Very strong hands and you don't even have to tell them which part of your body is aching the most, they just know. I have tight shoulders and upper back pain and they will focus most on those areas. The cost is very inexpensive, with that being said, I tip between $20-$25. I was hesitant about having a male masseuse because I thought a man's pressure maybe too intense, but the guy I had was perfect. I will definitely request him again. I was in such a deep state of relaxation, I felt as if I was off in the clouds. I will be on cloud 9 for awhile. I workout a lot with intense cardio, and the foot massage was perfect. I found out about this place from a Yelp friend of mine. I did not believe how cheap the prices were for a massage so I went in for a try. As I walked in there was a line of people getting their "Foot Reflexology". So I had to wait. Their is a price list to go by, and I decided to try the 80min (60min back + 20min foot). First they do your feet, and then your back (actually full body). So they rinse your feet in some warm water and cleanser to sanitize then they get in. The lady I had, Eda, was amazing. She checked in on me every now and then, and asked if the strength she was using was too strong. She massaged every inch of my feet, and lower leg. So it's not just feet. This was the first time I've had a foot massage, and it was very relaxing and a must. Then you go get your back massaged. I can tell you that this is NOT just a back massage. She didn't leave an inch of my body that she didn't work on. Well, except for the private area, stomach and chest. She even massaged my face and head. I felt like a new man after she was done. The amazing part is they have a timer set for their massages so you WILL NOT get cheated for a single minute or even second less than what you pay for! The Chinese masseuse really knew how to use forceful strokes to target deep muscle layers , I felt so much better after she massaged the knot away. The place has no frills, it is not fancy like Mohonk Spa, there's no candles, no incense, no pretty zen decorations, etc. However, if you are looking for an inexpensive but effective massage, look no further! I paid for my service and I tipped what I felt the employee deserved (25%) but then was cornered and confronted rather angrily by the owner who demanded that I tip $20 more. This expectation was not presented to me prior to the massage, and I would never understand why a place would have a mandatory tip percentage for a massage that should be paying the employees enough. Rude, unprofessional, and I might go as far to say that the owner relied on the customers tips to pay the employees for their work and probably takes all the money paid for the service instead of respectfully paying their employees correctly. He got the $35 - 60 minute Full Body massage, and I'm reading these reviews and people say they didn't get the full thing but my husband is more than satisfied and feels great after his massage. My experience was AMAZING. I got the $30 - 60 minute foot reflexology massage. My masseuse literally was getting all the tension and knots out of my legs and feet. I didn't even know I had tension on my legs until he started targeting areas. I was like wow. I fell asleep a few times because it was very relaxing, but woke up when he started getting the harder areas. He always asked if everything was okay and also had a great attitude. 10/10! The tipping situation is reasonable. IF YOU don't tip, then don't get service here. Think about it. Regular massage chains charge up to $100 for massages per person, without tip included. Then you tip 10%, 15%, or 20% based on your experience. Let's say 15% out of $100, is $15. They just spent 60 minutes tending to your body. Sometimes they even charge more for massages... I've seen up to $300 for a 1 hour! Now, this business charges $35 for a full body 60 massage, 25% tip to that price is $8.75... with the amount of time and work they put into your massage, I think that's not fair. $15 or $20 is much more fair. You're still paying basically $50 for a 60 minute massage, plus free hot stones, but I rather pay $50 including tip than $100 not including tip. If people had a different experience, I can't speak for them I'm sorry, but these reviews are very mixed. We're avid rock climbers and were looking forward to a nice recovery massage. There were several toe curling, wincing moments that just made me feel like I had more knots that I thought. Hours later, I had bruises all over my back and I was more achey thank when I had initially gone in. Cut to days later, and my lower back is in pain. I'd think that maybe it was just the massage therapist that I got, but my boyfriend is in the same shape. When we were checking out, I left a 25% tip per therapist although I didn't find the massage to be that great. The receptionist counted the tip in front of us with this look of utter dismay. We went for a couples massage and were very clear about wanting a relaxation massage , WE SPECIFICALLY SAID LIGHT MASSAGE before the massage started. Both female workers had headphones and acted as if they understood what we wanted and commenced the massage . Several times I had to signal and tell her to lighten up and so did my partner. We came out worst than going in. It was slight torture they didn't care or listen to what we wanted. We couldn't relax we would tense up every time they dug an elbow or knuckle on our backs. It was definitely a deep tissue torture. That wasn't a relaxing massage, esp when she tried to use and elbow down my spine! They need to be trained and know what areas of the body they should never apply pressure to. 3 weeks later and my partner is still in pain with a pinched nerve after that torture. The interior was very basic; the pictures looked better than the actual interior. The worst part was tipping. When my friend offered to tip $5 after getting $40 massage, the host refused twice and complained it was too little. I went here because my favorite place to go was booked and couldn't take me. So I wanted a 2 hour massage. I like a lot of pressure so I enjoy more Asian modalities. I don't think the massage therapist knew what she was doing. She kept putting her forearm bone on my spine and it was extremely painful. I asked her to not go so deep but the punishment didn't stop. I told her at least 5 times to lighten up. I started to think that maybe she didn't understand me so I tried to use different words to better communicate. Gentle, lighter, not so deep, not so hard, ouch. I even tried to use body language to get my feelings across but to no avail. I felt bad for her but I was feeling worse for me. When she got to my legs it was a little more bearable. The back was murder. It was finally over and I went to pay. $65 which is a great price and I gave the girl $14 tips. I work for tips also so I know how important it is, I really wanted to give her $5 but she was standing behind me and I didn't want to hurt her feelings. The woman at the desk seemed to be her boss and I didn't want to get her in trouble. Then they spoke to each other in a different language and the woman behind the counter showed me a sign that said if you get a hour massage you should tip $10 so they wanted me to tip the therapist $20. I was so embarrassed I gave her $5 more and left. It was the worst experience I've ever had for a massage and I get a lot of them. It's been 3 days since my massage and my spine is still in pain. Came here at the suggestion of a friend who got his back destroyed by the intense massage he received here and since I'm a sucker for pain, decided to check it out. And having gone to get massages in China for over 10 years, I was looking forward to some painful sessions that can alleviate some of the knots in my shoulders, neck, and legs that I'd collected while not having gotten a massage for the past few years. And after driving almost 2 hours to get there, it was a bit frustrating that they were booked at the time and didn't get my reservations in. So I waited for about 30 mins in their tiny, cramped waiting area while they scrambled to find someone who can give body massages. I paid about $40 for a 90 min full body massage and I must say that I was slightly disappointed. When the masseuse worked hard, it was delightfully painful but about 90% of that time was spent on my back. My arms, legs, stomach, and head all split the rest of the time and it was minimal. The soothing hot oil felt really nice and the hot stones were great too but I wished they had warned me before they plopped down the rocks because it was a bit too shocking to feel like I'm being pierced with a branding iron. My masseuse was tough but friendly. Fortunately, she spoke Mandarin so I was able to tell her if I wanted it more intense or where I had the most pain (most people here spoke a dialect I didn't understand from China). The room itself was just enough space and they only had one small hook for your clothes. I wished they had a little table to put my clothes, wallet, cell, etc on instead of the wall hook. All-in-all, not bad but also not great either. It may be worth getting the foot massage here as it seems like that's what most people were getting and if I lived much closer, but to drive 2 hours for this may not be worth it for me. We got two female masseuses for the 60 minute bodywork and I honestly don't believe they were ever properly trained in giving massages. The first 15 minutes consisted of spreading oil around and pressing firmly on the lower back making you hold your breath constantly. Then started the actual "massage" -- her elbowing my spine up and down and rubbing the C7 vertebrae behind my neck. Obviously all of this was very dangerous and painful. I tried to wait for it to get better but couldn't take any more damage to my body and begged her to please stop. I tried to explain it was not the level of pressure she was applying (I actually like it very strong) -- but that she was doing everything wrong.
