Dr.Siegal and his entire team are some of the most caring, efficient, safe and dependable people…read morewe've ever met. They are remarkable communicators, and I love that they do not try to up sell you. They respect your boundaries and financial health, they never try to push or guilt trip you. Best of all, they do not tell you wildly outrageous ideas on what might be the cause of x, y, z. Every time we have met with Dr. Seigal whether it is in person or over the phone, we've always felt he was such a generous, gracious person. We never felt rushed. When I ask his staff a question and they don't know the answer, they are always honest and polite and will tell you they don't know and will proceed to place you on a brief hold so they can get the correct information. The staff has a good attitude and assume that you are a caring owner. When Dr. Siegal says he'll call you or do anything, he always holds his word and he even called us when he was out of town. The facility is extremely clean, the cleanest vet I've ever been to. There are so many reasons why you should consider Dr. Siegal and his team, these are just a few. Plenty of parking in their private shared lot and street parking. Very cute stores, restaurants, and fitness yoga studios nearby so if you are coming from further away and need to leave your pet for a few hours you can totally patronize some of the other local businesses. Overall 10/10 experience. I'm glad we took a chance on this vet. To be fair we had exhausted many of the other highly rated vets in the San Fernando valley area and none of them cut it. Are you paying a little more to see the doctor here and get the tests and other services? Yes, probably a little more. However, for me personally, it's completely justified because of the integrity and seamless experiences we've had. Lastly, every single time we have gone in for our appointment, we haven't had to wait longer than 5 minutes. Also they are always giving you a warm greeting which I literally cannot say about any of the other vets. Last little detail, but really there's no detail too small, I have not seen any of the staff doom scroll or look checked out. When they are on the clock, they appear to be working and they seem dedicated. Little things like that have a major impact on professionalism and trust. If I see anyone on the clock doom scrolling or just super engaged on their cell phone it is 100% a red flag and a sign that they don't care, aka my sign to leave a business and not return. I want to spend my hard earned money on places that are invested and care. Dr. Siegal and his staff seem happy and I believe a happy staff is a more efficient staff. It is a safe space, you can openly share your concerns, wants and needs- they are listening with open hearts and they genuinely care. Sadly I've been to probably more than eight different vets and none of them have even come close to Dr. Siegal. Because of those awful experiences, I was starting to lose hope. But I knew from our first phone call with Dr. Siegal's office, when I was literally picking their brain and asking 20+ questions and complaining about past experiences, I knew they were the one because they never made me feel rushed, I never felt judged, I never felt unappreciated and I felt they were truly listening and caring. Anyways, I'm just extremely grateful for Dr.Siegal and his staff.

I took my 15-year, 8-month-old dog "Champ" to the clinic for a rabies antibody (titer) test required for international travel. Dr. Kiumarsi knew my dog's age and medical history, yet no one explained that, because of his advanced age, there was a possibility his antibody level might be too low to pass the test or discussed giving him a rabies booster before performing the expensive titer test. I paid nearly $600 for the test, and the result came back negative. Only afterward was I told to bring my dog back for a rabies booster, wait another month, and then pay for a second titer test. This delayed my travel plans to Turkey by almost four weeks and increased my expenses. My frustration is not that the test was negative--it is that I was never informed beforehand about the risk of a failed result or the option of administering a booster first. Had I been given that information, I could have made an informed decision and potentially avoided unnecessary cost and delay. I expected honest guidance and recommendations that considered both my dog's wellbeing and my time and financial investment. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at Townsgate Pet Hospital. Absolutely, ONE MILLION % the WORST veterinary care I have ever subjected my fur babies to. EVER…read more This was about 13 years ago, HOPEFULLY new Vets and front office staff. Please dear God in heaven I was actually accused by a vet of MAKING THEM SICK BECAUSE I AM DISABLED Not only that, but I should GIVE THEM UP The front desk was so RUDE that it made me a nervous wreck just going in there. One of the babies WAS SICK, VERY sick and NOT from me, TYVM She was actually suffering from a diseased gallbladder, the BAD dog food scare and my nerves from going in there to begin with. They did NOT pick up Jack So, rule one, if the front desk does NOT make you feel anything other than, turn around and RUN. FAST. REALLY, REALLY FAST. If a vet ever accuses you of "making" your pet ill, ditto above. RUN FOR YOUR PETS LIFE, and your sanity. If I could give a ZERO I WOULD. I will say that I am using VCA in another state and the front desk is pretty nice, epically nice some days. I have had pretty good Vets, NOT stellar like at Ethos Vets which was ALWAYS STELLAR, 100%. I totally sympathize about the refilling of prescriptions and HAVING to go into the office for new scripts. I NEVER get meds from them. Walmart combined with GoodRX saves me a BUNDLE. VCA says that the scrip refills are handed down from Corporate and their hands are tied. IDK, I am disabled and I have Walmart DELIVERY so this totally screws me over having to go to Walmart and blah blah blah. WCYD

