We stumbled upon The Shop while hunting for other thrift stores in Port Hadlock (which all seemed…read moreto be closed or gone). I'm not sure I would suggest that you do the same, though. This odd little shop consists of a small house and an outdoor tent area. The front room is more what I'd call gifts and collectibles: costume jewelry, cheap toys, and novelty items (like those plastic plant beads that you're supposed to use instead of potting soil). The back rooms have more thrift-store-type used stuff: a couple of small racks of coats and clothing, but mostly old VHS tapes, books, and music. They do have a fair amount of $1 books, but many are old and dated without exactly being vintage/antique. The employee was intently watching the end of a movie when we walked in and didn't bother to greet us, but later got into a heated discussion with another customer about the type of engine on a used car the customer was trying to get the owner to buy, or something. The shop is so small that you can't escape anyone's conversation, so... it was pretty awkward. I guess this is a thrift shop in the sense that there are inexpensive used items for sale, but it appear to be a privately owned place and makes no mention of any proceeds going to a charitable cause. If you really want to thrift on the peninsula, I suggest you keep on going to Port Townsend, which at least has a Goodwill.

I've been to several shelters in the past year to adopt and it's been up and down. I went here on a Saturday after work and brought home my fur ever baby girl. I'm a proud happy fur mom . This is the happiest day of my life . I cried so many tears of joy when I was able to adopt my new female dog. I named her Sasha. Previously known as Oldsmobile. Sasha is the absolute sweetest girl ever. Sasha is what my heart needed. As a puppy she is very smart. Introducing to crate has been fairly well. Eating wow this girl can eat, run, do sprints around the house, yard and is super excited. I am too lol. Potty training is going very well in the morning she wakes me up with kisses to say she has to go and stands by door we go out. We have a routine. Totally recommend Homeward Per adoption to everyone. You will never be disappointed. The accept donations from you if your pet has passed away, been surrendered or you just want to donate, food, toys, supplies for dogs and cats. Well, I could continue to give praises all day. Gotta go mommy duty is calling.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PROPANE TANKS HERE !!!We have been doing business with this place numerous times…read more The normal guy who runs the place has been respectful and honset, fills up our propane bottles and inspects them when needed. But our experience this pass weekend was nothing but crap. This older guy had came out into the rain to fill our propane bottles. He turns the value on, Opens the tank, turns around notices the gauge isnt moving anywhere, notices there is no fuel going to my tank. Turns to me and says my value is bad without realizing that he forgot to open to the propane value to let the propane into my tank. He insisted my tank value is bad when exactly 2 weeks prior there best guy had just recertified my tank. My tank is fine because the place down the road took it in port townsend without a issue. All because he opened the value. DO NOT TAKE YOUR TANKS HERE. they tell you to fuck off, and every never come back. terrible business and rude people. Only one dude there is cool and he does not deserve to be working at such a horrid establishment.

After touring almost all of the preschools in Port Townsend and surrounding areas, I chose this…read moreschool for my two kids. The staff won me over with their love and dedication to this small non-profit tucked away in Port Hadlock. With minimal funding this school runs on a lot of love and help from the families who entrust this place for their childcare needs. The school has about 60 students total from toddler through 8th grade. The preschool is priced right and boasts being a part of the UW Early Achievers program. The school is founded on basic Christian principles, but is not overtly religious. At one point, the school was overseen by the Seventh Day Adventist church, but isn't any longer. As a hold over from that time, however, this is a vegetarian school. One of the only vegetarian school in WA! My kids have definitely grown to love vegetables while attending here. I've found the staff approachable and engaged and extremely loving and accommodating to families. I'm so grateful for this school!
