If you are traveling out of YYJ Airport and live nearby, then this is the place to go because: (1) The rapid-test can be done quickly, with the option of picking up the kit from their store in Sidney and taking the test, at home, via live video, scheduled in a timely manner, such as (as I leave this review) less than 24 hours ahead of my flight departure. (2) Far and Away Adventures was the strongly preferred choice by a close friend who has traveled to the U.S.A. by air within the past week who told me these two things: (a) Far and Away delivered the services and the results in a timely manner, as promised, and they were able to board their flight; and (b) many passengers were made late for their flight because they used another service that is located VERY VERY VERY CLOSE to the airport. If I am able, I will leave my review about that other service. The only drawback to the Far and Away Adventures setup is you must pay in advance, instead of just 24-hours ahead of time. While the policy is understandable -- I'll be picking up my COVID test within the week but won't be taking the test until early next month -- but if my flight (or all flights to the USA) get cancelled (due to travel restrictions, if re-imposed) then I have paid ahead of time... well... perhaps they would, in that hypothetical case, revise the policy, and I wouldn't mind paying a deposit upon picking up the test, and then paying the balance the day before my scheduled online test. Just remember DO NOT go to the place that's so-close-you-can-walk to the airport terminal.

This Visitors Centre is an all in one place for your travel needs. There's free brochures and maps,…read morebut this centre really stands out since you can also book hotels and tickets for local businesses, and make reservations for tours and transportation. It is very integrated and the staff are lovely. There's no pressure to buy anything either. You can just chit-chat about what you're interested and they'll recommend free and paid activities. The Centre is conveniently located steps from the Inner Harbour, and the clock tower makes it an easy landmark to navigate to especially if you've just stepped off a ferry or a seaplane. There's also pretty art and sculptures inside and outside of the building, so at least stop by and admire them for a quick second.

It's also within easy walking distance from the cruise ships and ferries and close to popular attractions (Royal BC Museum, Parliament Building, Beacon Hill Park, etc.) and shopping. The friendly folks at the Front Desk can give you good advice on places to see, tour packages, and dining options. There's also a large selection of brochures and posted information if you want something more self-directed.

The ferry drops you off in a great location in the Victoria Harbor. We liked the ferry and the ride. Dealing with customs, whether USA or Canada is always rough.

It didn't matter we had settled in for the evening after being there for four hours and there was no one else around - he was adamant we move our camper. If they want everyone to back in, they need to put the hookups on the right side so its possible to connect your camper to the power and water. The receptionist was wonderful but the maintenance guy needs a chip upgrade as his brain doesn't work so well. If you like to be harassed by morons, this is the ideal spot for your next vacation. Also they advertise wifi but it doesn't work. Other than that this place is great.

What a cool experience! It's a ferry that takes you to your destination when traveling around…read moreVictoria Harbour. You can totally see why it's needed just by looking at a map of the city. The harbor is divided into 4 active sections. The cruise ships dock at Ogden Point in the Outer Harbour. The water taxi services the Inner, Upper, and Middle Harbour. It's a great transport option that is more affordable than a standard taxi. There can be a wait time. You may want to book a water taxi ahead of time if you're traveling in a group. The boat can only take up to 12 passengers. Our BC Bites & Sights guide booked it in advance so there was only a 10 minute wait at the Fisherman's Wharf pick up point. We saw a couple of sights along the way. There was a great view of the seaplane port, and the Empress Hotel in the Inner Harbor. We also passed under the Johnson Street Bridge with its beautiful aqua blue lights. We arrived to our destination (Mermaid Wharf) in a matter of minutes. Yes, I know we could have walked to Chinatown. It was already part of the tour, so why not? It would have taken longer to walk, and it was a cold & windy day. Some people in our group said it felt like being near the Great Lakes. The wind around Shoal Point was brutal that evening. I'm sure it's much worse in the Winter. It was fun! I think this is considered to be a Top 10 attraction here, and not just a ferry service. They do offer tours of the Inner Harbour as well as the Gorge Waterway. The latter one would be great for wildlife enthusiasts. That's definitely a tour I'd like to take one day.

Whether you're hopping between docks or joining a guided tour, the experience feels personal and relaxed. Boats seat just 11-12 passengers, making it a cozy ride with front-row views of the harbor. Even if you're just catching a lift, one-way fares are available and super easy to pay. QR codes at the docks make it seamless, and for those who are old-school, tickets can be purchased from a few local businesses or directly from the captains onboard. We didn't have time to jump on one of their narrated tours through historic waterways and neighborhoods, but it's definitely on our list for next time.
