Just as the name Casablanca hotel is inspired by the movie Casablanca. This hotel is elegant with a historic and artsy flair. Moroccan theme decor with beautiful victorian style chandeliers. Lots of vibrant colorful art through out the hotel every corner catches your attention from the moment you walk in. You just want to take photos and videos everywhere you step in. We had the two bedroom suite with balcony and view to the cobblestone streets and colorful buildings of San Juan. Very spacious and clean. There is also a rooftop with jacuzzi and lounge area great for relaxation. Hotel is walking distance to all the bars and restaurants in Old San Juan. I only used Uber to and from the concert venue. Hotel is 15 minutes from the airport very convenient. Great stay, nice and pleasant staff and will definitely stay here again.

I had to work in the lobby while they cleaned our room and the high tables made working easier. There is a fragrance in the lobby that irritates my allergies though. Front desk: service is hit or miss depending on who is working the front desk but all employees are professional. Arrival: we came by Uber and the staff is outside the car door ready to assist with luggage and whatever else you might have that needs to be unloaded. Bar: we received some drink vouchers. We ordered the free drink with passion fruit. Our bartender was a young man with curly hair and he made a great drink! Room: sleep quality is very good to excellent!! The hotel is always hopping and we were able to have a good night sleep. Only during our second night, did I briefly hear a neighbor slam a door, but other than that nothing. The door is very comfortable and large with plenty of seating and a nice balcony to see the ocean. We were here on work so not having a desk made work challenging but the coach really helped with the large table. It worked perfect! Mini fridge, safe, and nice Nespresso coffee machine. The room is surface clean meaning it appears clean, but if you wear white socks, they will turn black. A/C: there are some quirky setting on the A/C. If you don't put it on recirculate, the room will get hot at night. WIFI: It is hit and miss. Day 1 i had to use my phone as a hotspot to connect to a work call. Day 2 the WIFI was strong for my conference calls. Front room: nice large coach with separate TV but the window was weird and not very private but the extra sliding door helped. Bathroom: excellent lightening and vent fan in the bathroom. Very spacious. Room service: Make sure to put the sign on your door or room service can take a very long time to get to your room. After breakfast I put out the sign and I was serviced quickly within 2 hours. The first day I forgot to put out the sign and the room was not serviced until after 5pm. Pools: there is a nice pool and beach access.

Review is based on a four night stay. Overall, I recommend La Concha. It's a Marriott affiliate with some personality and class. Arrival: Arrived by Uber. Helpful doormen and luggage attendants. Check in: Overall good check in process. Marriott status acknowledged with a serious room upgrade to a suite. Room was not yet ready, and the receptionist gave us some free drink vouchers for the bar. Room (954): A spacious sweet. Living room included a colossal sectional, large TV, dresser, and breakfast table. The living room also included a Nespresso machine and a mini-refrigerator. Bedroom included a king bed with a bench and nightstands. One negative about this suite: lack of a desk. I was on business, and working from the sofa sectional got old fast. Bathroom: Excellent lighting. Spacious and clean shower. Bed: Decent but not great mattress. Sleep quality: Above average Patio: Nice patio with two chairs and a small table; really enjoyed drinking coffee on the patio watching the surf. WiFi: WiFi when it worked was generally fast. But I missed a video conference due to poor connectivity the day before we left. Housekeeping: Overall housekeeping was good, but the floors were not thoroughly cleaned before our arrival or during our stay. Pools and beach: Multiple pools to lounge by. Great poolside food and drink service. Nice beach (but it can be dangerous to swim at times) with typical seaweed issues. Staff: All of the hotel staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Great staff overall! Value: Overall good value Overall common area cleanliness: Excellent Misc Tips: (1) There are many decent restaurants within walking distance. (2) There's a large grocery store called SuperMax about 1 mile away. It's worth the Uber fare to stock up on everything from alcohol to snacks (including gifts to take home, such as Puerto Rican coffee for $2.95 / 8 ounce pack

