Great ride! I've taken classes with Terry, Brittany, Melissa and Heidi. Clean studio, free water if you bring your won bottle, towels and shoes and convenient parking. Oh and another great thing about this place...COLD TOWELS after class!! :) One thing I do wish they had is better music (I think Brittany plays "Smack My Bitch Up" in literally every class and it has me dragging my feet at the end like...not this song again....) Would love some Kanye/Drake/Wayne/other hip hop music in class. Further, they also don't do any weight training like most other spin places, so depending on the instructor the class can get monotonous. Great studio though, and I'm a regular now! read more

Wow! This place was great- I came here by using ClassPass and I'm so impressed. The staff was all so welcoming and warm! They patiently answered my questions and helped me settle into my first class. I did the 7 PM (Tuesday) ride. The instructor definitely pushed us, but also gave us a great cool down and shared a bit about how to help improve our rides with better posture during future classes. I've taken over 50 classes at Sycle and can say this studio is on point. The instructors are challenging, encouraging, supportive and helpful. And each instructor is different so it's worth trying someone new whenever you go because everyone's style varies. Even the rest of the staff is super helpful - whether it's shoes that you need or help getting on to a bike, everyone is there and ready to help. The studio is always super clean. They wipe down the bikes for you in between each class and provide a fresh towel on every bike. They also provide cold towels after class (which is definitely needed after working up a sweat!) Even their website is easy to use and navigate which makes setting up classes & adding them to your calendar really simple. The bikes are great for tracking your activity during the class - which is then posted to their website so you can see how you did (and even see how you ranked in the whole class). They've set up a fun, competitive spirit (which you can choose to partake in) that helps push to the next goal. The other people taking class are usually friendly and supportive which makes it feel less intimidating. I love spin class because it's an amazingly intense cardio workout that's over in 45 minutes so it's easy to squeeze into your day. If you haven't done it - don't be scared! Been sycling here since day 1, love all of the instructors I get to ride with. This morning I took Chad's class for the first time, it was an early class 6 am and it was great!! I have been going to Sycle for the past year and I absolutely love it! Everyone there treats me like family and each class is so fun! I love that when I walk in they know my shoe size and what bike I'll be on! They recently added full body training called Sircuit and I love those classes too! All of the instructor's play up beat music that keeps you going. I literally look forward to burning at least 500 calories with each class I take. This is the best workout in 45 minutes! read more

Sycle is truly an outstanding boutique studio. It's more than a place to workout, it's a community where riders encourage each other on and off the bike just as much as each of the instructors. I love the outgoing and helpful staff :), the instructors and their diverse styles of music for any rider, the cold and fresh smelling towels, the fancy water, and the generous efforts Sycle puts forward through community and charity rides. I love Sycle! I attend 5-6 classes a week and always enjoy the attentiveness from the staff and the cleanliness of the studio. The instructors are all different but great in their own way. My style matches Melissa's the most and I find myself most challenged in her classes. I burn between 450-500 calories in her classes if I keep my power up (which she encourages). Sycle is a super cute spin studio conveniently located in downtown Toluca Lake. It has a clean, modern-glam aesthetic and offers nice perks like free Flowater and shoes. I have been riding here since it opened because of Melissa, the lead instructor, who came from another local studio that I love and have frequented for years. I would give Melissa 10 stars if I could!!! She is the best, most motivating instructor I've ever had and the main reason why I fell in love with spinning in the first place. For some reason, the bikes at Sycle are very hard on my body (specifically my lower back), so I don't ride here as often as I would like. I have an unlimited membership, but don't go more than twice a week tops, which is a deliberate choice. I've been riding regularly for 6 years and try to avoid studios with Schwinn Carbon Blue bikes, but continue to come here because I adore Melissa and Carolyn. Hidie is awesome as well, and I wish my schedule worked better with hers. My best piece of advice is to not get discouraged by the numbers on your screen. When I stopped paying attention to the numbers, it made a huge difference in my workout quality. I suspect that the bikes are not calibrated equally, so your ride performance really depends on the particular bike you get. Once I realized that the numbers were kind of arbitrary, I stopped pushing myself so hard to achieve a certain threshold in my mind, and my back pain improved as a result. You're better off calculating your actual performance and calorie burn with a Fitbit or something similar. The classes are closer to 40 minutes (the 45 minutes includes stretch/cool down time), so Sycle is an awesome option if you need a quality workout and are pressed for time, as so many of us are. Overall, Sycle is a solid choice for spinning in the area, with some amazing instructors on the roster. It reminds me a lot of Beatbike, but on a smaller scale. I always leave feeling invigorated and energized, and always pop into Trader Joe's afterward too, which is a nice convenience. I'm happy to have Sycle as part of my regular routine. :) read more

