I went about two years ago at this new location and was not impressed and my experience recently confirmed they are more concerned about making money than providing good service. We called for an appointment and we were told to come. When we got there the elevator was not working (not working for several days) but was not told ahead of time. If they and they did - tell your customers ahead of time. The service was just okay and has fallen off considerably. There was no other customers and I could tell why. There are many options for Korean spa and they should be explored. It's not worth the cost. Even with the gift voucher they charged a $50 tax and service fee which they asked for up front. Kind of odd to me, but at least it wasn't sprung on us at the end. The place is very clean and the massage itself was really good. I prefer it strong and my masseuse was able to do that.

They have disposable slippers for when using the bathroom. Unlimited towels u can use. They got stacks of towels everywhere u can just grab and go, and not have to reuse the same sweaty towel the whole day. Tips- bring socks to wear while using the saunas if youre one of those germophobic people. Slippers arent allowed in those areas. Its been years since Ive last come and I just came over Memorial day weekend. I didnt have a reservation because I had expired gift cards from 2021 that I wanted to use (as face value) and I couldnt use them on the website. Tip: you can call them to make reservations. I didnt call because it was forecasted to rain and I didnt know if I really wanted to go there while it was raining. But i drove to them on a saturday morning anyway and decided to walk in. They initially wouldnt let me do a walk in as they were busy for memorial day weekend but after i told them about my expired gift cards, the manager agreed to let me and my husband come in. Anyway, place is huge. Pools were nice. Saunas were nice. The only room i didnt like was the Ganbanyoku (bed rock bathing). Maybe because it is located right next to the pools and everyone just walks in wet, but that room stinks like wet towels. Place also got pretty busy towards the afternoon so I recommend going early! It was mostly light rain throughout the day so we had no issues being outside in the pool. Food is not cheap and i wish they had more korean choices other than bulgogi rice. I was craving for korean soup noodle! Overall, i had a nice relaxing time here with my husband. Towards the end, we went back to our own gender bathhouses and gave ourselves 45 minutes to enjoy the pools in there and shower and then leave. We stayed at sojo for about 5 hours. I probably wouldve stayed longer if i had more free time to waste, but i had 2 kids waiting at home -_-

All the pool areas were crowded at 10am, so we couldn't even get in. The saunas were unusable because so many people were looking for a place to go that the doors kept opening every 15 seconds, preventing them from heating up properly. The quiet area with chairs was so crowded that people were using them like lounge chairs on a cruise ship, with one person holding a chair for six people's belongings. It just felt like a complete waste of money to pay for spa access. They are not trying to create a luxury spa experience, just 100% a cash grab. I booked a couples massage for my wife and me, and considering the $500+ price, I expected a luxury experience. We showed up 15 min early, as typically spas at this price point will offer tea, a relaxing environment, and go over where you'd like to focus your treatment before you begin. When we arrived, they told us to come back in 10 minutes, because we were too early. Then, when we arrived 5 minutes before our service, they still said they weren't ready for us to come back; it was a terrible start. I've had over a hundred massages over the past 10+ years, and at the 200$+ price point, this one was in the bottom 5 I've experienced. Just mediocre at best. To top it off, at the end, the masseuse hard-sold the oils/lotions they use, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. I get a better massage at Bergen Spa in Brooklyn for $55, and given there was no high-end experience here, it's the same. I wouldn't come back even if they charged half of what they do. Horrible all around.

I just don't understand the hype…read more My husband and I had another massage place cancel on us unexpectedly, so we were on the hunt for another place that could accommodate us last minute. I was heartened by the happy reviews and surprised to see how affordable the massages were. That should have been my first warning sign. Upon arrival, the space seemed clean enough. The first floor is more of a waiting room (with a couch upon which the proprietor was laying down and phone scrolling when we arrived), and the upstairs space is dedicated to the actual massage rooms. There are a few rooms with multiple beds, and these, too, were laid down with towels and clean looking blankets. But the massage itself was terrible. My male masseuse's technique had zero finesse. The first part of my hour-long massage was through a thin sheet, and his general method was to rub the same spot over and over again until it felt raw and I was plaintively begging him to use less pressure. You'd think adding oil would make things better, but no. That's when he turned my various limbs into a clumsy slip-and-slide experience for his hands and forearms. I quickly regretted adding the extra 10 minutes for a foot massage, during which he somehow uncovered all the pain points of my feet with his knuckles. At one point, he even smacked my bottom. I'd like to see the massage training book that recommends that kind of practice. Over on the other table, my husband had a slightly better experience. But during a couple's massage, it never feels good when the two masseuses whisper to each other in another language and burst into barely disguised snickers throughout. The final nail in the coffin was when my husband's masseuse laughed outright after he yelped because she put freshly hot stones on his back. Since our experience was so different from all the other customers, it's possible we just pulled the short straws from the deck with our masseuses. But I believe we got what we paid for and suffice it to say it won't be a repeat experience.

I am taking the time to write this review because it's either so bad or so good. This place gets…read morethe latter accolade. I wish I can keep this gem all to myself but then I thought why not share the love and promote supporting local businesses such as this massage place. Don't be misled by the current storefront name "Moonlight Spa." It's legit and no-nonsense spa that really does the service impeccably and the place immaculate. Front-desk: Cindy or Jordan in the front does not push for services. I personally love the hospitality and no frills kind of welcome I get and the nice gesture of their offering of room temp Poland Spring water post-massage. It's no Pelligrino but hey in Asian culture you should not shock your system with cold water especially after a massage. Massage: I like the deep and hard tissue massage thrice in this place so far usually by older women and they are strong and know where to dig through your knots. Being in a cavewoman posture and hands tingling pins and needles from my "desk" job, I find relief with their technique -- it's like they know where to ease the pain and address my pressure points. All in all I feel like a pretzel from the massage and I sleep like a baby that night afterwards. Of course, you can request them to go deep or go light with the massage! I find them very attentive. Place: It's accessible by public transpo (there's Uber, too). I like to be on peds though, you'll pass by local shops regardless which direction you are coming from. The place itself is very clean, minimalistic (I find clutter anxiety-provoking.) I find zen here though the seats for foot massage could use a visual update. The massage rooms are simple and neat. I love and feel comfortable with the thoughtful positioning of pads and sanitary covers because Covid and Monkeypox are real! I also appreciate the fact that they offered me a mask when I forgot mine. I really think wearing a mask for venues like this should be an ongoing practice. Price: It all comes down to the $ at the end of the day and I find this place up to my standards and meeting my price point for an in and out kind of place -- you can spend a whole day here but certainly if you are on the go and want to get a message in during your lunch break, this is a good place for that. I think it's reasonable and they do give discount cards like loyalty points. Honestly, I'd love for them to have a loyalty program by referral! Other incentives: I love love how the hot stones come with the body massage. The sheets smells and look clean - trust me, I have high standards. The floors are mopped (you can tell) and the music is serene and calming. All in all, kudos to this establishment for what it offers and the service they give. I feel like a new person every time I leave this place and in better spirits than when I'm about to open the door. And yes, it is that good! This place is on top of my self-care list! When you go there, say Michelle's post on Yelp sent you here! :)