We were referred to Access in Woodland Hills without any meaningful warning about what that experience would be like. At no point were we told that Access requires full payment up front, offers no flexibility, or operates in a way that prioritizes financial compliance over humane communication. Had we known this in advance, we would have asked for other referral options. What was most upsetting is that when we later experienced dismissive and coercive treatment at Access, it became clear that this was not an anomaly. Many independent specialty clinics do offer payment plans, transparent conversations, or at least respectful explanations of alternatives. None of that context was shared with us before the referral. A referring veterinarian has a responsibility to do more than simply hand off a case. Referrals should include guidance, informed consent, and a clear picture of what a client is walking into, especially when the situation is urgent and emotionally charged. By sending us to Access in Woodland Hills without preparation or options, this clinic put us in an unnecessarily distressing situation at one of the most vulnerable moments a pet owner can experience. I expected advocacy and transparency. I did not expect to feel abandoned when guidance mattered most.

Sometimes you don't notice what's missing until you have a better experience. My cat was drooling and was not eating as much. I took her in and the vet weighed her and looked at her for all of 5 minutes and then my cat crawled into my lap. She chatted us up for a few more minutes and then left. Someone came in with a bill for $700 with appetite stimulants stool softeners blood work and of course the $90 exam visit. 3 weeks later I took her down to green dog Dental who had taken care of her teeth the year prior. A 5-minute exam of her mouth showed she had cancer in her jaw. It was plain as day. They loaded me up with painkillers and said feed her whatever she will eat until she will not eat anymore. I think I got 10 more days before her jaw locked up, she could not eat or drink, and I had to euthanize her. Never again will I trust Animal Hospital of Thousand Oaks. According to those reviews, was my experience was a fluke? I don't know--I don't know what to think now. Fortunately, though, I got lucky and was the only one there at that time of night so I received immediate and uninterrupted service. I brought my 15 yr old cat in for an emergency last Friday night at 11:30pm for a neurological event and ultimately had to euthanize him. I've read some bad reviews that talk about Drs pushing euthanasia, but that was absolutely not the case here. Based on the way he presented it could only have been a stroke, aneurysm, tumor or something else in the brain, so there was clearly no alternative (and I'm not going to put a cat through brain surgery). I already had the knowledge of labs/urine when my Dr gave him a clean bill of health 2-days prior (ironically). The Dr at VSEC and I decided to shoot an xray or two just to make sure there was nothing blatantly obvious like a mass but they were clean. This helped us arrive at the correct conclusion. I also requested that he just interpret the xrays rather than sending them to the stat radiologist and he accommodated me. (WOW, someone actually saying they saved money at this place!--remember to advocate for yourself!) The Dr (Sorry I don't remember his name) I worked with was 10/10, couldn't have been more compassionate, and helped me through the decision-making process. I was able to spend as much time with the cat as I wanted before and after we put him to sleep...and I spent nearly an hour and was never bothered or hurried. So as lousy as that was, the experience was the best I could have hoped for. No complaints about the tech or the girl I talked to on the phone that told me to drive safely.

Worst experience at this place, especially dealing with Cody from the emergency department …read more I've been a loyal customer for years and never had any issues before. Recently, I learned they have different staff, Emergency team and Cardiology specialist staff on different days. The cardiology technician and doctor I normally work with are amazing. They are only there on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. On the other days, it's been a nightmare, and I would strongly advise against going then. Prices were quoted nearly four times higher. For my dog, we have always done a single-view X-ray. However, Cody insisted on doing a three-view X-ray, which would have cost almost $1,300. I asked if it was possible to do the single view, as I've done for years with the other doctor. Cody responded by saying I am not a doctor and that if I wasn't happy, I could go somewhere else. I honestly did not feel any compassion from him and found him to be cold and dismissive. When I mentioned I would leave a review, he said he didn't care and told me to go ahead. I felt forced and helpless at that point and signed a release form to discharge my dog. I left feeling hurt and distressed.