I wanted to wait until I took at least 12 classes here before I wrote a fully informed review, so here goes. If you are looking for a motivating yet intense workout,(whether you're beginner or not) this is for you. If you are picky about the cleanliness of the fitness establishments you go to, Sycle will NOT disappoint. My favorite instructors are Brittany, Hidie, and Terry. These guys will motivate and challenge you the entire way. The instructors here do different themed rides like "rock and roll", "mountain climbers", and dual instructors (which by the way was my favorite workout of all time). They are really creative here. You won't be bored I promise. Unless you are really not following instructions for the adjustments of your bike and form(which the staff is amazing at educating you), you will never have a knee or any other injury at sycle. I started going here because for the past 2 years I haven't worked out much and that was having an effect on my anxiety and heart health. The only sort of negative experience Ive had was I took a class with melissa once and the ventilation was really poor. In some fitness classes they want the room to be super hot so you can "sweat everything out" but I just wasn't able to really focus on my workout unfortunately. However I am going to take her class again and just pick a bike next to a fan and see it that helps. As an on call employee at a hospital, I have had to miss some reservations which sucks because you lose $22 for every class you cancel without 12 hours notice. This is also kind of a motivator for me to get the most out of every class I take here. Long story short, these classes are worth your money. Buy 15 classes and by the end you will fall in love with the process. As you can tell, I am so thankful i found this place. Thank you Sycle!!! read more

The studio is cute, clean, and friendly. Parking is located in the lot behind the building (alley access) and is free. The staff is very friendly and checking in is a breeze. They do a great job of trying to learn and remember your name, and always answer questions or concerns in a professional manner. Now to the nitty-gritty. The bikes are really nice (Schwinn carbon blue, maybe?) and your stats are accessible afterwards. I've tried three instructors thus far, and although my experience has been positive every time, I prefer one in particular. The room can get hot and stuffy, but it's bearable. They provide towels and clean up for you afterwards. It's not the best spin studio I've ever been to, but it's definitely a great option in the area! Corporate studios...watch out! read more

BEST WORKOUT EVER! I love this place. I've been coming to SYCLE since they opened. I started out very fit but I have to say they've increased my FITNESS TO THE NEXT LEVEL! Typically I road bike outdoors, but since taking classes here a few times a week, my road buddies cant believe how much stronger I am now! I beat them up the hills every day! I owe it to ALL the Great Instructors and Super Bikes they have. They have The Schwinn AC Performance Plus with Carbon Blue with an MPower Echelone Console which records and displays your progress in each class! I've been to most other spin studios and none have had this combination of Great Instructors and bikes in one place. I'm in love! I've been going to Sycle for 8 months now. To begin, I have to say I've never been super athletic or fit. I had never taken an indoor cycling class prior to Sycle. I was interested in a work out class that would be motivating and convenient with my busy schedule (kids, work, life etc.) Sycle has provided this and so much more than I ever imagined. The classes are scheduled at very convenient times (6 am sounds crazy but it works for me), the instructors (Hidie, Melissa, Brandy, Sara and Brittany) are super high energy, encouraging and friendly. They make the work outs feel like a party and I leave the studio feeling super motivated. The studio is always clean, they provide water and towels. I would encourage anyone, whether experienced or not, with indoor cycling, to try Sycle. read more

