Finding a vegan restaurant in a strange town always feels like a safe haven. You don't have to be the bothersome customer asking "Is this made with chicken broth?" or "Does it contain bacon?" Any one who has dined at a veg restaurant knows the employees resemble hippies- full of love and patience. And yes, even in a different country, this is the same. Very laid back and friendly. We did not have a reservation but since we arrived early enough, we were able to get a table upstairs. A small and cozy diner, complete with a large alcove that contained tons of comfy pillows. We had not had a healthy meal since arriving to Frankfurt, at least not like we are used to at home. This was a blessing to us. My husband ordered the Protein Plate, complete with beans, beetroot, and black bean spaghetti. He absolutely loved it. I had the Vevay Plate, which had I would say 10 different items. This included, but not limited to, hummus, lentils, chickpeas, a rocket salad (huge in Germany) Falafel and couscous. My stomach is usually endless, but this filled me up quickly and I could not finish it. Lots of "yums" were heard from our table. We were too full to try the dessert, unfortunately. The vegan cheesecake looked delicious! I would definitely eat at Vevay again if we return to Frankfurt. Good stuff! Came in about noon and the place was pretty full. Seating was taken upstairs and on the first floor so I say outside with my sister. We arrived at a good time because it was completely full within 10 minutes. The only bad part was that I had to spend a majority of the time breathing in someones second hand smoke. They have vegetarian and vegan options and have eggs on the menu. I got a vegan protein bowl and my sister for a vegan falafel burger. She was happy with her burger and said it was pretty good. My protein bowl was also pretty good but it wasn't spectacular. The bowl was a bit expensive but the food was good, the service was good and the atmosphere was nice but I wouldn't necessarily suggest it to come again. I'm not vegan, but I loved this restaurant so much that I came twice on my week-long trip to Germany. It's THAT good. Both times I came it was a little busy, but the crowds died down after half an hour or so. If you can, come after lunch and you'll have a good selection of seats. One thing I have to recommend is the energy booster smoothie. It's incredible and probably one of the reasons I didn't get sick. Yummy and filled with nutrients! One time I tried the VEVAY dish, and the other the udon noodles. Both were wonderful and I'm getting hungry just thinking of them. The desserts are nice, but not anything special. I went around 1:30pm, and the restaurant's upstairs seating area was full, but I didn't have a problem finding a table. I ordered the Reisnudeln Papaya Bowl (12,90€) and the hausgemachter Pfefferminz-Zintronengras-Eistee (0,4 L - 3,90€). The rice noodle bowl was served hot and bought out to me quickly. It was tasty, filling, and a bit spicy. The iced tea I unfortunately didn't get until after I had gotten my food and asked my waitress, but it, too, was good and refreshing on a hot day. Given VEVAY's proximity to the city center and healthy options, I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for alternatives to some of the heavier German food nearby. read more

Top notch breakfast spot right in the heart of Frankfurt! Came to this location right before catching a train. It's a little ways from the station but it was on my list since it's one of the top rated vegetarian places in Frankfurt. When you arrive make sure to ask for the English menu and head straight upstairs. The dining area upstairs is adorable and decorated very well. They even have a large pillow lounge section, if you are into that. We ordered coffee with almond milk, an acia bowl, and the Vevay (with real eggs). The coffee was normal but the food was unbelievable! Every bite made me want it to regenerate so the meal would never end. The acai bowl was so fresh! The hummus and jam from the Vevay plate was amazing. It paired perfectly with the bread served with the dish. Even though the acai bowl was mine, I kept stealing bites from the Vevay plate. My fiance didn't mind since it was so large. From these two dishes my fiancé and I were satisfied and ready to take on the day. I'd recommend this to my non vegetarian friends as a good meal to make sure your awake and not too weighed down by a heavy breakfast. read more

