Since I don't drink alcohol, I was really appreciative that there was a mocktail or juice option at each stop. I also thought it was huge that they chose to support the family owned spots on this tour. Everything was good, but my favorite was definitely the pernil with rice and beans. Other members of the tour were friendly, and it was nice that Lorna had us all introduce ourselves at the beginning to break the ice. I would definitely recommend the sunset food tour to anyone visiting old San Juan for the first time who wants authentic food with a side of history!

We found the quality and variety at the Oceanview buffet much better. The hot dogs at the poolside grill were pretty atrocious, as were the daily snacks brought to our room in concierge class. The main dining room didn't have any supplements, but we were told if we asked for seconds on something like the lobster, there would be an additional charge. Room service also had an additional fee unless it was for continental breakfast. We got a balcony room (8124) for the first time ever and "concierge class". I think the main reason to book a balcony is to enjoy the scenery in Alaska. However, we found ourselves by the windows in the lounges and took the Hubbard expedition tour while the ship was spinning for Hubbard glacier views (where the balcony would have come in handy). In retrospect, because we did these things, we could have done without the balcony. "Concierge class" consisted of a sit down lunch day 1, an in room daily snack, and an invite to a couple events on the heli pad. There were hairs in our drawers when we arrived. Everything else looked pretty clean around the ship. Turndown service with a chocolate daily, but no towel animals. Service everywhere was cordial and got us what we needed when requested. The entertainment was ok. The highlight for me were the specialty artists (acrobats) during the dancing shows. The guest speaker Brent Nixon was good too. This was our first Celebrity cruise. Celebrity is supposed to be a notch up from the others: Royal, Princess, Holland, Norwegian, Carnival. We did not find that to be the case.

It was our 3rd time on the Norwegian Epic, and our second time in the Epic's Haven. We even booked…read morethe same DOS as our previous Epic cruise in the Mediterranean. Why? We just love the layout of that room and the floor-to-ceiling windows at the forward part of the ship. I won't get into details since I've already reviewed the Epic at another home port. Just be aware that people either love it or hate it. The club balcony & standard balcony rooms come in different shapes and sizes due to the curvature of the layout. It's good for couples and solo cruisers, but maybe not so great for groups or families of 3 or more. Personally, I feel that the better non-Haven room is the one that has the bed next to the balcony with the couch separating the bathroom from the bedroom. You may have to do more research to find the right fit for you. Other than that, it's a unique ship for a reason. They never made another one with this design. You'll have to experience it to understand why. The cruise itinerary and port of embarkation was too difficult to pass up. This was our first embarkation and debarkation from San Juan. I absolutely loved the night view of OSJ when leaving on our 7-day cruise. The cruise itself was very port heavy. There were no sea days. We visited Tortola, Antigua, Sint Maarten, Barbados, and St. Thomas. We were notified ahead of the cruise of an itinerary change. There was an added overnight in Barbados instead of a visit to St. Lucia due to port availability. It all worked out well despite that glitch. We just didn't get to wake up to a beautiful view of the Pitons. That was our only disappointment. Our dining options were pretty good. We mostly enjoyed the Haven Restaurant. Our specialty restaurant choices were Cagney's Steakhouse (twice) and Shanghai's Restaurant. We also had a couple of Noodle Bar dishes delivered to our room on our last night onboard. We had one dinner at O'Sheehan's, but I don't recommend it. It used to be very good. Not this time. Other than O'Sheehan's, it was all good. We had some great cocktails at the Haven Bar. It was my very first pistachio martini. I also tried a spicy mango mojito. Let's just say we enjoyed many "firsts" on this cruise (and not just drinks). I'm looking forward to more cruises in the future. It's just a great way to see our beautiful world.

He has been honest and capable in dealing with the issues that come up in PR. It has been very hard on everyone since the two hurricane devastated the island. People need to realize that and adjust their expectations. As a property owner we have lost a lot of money due to the hurricanes and if it were not for Jorge we would have lost a lot more. We have used other property managers and I can only speak from my experience that Jorge is by far the best.

I have been on quite a few tours and Geroge hands down has been the best tour guide. 14 people in our group. He was attentive to all, engaging, and educational. I learned, laughed, and had a great adventure. For parts that were a bit difficult for some, he focusef on form giving confidence to those who were a bit nervous or inexperienced with the terrain. The admin was seamless. After we booked, we immediately got a text to confirm pickup location. We got a text with instructions and the waiver do we were prepared for pickup. Then the morning of George called us when he was on his way.

A nice dinner was a pleasant surprise before we hit sunset and got on the boat. Our cost was $398 for a couple. Pretty steep, but a once in a lifetime experience.

During the ride to the hotel, we also booked a return trip with Johnny. He was waiting for us with a sign during both legs of our trip, helpful with our bags and tremendously friendly, sharing local knowledge and recommendations. He also stopped and waited for 15 minutes at the grocery store on the way to the hotel which allowed us to get drinks and snacks to help save a little cash at the resort.
