unit dosage they told me. This resulted in me administering over 3x the prescribed dosage of insulin, and her sugar level crashed to an extremely dangerous low, nearly causing her to go into a diabetic coma. I called the hospital and they informed me to give her sugar on her gums to bring her level up, which it did, but I subsequently administered her next 2 doses the same way, and got the same result. Blood sugar level crashed to dangerous low. I was able to bring her level back up each time thankfully because I watched and tested her sugar level consistently. The hand written instructions specifically said do not test her sugar level, however if I hadn't, she would have died. I took her to her regular vet the next day and explained what was going on, the first thing they asked was what size syringes was I using. I didn't know there were different kinds. They knew immediately the issue, but the ER clinic somehow forgot to mention that extremely vital piece of information. Because of this I did not pay the last $4000 for the extra day of unnecessary observations they convinced me of. When I went to refill her insulin prescription, they refused to authorize it due to the outstanding balance owed. So they were willing to just let Panda die because they didn't get the last $4000. Keep in mind I had already paid in full $14,000 for her care. They just refused to authorize her refill again, which is not only unethical, but actually illegal here in Nevada. They cannot refuse to authorize a medication in which certain harm or injury will occur by doing so. They aren't obligated to provide it, but they legally cannot refuse the authorization. I will be following up with the proper authorities to have this investigated and hopefully have these people lose their licensing to practice veterinary medical services. They were willing to let my cat die because of greed. So much for their Hippocratic oath, money is more important than the life of an innocent pet who did nothing wrong. Horrible people. read more

I am only here to say Logan was a human being to me and I have so much love for a complete stranger. I was greeted and directed to a small waiting area to the left and then someone came to take my information. And then a really nice nurse came to take Abby's vitals. Soon after, the doctor came to me and did the examination right there. No back room because everything is out in the open! I appreciated the exam from Dr. Allen and could easily chat with him about concerns and symptoms and his diagnoses. He was very thorough. It's very clean and all staff were really welcoming. It is open 24/7 and I found them by searching for an emergency Vet in Henderson. They had very good reviews. Thankfully, it wasn't as serious as I feared and I will follow up with my regular vet. The front desk immediately took all my info, she was fantastic, and a wonderful, caring doctor came over to us and checked out my Jake to make sure there was not an immediate need. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt at ease. The team was incredibly efficient--check-in was quick, and they immediately began taking vitals for my pup. The doctor came over promptly and was refreshingly transparent, clearly explaining his thoughts and outlining a game plan that made me feel informed and confident. On Saturday my 2 year old male cat was showing signs of a blockage, this vet was the closest and only place open near us. We rushed him over and phoned them before that we were coming in. The minute we entered the clinic they IMMEDIATELY started working on him, 5 vets! It was amazing how fast their response time was to attend him. He had a lot of complications and they literally saved my cats life. After they discharged him to us I (like the crazy cat mom I am) called them around 50 times hahah with question after question and each time they answered with thoughtful responses to my worried questions and never hesitated. I had to make the decision to put my dog down and my family was unable to be there. But I didn't feel alone. I had to bring in my dog after he had a couple days of fighting with kidney failure and we decided we had to let him go. The experience of having to put our dog to sleep was brutal, but I want to thank the people who helped us out at around 4:30am on 4/5/25. I had never been to VEG but it was the middle of the night and we had to end our pet's suffering. I called ahead and we got right in and the young man and woman who helped us out were fantastic. They took us to a private room and explained everything. We got to be there and say our goodbyes, it was very humane and the staff was awesome. It was an awful experience to go through but the people we dealt with were great. They were compassionate and professional. I appreciate your help on that night and recommend VEG highly. read more

Last night Winston, our Welsh Pembroke Corgi, was in pain and favoring his right front leg. We brought him in to VEG and had a positive experience! Dr. Will Allen was the Veterinarian on call and he and his staff were true professionals. Winston tends to be very anxious; it was difficult to get him sedated properly so that they could take x-rays. Winston did not want to lie on his side. There were two nurses whose names I don't know who were gentle and worked to give him the proper dosage and then they handled him gently as they took the x-rays. It turns out that Winston has degenerative arthritis in his shoulders. Of course we are following up with our regular vet but Dr. Allen gave him a prescription for pain medication and a thorough write up that we can take to our vet. Besides Dr. Allen and the two nurses I would like to give a shout out to Kasey and Francisco. read more

First time ever with a VET ER like this. We brought Ziggy out old dog, and the process was very smooth. They took care of Ziggy first before anything else, triaged situation well, and we felt very comfortable that we were beside Ziggy the whole time. The doctor who saw us, Dr Izaguirre was very professional, figured out what was going on even before diagnostics and was very empathetic. All the vet techs were very professional and nice. They formed a treatment plan, and while they gave their recommendation, they let us do our own decision - and worked with our decision. Their work stations were clean and sanitized. The areas where dogs stay are also very hygienic and they have an oxygen chamber that Ziggy although he hated it all, eventually fell asleep on. I would give 10 starts if I could. A few months old to write this review, but I went to VEG in Henderson with my Jack Russell late at night after continuous vomiting and diarrhea that turned out to be HGE. VEG was absolutely amazing! We were there for almost 24 hours. They gave us a room so we could stay with our dog the whole time. Everything about the care to the staff was 10-stars in my book. Extremely grateful for this ER vet. I wish they could be my dogs primary vet. My dog recovered and is back to normal. Thank you again VEG! read more

We said goodbye to our fur-baby last night only after spending less than 4 months with her. Our puppy was very sick and the doctors and staff did as much as they could to help her. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye. The facility is unique compared to other veterinary practices we've visited. Upon walking in, the first thing you'll notice is an open floor plan wherein families can witness procedures and treatments from as close as safely possible or far from an open waiting area. The facility is human friendly, they stock up a snack bar with non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, and coffee so you don't have to leave your furbaby if you need a drink or snack. They are meticulously clean, we were there for a few hours and someone was always mopping and sanitizing. The staff and doctor was very professional and empathetic, they were tactful in being matter of fact. They gave us lots of time with our furbaby in a private room to say our prayers and love on her before we let her go. read more