Look - I may not be an expert on vegan cuisine, but I went here because I was curious, I wanted to make a healthy choice and "see" what a vegan meal could look like. I was not disappointed. I tried the Protein Bowl with black bean spaghetti, avocado, beetroot, lentil salad, sugar snaps, sweet potato and hemp seeds. It was presented well and the flavours were awesome!! By the end I was satisfied and full, not bloated at all, and most importantly, felt good because I made a healthy choice!! When we went downstairs to pay, I eyed the cakes in the display and one of the staff said they were all vegan cakes! So, better try one of them next time, because they looked so delicious! It's just located near the station at Willy-Brandt-Platz, so it is well situated. Overall, the food and the ambiance of this place located conveniently in the main center of Frankfurt was wonderful! Came here for lunch with my mom. Did not make a reservation beforehand but luckily there were enough seats so we did not have to wait for a table. Our server had an attitude when obtaining our order which was off-putting especially when the wrong order came out for us. But another server was pleasant as she gave us our food, which was delicious! We ordered the falafel burger without the bbq sauce and the protein bowl with a side of hot sauce. It's inevitable that close to the heart of the Frankfurt financial district, you're going to have a veg-friendly place that is pricy, has food from a few places around the world, and is at least a little pretentious. Vevay checks all those boxes, combined with indifferent attention and (ironically, for a place by the financial district) only cash service. The menu has some length, but few dishes that particularly stand out as unique, unusual, or even all that hard to prepare. I honestly couldn't get excited about any particular dish. And the food was good, but not exceptional. It's nice that Frankfurt has more veg options these days, but I suspect I'd only come back here if I were already in the vicinity. read more

A friend recommended Vevay to us (2 vegan, 1 vegetarian). Although parking was a bit of a challenge because it was book fair Saturday, it was absolutely worth the effort :) So far my favorite vegan spot in town! We split 3 dishes between us (see pics) and each one was delicious and a good portion for the price. It's a tough call but my favorite was probably the Vevay dish. The first thing that caught my attention on the menu though was the "Eulchen" (tiny owl) beer, which I ordered just for it's name :) turned out to be good, too though. The restaurant has a personal feel to it and the friendly staff adds to that. Lots of gluten free options, too and a big partly raw cake selection (coconut choc one was delic.). haven't tried their coffee yet so will have to come back :) Although it is cash only the food makes up for that and I give 5 stars and say: #VeganVentures approved! read more

Went for lunch with three girlfriends. One of us ordered the sweet potato salad and it came with a LIVE MOTH in it!!! The server was pretty unapologetic. Simply took the plate away and stated that my friend wouldn't have to pay for the dish. How very generous. She did, however, have to pay for the drink she ordered. That was a huge disappointment. So if you consider going, check out their raw cakes or their avocado dishes. Vevay offers breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as desserts. We tried natural coconut water and Vanille Kiss Smoothie. Both a delight although the price 7,90€ for the smoothie was a little high. As starter, we had a creamy beetroot soup of the day. Hubby liked it, I preferred our vegan main dishes, the VEVAY dish and the Goji cashew rice. The VEVAY dish was a good mixture of hummus, cous cous, guacamole, chickpea salad, falafel, etc. whereas the Goji cashew rice was an inspiring mix of cashew, pomegranate rice with fried teriyaki tofu and grilled zucchini. For our dessert we chose a blueberry crumble cake, which was fruity and soft, and crunchy on top. Delicious!! All in all a wonderful experience with good food. Not impressed with the "experience". Not sure if I'll be back. Don't take my oder while washing dishes and looking at me over your shoulder. Don't make me stand there while you finish chopping ginger for 2 minutes. No hello. No goodbye. No "how was your meal". Any Döner place would have been friendlier. Wow! I just finished my meal from Vevay and it was phenomenal. I traveled to Frankfurt for work (home is San Francisco, so the vegan bar is high) and found Vevay on Happy Cow. It's relatively new, great ambiance - think natural materials, high ceilings, what looks like bamboo paneling. The owner of the restaurant was hanging out and super friendly. I ordered the baked tempeh over herbed rice and grean beans and devoured the whole thing in about 4 minutes flat. The rice was flavorful and light, green beans cooked perfectly, and the tempeh was to die for, and covered in avocado relish. I highly recommend. If work ever brings me back to Frankfurt, I'll be sure to stop by Vevay again. read more

VEVAY was one of the vegan restaurants I planned to go to in Frankfurt, and the only actual real restaurant. I came with my family, six people. I started with a smoothie, the protein one. It was pretty good. My brother got an energy smoothie and my sister a passionfruit lemonade. The lemonade was so great I ordered my own (but it wasn't made there). Then we got our food. The udon noodles were really good. The special, a sweet potato soup, was also amazing. It was creamy and sweet potatoey with a coconutty taste (made from coconut milk). The rice noodles with mango and papaya were also pretty good. The VEVAY plate was missing the chickpea salad probably because they were out, but they gave us extra couscous. Still was very good. For dessert we got both Zupfkuchen and a blueberry cheesecake. The blueberry cheesecake was good, but tasted like sweetened yogurt. The Zupfkuchen was so good that we got some at a different place the next day. Overall a very good experience, and would definitely return. read more
