Crispy on the outside and doughy and flavorful in the inside. You could tell all of the ingredients were fresh with each bite. From goat cheese to veggie and even a cheeseburger slice, they pretty much had every pizza combo imaginable. After some careful consideration, I went with a slice of margarita, a slice of pepperoni and olive and a large fountain soda. I wouldn't call this high quality pizza, but it was dripping in grease and cheese and was exactly what I needed in that moment. Usually I prefer a crispy and thin crust slice, and instead this was super thick and doughy. But, all in all for fast food pizza this really wasn't so bad. The sauce was flavorful, there was plenty of cheese and the toppings were not skimpy. They also have an assortment of salads, sandwiches and empanadas. My boyfriend ordered a spinach and cheese empanada and really enjoyed it. Prices weren't bad, and I think we both ate for around 10-12 euro. Don't get too hungover like I did and try to enjoy a more quality lunch in Barcelona. But, if you find yourself in a desperate situation where you need pizza then Mucci's will not fail to get the job done.

This restaurant - aptly named Twins - offers one of the more "traditional" dinner hours - 8:30pm to 11:00pm. No Tapas!! Apparently everyone but the tourists know about this place - it's off the usual tourista areas and outside the downtown proper in a working class neighborhood. There are seats outside and two "halves" to the restaurant, connected by the kitchen but divided by the staircase to the upstairs residences. The bar is in the left half, we sat to the right. The walls here are adorned by framed pictures of notes from celebrities like Ron Wood, James Harden, Mos Def, Patti Smith and more, signatures directly on the wall by marker and photos galore. Overall the atmosphere is casual but romantic. We arrived early - before opening- and one of the Venetian brothers owners (Max) suggested we walk two blocks down the hill to this magical neighborhood square (see review of La Croquetteria in La Plaza del Sortidor). Upon our return we were seated promptly and treated to exceptional service, fantastic food and a great wine list (a 2001 Monleale was near perfection). Our server, Stefano We shared a couple of starters- the squid over polenta was ok, the torta carbonara with truffles was delicious but heavy. My wife absolutely loved the Osso Bucco Pappardelle and I was blown away by the roasted baby goat shoulder - one of the top ten things I have ever eaten. Stefano spent time with us sharing stories and restaurant history which includes a love affair with Patti Smith. After apologies to the other diners, we were treated to video and booming sudo of Patti Smith singing "Because the Night" in the kitchen with everyone. She and Ximei also published an all Italian cookbook- which Stefano graciously gifted us! Amazing! A cheese plate and some complimentary dessert wine finished off a magical meal. Wow. Just wow…read more We've been in Barcelona for almost two years now. We've found a couple of places with good pizza, but they are both across town from where we live. Now we've found a GREAT, authentic pizza, and it's on our side of town! It turns out this place has earned its chops. The proprietors are "pizzaioli napolitanos." They understand the beauty and simplicity of a properly made pizza. They understand the dough, from its recipe to its execution. They understand that you don't need to offer hundreds of varieties of pizza, when a dozen or so, well-made, will satisfy. Their menu features Neapolitan pizzas, calzones, lasagna and salads. We opted for the Quattro Stagioni (four seasons) pizza, featuring a spicy salami, sweet ham, artichoke hearts and mushrooms with mozzarella, basil and a tomato sauce worthy of its Neapolitan heritage. The thin crust had the perfect amount of burn marks, courtesy of their wood-fired oven. Our Caprese Salad of tomato slices interspersed with mozzarella, fresh basil leaves and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and olive oil was spot-on. My wife loved the light Italian wine they recommended to her to accompany the pizza. Yum! Our server, Andrea, a young man also from Naples, KNOWS his stuff and was a delight to talk to. We were pressed for time (our movie was starting soon, a ten-minute walk from the restaurant), so we skipped dessert. Next time we'll plan accordingly, and ensure we have ample time to enjoy both the food AND the ambiance. The staff is warm and engaging - we really do look forward to our next visit!