(reviewed on trip advisor as well because I loved this place so much)…read more If you like luxury, please do not waste your time here. This is a bare bones place to stay. That in mind I LOVED this place. I met the owners of the hostel when they were passing out breakfast. It is family owned, run and cared for. This hostel is PRIME location for everything! Let me list off things that are a need to know before you book: 1) this is an old building, there are stairs that are tall, narrow and HOT , there is an elevator that has a gate that literally had my boyfriend and I running out and into the elevator as soon as possible because it slams and scares us, also elevator is HOT and sometimes might not work. If you need an elevator all the time or have trouble walking please do not book here. It will be unpleasant for you and the owners are sweet people who deserve the most possitive reviews possible 2) private rooms are small and bare bones. you have a bed with two pillows and a sheet. You have a small fridge, an AC and a TV and maybe a closet. That's it. Good luck getting any view. But you know what, I'm only there to sleep and shower. I want to spend my money having fun in PR and on gifts for people back home, not a fancy room. My house is plenty fancy for me thank you. I'm for adventure. 3) you have a shared kitchen (MEGA BONUS) you can cook your own food if you don't feeling like dropping big money three times a day and that's a big money saver! Grocery store not too far and there is a CVS and Walgreens about a 10-minute walk (VERY SAFE) to get ins and outs you may need. 4) no parking, but Dona Fela parking is about a 5-minute walk and is CHEAP! Cash only though so keep that in mind. 5) Free breakfast now offered and it is just a light little something but the owner usually comes with her daughter or employee to help prepare it for you. Never had issues with shared bathrooms. We went in down season so keep that in mind. Old San Juan has character, charm and all the best restaurants. Locals go there all the time and is the place to be for a real Puerto Rican vibe in a safe part of the island. there are cops patrolling all the time not because its dangerous but just because they want to keep it safe. I never, not once felt in danger. Please keep in mind "La Perla" (the pearl) is not too far from old san juan and is sketch as heck STAY AWAY FROM THERE! But other than that Old San Juan is the place to go, and this Hostel gives you the most bang for your buck. I will stay back here in a heart beat!!!

And it turned out to be a great idea. The location is perfect. On the outer edge of Old San Juan (OSJ) you are only minutes away from anything in the area but out of the huge tourist crush from the other end of town. When looking at a map of Old San Juan you will think it's bigger than it is. To walk from the Posada to El Morro on the opposite tip of OSJ might take 15-20 minutes at a leisurely pace. I booked the standard double bed private shared room. It cost me $58 per night because I had to pay for 2 people instead of just myself. The single supplement sucks, but it's still inexpensive. The room was clean, clean, clean. And the satellite TV and air conditioning worked. I had to share bathrooms but one was always available when I needed it and they were always relatively clean if not just clean. I appreciated that the other guests during my stay were not slobs. The women working the desk and the one man I saw regularly were always polite and friendly. No issues with service. I used the washer and dryer while I was there, but I got up early to do it so there was no wait. And they are both in good condition - either new or very well-kept. All in all, my four night stay cost me $252 which includes taxes and online processing fees. That amount would have gotten me one night at a resort or hotel. For the price and location, Posada San Francisco really can't be beat, and I would stay here again. Tip: Because I stayed on the 6th floor, I didn't interact much with the other guests. If you're on the 4th floor with the dorms, you'll meet more people. Tip 2: They rent bikes for cheap. Don't forget that. I did.

The owner/tour guide is great. He is extremely informative and friendly. The tour is well worth the money, and we are so glad we got to explore the fort on Segway instead of on foot. It was extremely hot, and riding/driving the Segway is the way to go. You get the breeze AND don't have to walk that long stretch to the fort. I would highly recommend this to EVERYONE. It's soo easy to learn how to ride the Segway. It may be intimidating at first but once you get the hang of it, it's sooo much fun. My biggest recommendation to the owner is that to give better instructions on how to find the place. I was sooo confused where exactly the location was.

However, before we get going on our segways, we get a basic training and safety course from the tour guide. -My travel companion masters it right away -I, on the other hand, struggle a bit as I'm steering too much and then realize to put less effort into it and then get it. After I make a fool of myself, we go on our way and she shows us a bit of the pier and explains why the houses have no numbers, go to a fort and then tour a lot of Old San Juan. We covered a lot of ground and going over the bumps was fun. Unfortunately, we ran into rain, so we had to wait a bit and this delayed our tour. Luckily, we were the only people for the day. Just riding on the segway was so much fun, but the tour guide was really knowledge and seeing the fort was so cool. I love seeing old war stuff (even though I'm totally anti-gun). We enjoyed it so much that when we walked around Old San Juan, we were thinking "we need that damn segway back!!!" Overall, great time.

Everything is walking distance so there's no need to drive (or you can Uber). If you absolutely have to pick up your rental car right off the bat, you will have to park you car overnight in a garage or a lot.
