Westies can be pretty sceptical meeting a new person at eye level while leashed, she takes the time to let the dogs get to know her voice, and has a gentle touch. ****UPDATE**** Recently brought my newest fur baby Kylo to…read moreAt Home. We brought him here initially because of the great experience we had in the past. Our Favorite vet, Dr. Kate, is no longer here. I brought Kylo in to get chipped because we have another cat with a weight problem, so we got feeders that work with chips. They do come with collar tags, but our cats are strictly indoor cats, and are not used to collars...so chips would work out best in the long run. We scheduled an appointment to get Kylo chipped. When Dr. Pepin came in, she first advised me that I should have had him chipped when he was neutered. I told her that at the time, it was not an issue, and it was an expensive option, so we didn't feel the need for it. She then told me that it's a big needle and it's better for it to be done when they are already sedated...I understood, but at the same time, we didn't need it done, so it is what it is. She still seemed to judge me, and said, "well, maybe you'll be better informed next time." She then proceeded to tell me they would try, but that the last time Kylo was in, he was a bit troublesome and they might not be able to do it because of his behavior. The last time he was there, he was a kitten. He has NEVER been aggressive, or any sort of problem whatsoever...I asked why she would say that, and Dr. Peppin said he was a problem at the end of his visit, which I don't believe for a second. He was a baby...She then discredited me and said "well it he was a problem at the end"...What end? Then aske if I was sure that we never had him chipped. I said I was positive, and she said, "we'll scan him just to make sure your memory is good". How condescending can you be? I loved brining my animals here, but this ruined everything. When my elderly cat who was 18 yrs old died, the doctor at the time was the sweetest and most supportive person I could ever hope for. Dr. Kate. Dr. Pepin, the opposite. I will be leaving At Home because of this. The judgement was unexpected, and definitely unjustified. I am a pretty confident person. I would not say I am overly sensitive, I can take abuse, but I love my cat, and I always have what is best for him in mind....So I didn't have him chipped when he was neutered, well that was a year ago, we are past that now...do I wish I would have done it then, Yes...but can I do anything about it now...No...But to be told, "well, now you'll be better educated for the next time"...as if I am some ignorant a hole pet owner, was too much. Goodbye. My family, who brings all their pets to you, will be leaving. It was a good run, and the rest of the staff for the most part is probably great, but this was the straw the camel didn't see coming....

Within the last year I adopted a healthy, elderly cat. Always kind of a picky eater, last week she…read morestopped eating completely. I had not yet taken her to a vet, so I called At Home Animal Clinic on the advice of a friend. They were able to fit me in that day, but were unable to do lab work because the cat was so dehydrated. They rehydrated her and gave her medication to help with her touchy stomach and had me bring her in the next day for blood work. When the results came in, they were not good. I made the difficult decision to have her euthanized. At Home accommodated us quickly so kitty would not continue to suffer. They were gentle and compassionate, and I felt their prices were reasonable. I highly recommend them.

I simply wanted to make him comfortable during his last months.

I didn't have any urgent needs so I was okay with waiting, but once I got there, after confirming my appointment that I had for over two weeks, I was told that the vet had been double booked. I do understand that emergencies happen and they were apologetic about the long wait time I endured, but I just needed vaccinations for my kitten. With my other cats, that is a 10 minute appointment at different vet clinics in my hometown. I was at cedar pet clinic for about 2 hours to get two vaccines. They did include a "complimentary" blood test, but on the receipt I got, there was a charge for $111 for testing of the blood. Overall the appointment cost me $325 including the $50 appointment deposit I was required to pay, they did apply that to my total, but that cost still seems insane for vaccines, which was all that I really wanted/needed. Overall my experience there wasn't bad. The staff was nice, but I did not feel that the appointment was worth over $300. I also got a quote for a neuter and microchip in the $800 range which is insanely high in my opinion, especially when programs for low cost spay/neuter are out there and easily accessible. It was odd that they took my kitten into the back to perform the vaccines and everything else they did, but maybe that's just how things are done these days, but it did seem odd that they couldn't give him a few shots and draw blood in the room with me. Again, my experience here wasn't bad, but for the cost and the wait time I experienced, I will not be returning to this vet clinic and I would not recommend taking your business here.

I can say to my dog, "we're going to the vet!" and her tail starts wagging because she knows she's about to be loved on, even when she needs to get s-h-o-t-s. Rivertown has not only been an amazing partner in my dog's routine care, but they're so flexible. They've fit us in for emergency visits (I have a dramatic dog, and I'm a worried dog mom), have let us pick up flea, tick, and heartworm meds quickly and without hassle, and even fit us in for a last-minute routine test when I didn't realize we were overdue! Maggie was spayed here by Dr. Garlie and I couldn't find her scar even if I tried. I've never seen a dog heal so quickly and without any issues at all! While the price may be higher than other local competitors, you truly get what you pay for here, which is incredible staff and service and knowledgeable, caring doctors who make each visit an amazing experience for your pet.

With 3 cats, vet appointments have become so much more…read morepleasant since House Paws started coming to us, rather then my trying to wrangle the felines into carriers and suffer through the yowling to and from. Ann and Michon are personable, attentive, and thoughtful... three qualities that don't often come together in vet care, at least in my experience. Because House Paws is a mobile service, you do have to do some planning ahead to get your appointment scheduled - which is more true now as more folks are finding out about this service. However, when I've had concerns, Ann has been incredibly responsive and available (even if she's answering emails late at night). After my little guy had surgery, her follow up was fantastic. She's also quite pragmatic, offering a range of services and helping pet owners make informed, reasonable AND reasoned decisions about appropriate care. She's not judgmental, but will offer an opinion when asked. So much preferable to the high-pressure sales I've experienced at other places, particularly chains like banfield.