So I have been coming here for some time now and I love it! I have tried almost every instructor and they are all great! Studio is super cute and the staff is amazing, especially the manager! The shoes are free but you can also order your own from someone at the front desk. The bikes are great and as soon as you're done with your ride you get your stats emailed. Absolutely love Sycle. I first joined when the studio opened as I followed Melissa from her previous spin studio. I can't say enough about Melissa she is by far my fave instructor out of all of the studios I've ever attended. She is passionate, motivating, and overall a true inspiration. She pushes you to your limits and truly wants you to be your best self. Oh and not to mention her playlists are amazing! I don't think you can ask for much more in an instructor. Overall, everyone at the studio super friendly and willing to help you in any way. There is ample amount of parking and a place to fill up your water bottles. I love SYCLE and have been going there for three years now. The number one reason I continue to go there is Melissa, my amazing instructor. She's motivating, caring and is ALWAYS upbeat (and her workouts and music are always fun!). SHE keeps me going and notices when I'm absent and will even follow up with a text. The owner/management can be a little hot and cold, but I've never wanted to go anywhere else because the instructors here are fantastic! The bikes are also top notch and the place is always clean. I've been spinning here for 2 months now and I've lost 16lbs! That alone would be a great review but there's so much more to this place. As soon as you walk through the door you're greeted with smiling faces from the staff, the instructors, the owners, and even the other riders. The studio is always spotless from head to toe and the bikes are state of the art. Being able to track your calories burned, RPMs, power and total energy is a great motivator. There's a good mix of instructors which helps to keep things fresh and there's always some sort of "special" ride to look forward to. 5 stars for sure! read more

This amazing studio in the valley meets all of my needs when I'm traveling. Free shoe rental, free parking, first class is free. State of the art bikes that email you your results after class. I thought I'd give an update to my review since I've been coming regularly (1-2x wk) since March. I love this studio and look forward to my classes every week! I have tried most of the instructors and they are all great. Each instructor is definitely unique and has their own style, but they all push you to do your absolute best! I'm a very competitive person so I try to beat each week's performance. I think I started being so much of an overachiever that my knees and back were starting to bother me. I must give a shout out to Terry W. I took his class one night and he focused on form so much so that I realized that while I was trying to beat my performance #'s I wasn't being safe about it. I have started taking his class more regularly, I apply what I learn into every class I take and I am definitely getting stronger and the best part, less pain! read more

Okay let me start this off by saying- I HATE SPIN, but that being said I love Sycle. I hate myself the entire time I am taking these classes because it makes me realize how out of shape I am, but I leave feeling AMAZING. Everyone who works here is super newcomer friendly, which made it way less intimidating and actually made me want to come back repeatedly. You can borrow spin shoes for free (which is a huge plus), and they will help you adjust your bike and clip in. I am not the most in shape, but you can go your own speed and adjust based on your own personal preference. The entire space is extremely nice, clean, and there is overall a great ambiance. Not to mention there is free parking!!! This place checks off every box on the list! read more

I have taken classes at numerous spin studios, and I was very happy with my experience at SPYN. They have Schwinn Carbon Blue bikes with the monitors that provide you with your RPM, mileage, calories burned, etc. An email is then sent out immediately after class that shows your ranking within the class and calories burned, which is different (higher) than the number on the bike because it takes your weight into account. I've been coming to Sycle since they first opened their doors and I'm completely hooked! The studio is beautiful, clean and you're greeted by a friendly staff when you arrive. They have a water station for you to fill your water bottles before class and they don't charge for shoe rentals. All the instructors are amazing and play great music that makes the 45-minutes of class fly by. They make sure to keep it fun and motivate you throughout the entire class. You forget how hard you're working until the very end when you realize you're drenched in sweat and your legs feel like jello. The bikes are also top of the line. At the end of class you receive an email that gives you all your stats and where you placed among the other participants. This helps you see your improvement after every class and gives you that extra push of motivation. I can't say enough good things about this gem of a spin studio in Toluca Lake. This is a very nice, clean, and modern boutique spinning studio. I attended my first class there last night. It was free! McKenzie, one of the staff members, was extremely nice, gave me a tour of the studio and my bike. This place has alkaline water available to spinners and a clothing boutique in the back. There are unlocked lockers and a towel service available (with towels on the bikes when you walk in). The locker and spinning studio are upstairs. The spinning studio is decked out like a high end nightclub-- the spinning room is all black with a great sound system. In fact, it feels like a cocoon. The bikes are arranged in stadium seating ( 3 rows). The front row bikes (6) are situated at an odd angle--- a good thing, if you don't want to actually have to look at yourself face-on in the large mirror covering the entire front wall. The decor is great for any cardio junkie who loves to get 'in the zone' and lose themselves in their workout. I consider myself to me an advanced spinner ( as well as a 7 time marathoner and avid fitness enthusiast) and I enjoyed my class with Terry Walker. He is fantastic! The bikes are situated with monitors which provide details about your workout (Ave RPM, time spent spinning, calories burned,etc). Sycle emails the summary of your results, immediately after class ends. This is a nice touch, if the results are accurate. I work very hard in class and have tracked my HR and Calories burned with a fitness monitor over the yrs. ( in spinning and in other workouts). The readings I received from the monitor on my bike was off by 150+ calories, as compared to the average cal burn I have logged (for past 4 yrs). Perhaps I touched a button I wasn't supposed to. Lol! I don't know, but the RPMs I saw during my ride were different than what my summary said. This is a minor point for almost everyone who likes to spin, but it is something that one should be aware of if it is important to you. All in all, as spinning studios go, I would recommend giving Sycle a spin! read more

I don't live anywhere near this place, but I found it through a Groupon and love it so much I make the drive and it's totally worth it. The place is clean, the bikes are new, the staff are friendly and helpful, the instructors are amazing and the classes are fun and effective! Not the overly competitive vibe or energy of Soul Cycle. A much more supportive environment in which I feel like I'm working towards something with a group of people who are there to better themselves rather than a room full of people who are there to compete and show off their outfits. read more

I enjoy spinning and unfortunately due to my new work schedule the place I usually go doesn't have 45 minute classes available when I get off work. A yelp search led me to Sycle and I was happy that my first class would be free. I was able to do the 730 class with Hidie which was perfect timing! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I have been cycling for years and brought my own shoes. I thought it was nice that you can rent shoes for free if you need them, and they have free water! The girl who checked me in took me on a tour and help me setup my bike. Hidie even introduced herself to me before class. It was a great workout, Hidie keep the enthusiasm going and I love how the bikes tell you your RPM and what level resistance you are at to help me to keep going even when I start to get tired. The greatest part was after class I got an email telling me the stats on my ride! So cool that I can compare this with my future rides and track my progress. Very nice studio and nice bikes. Sycle has free water, free towel service, and free shoe rent, which is always a plus. I have been to other studios where they charge for one or all of those services, so this is a nice treat. They also provide cold, scented towels after your ride. I purchased a Groupon and decided this was the day to use it; didn't have to use one of the Groupon sessions though, as the first class is free. Another nice plus! As for the class that I took, great energy and music (that can make or break it), as well as challenging. I was a die-hard spinner a few years back, but my gym closed. I am picky when it comes to a spinning (spoiled from having awesome teachers), so trying to find a great class is harder than one would think. It's really hard to find one in a standard gym, unless you're shelling out the big bucks. I was very happy with the class I took, so much so that I just called to purchase another 10 sessions.
