Came in on 3/22/22 had the literal worst massage I have every received. I got a couple massage with my fiancé and the masseuse we had basically treated us super rude and just simple mentality of not giving a crap. Literally used her nails to scratch and pinch while doing the massage. Massage itself was super painful and had to ask "softer please" twice as she refused to listen. I believe her name was Cindy. After the THIRD time she basically did the massage as a joke. Sarcastically barely touching and complaining to the other masseuse that was massaging my fiancé loudly in chineese. Loud enough that the other masseuse actually had to shush her. What a joke. All in all this place is a shadow of a place it was years ago. I've been coming here pretty often for over 3 years. I've been going to this place for years, thanks to a friend's recommendation. S & L isn't the fanciest massage place, but for the cost, it gets the job done. You can't go wrong with the prices, which I find are incredibly fair. I think some massage places in the area can be considered a bit shady...not so here. They're truly offering you a massage experience. I give it four stars because sometimes the services are inconsistent - like the masseuses aren't the best at pressure, or they don't take your requests/body language into account. I think that's the nature of the game, however. Regardless, the staff here is always professional. Also, you'd best call ahead, as opposed to walking in. Even if it's 20 minutes ahead of time, the front desk appreciates the call. The desk staff becomes a little flustered if you just walk in, I think because they are shuffling and organizing the schedule so everyone can be accommodated. Came here for the first time today for a 1 hour body massage. The place is pretty big since they own both sides of the ground floor. You walk in to the right side and they will escort you to your chair or table. We made reservations, and i do recommend them, although they did have a lot of tables. My masseuse was female, had a very firm touch and i liked the amount of pressure she applied. She really worked my knots and i enjoyed the oil. They work the back, legs, then have you turn over and work your shoulders again, scalp, temples, and upper chest. Great massage, would definitely come again. read more

I saw some reviews that state make a reservation. My experience was I was able to walk-in on a Tuesday at 11:15am and immediately get serviced. I chose Combo #1 package, which was a 60 min Full Body and 15 min Foot Massage. The price - $50. They do accept credit cards; and have a visible recommended Tip Sign. The massage was great, I had the guy mainly focus on upper body, but he did go down to the buttocks. So, if you are shy and uncomfortable, make that known early. All in all, he loosened up some severely tight knots, which left me extremely sore as hell afterwards. I downed about 64oz of water after, because I know with all that deep tissue digging there was built up toxins that needed to be flushed out. That evening I nursed the soreness in a Himalayan Salt Soak and applied some Dragon, the next day I felt better so good. I personally didn't enjoy the foot massage, he was very rough and was digging into the bottom of my foot like he was giving my foot a deep tissue massage, which hurt A LOT. I had the worst massage of my life yesterday at this place. I've been in this place several times before, but yesterday was absolutely horrible. At the end, the receptionist refused to tell me the name of the masseur and just mentioned that she's working here part time. I have a severe pain on my back and shoulders as well as bruises on my legs and hands after few hours leaving here. They didn't accept any discount once I reported the situation. AIGHT! Walking in I felt encouraged by the atmosphere since it reminded me of a spa in China. Although adequate and relaxing I found it difficult to communicate with my therapist. I recently stopped by for a 30 minute foot massage and 15 min chair while out on an "errand" aka "mommy time". Anyways it wasn't my first time here and i enjoyed my full body massage done by the female masseus last time so i expected it to be just as good if not better. Great foot massage. They are solid every time on the foot. I suggest the 1 hour foot plus 15 minute back. Or the 1 hour foot and 1 hour back/body. The body massage is primarily back, btw. They don't hit the thighs and legs thoroughly. But it still does the trick. And they are all capable of going very deep tissue. So just tell them how hard or soft you want your massage. It is clean, efficient and awesome prices. This is not a fancy massage but rather a thorough massage. And beware, this is asian massage, they jump on the table and massage your buttocks well. It is totally legitimate with little privacy. The body stalls are a bit open with curtains and no doors. But I HIGHLY recommend. Make sure to call before you go. It gets busy. read more

A friend recommended this place to get a 2 hrs foot and back massage for $70. This price was pretty reasonable since most spas charge well over $100. My first impression walking into this spa is relaxing because it had dim lights and calming music. My mind quickly changed as I was waiting to be called in when in hear alarms going off each time a massage was over. As I got called for my foot massage, it was in a big communal room with 6 or 7 other chairs. I thought I'd be in a private room but whatever. A woman came to my chair with a bucket of warm water for my feet. Didn't greet me. Didn't even look at me. She just picked up my feet and started washing it roughly. After drying it she lotioned up my legs and started to massage. She had a firm grip. I like firm but hers was TOO firm. I asked her to lighten up a few times and even flinched but she kept the same firm pressure. She kept massaging this one tender spot on my leg and I had to sit up to get her to stop. She didn't understand she was hurting me! After 40 min she brought me to another room for body massage. Didn't talk to me.. just motioned to go in a room, gave me a towel and pointed to a sign on the wall about keeping your underwear on. I must mention it isnt a room.. it's just a small space with a massage table and a curtain, low ceilings so you can hear people on either side of your room. Before I got a chance to undress she barged in without announcing herself as I was laying down on the table. So rude! Anyways she started with my back with the same firm grip she had when doing my feet. I told her multiple times to 'lighten up' and 'not so hard' and all she did was nod. But kept the same firm pressure. The body massage was not enjoyable at all. It was pretty much a firm elbow to the spine the whole time. I'm writing this review a day after my experience and I can say my back is more sore now than it was when I went in yesterday. Terrible! Never again. I've never had a foot massage nor did I believe in it. So being that it was New Years Day I decided to try something new and I'm so glad I did. My wife and I visited S&L today after lunch, walked in, and were promptly greeted and seated. We quickly learned that this place is usually very busy and we were lucky to walk in at a time when there was only one other customer. You sit in this very comfortable chair then take off your shoes and then soak your feet in this warm bucket of water prepared for you. From there you just chill and the therapist takes care of the rest. An hour foot rub is $30! So awesome. Suggested tip is $10. It's worth well more than that. We both left super relaxed and felt like we were walking on clouds. We will definitely be back! read more

can only say be careful, be forewarned. The massage therapists are good but not great, their professionalism can easily be questioned. You have a choice between male and female massage therapists, make sure you're comfortable, today's massage was not comforting since I dared not fall asleep-"Is this OK?" was the therapist's question of the day. Then a tip is not for you to decide- it is decided for you. I wanted to leave a 20% tip but was told 25% is what they expected. Oh yes, be prepared, sure they take credit cards, but you'll pay an upcharge for using it. Now you're up to 30%. I'm not going back. Sometimes a bargain is not a bargain. read more

The treatments are ok and affordable. I went last week and was told my treatments of choice would be 45. I asked if they accepted credit cards and he said yes and grabbed it from my hand. When I went to sign the receipt, it said 48. I asked and he said extra charge and pointed at me card. If I'm not mistaken, they are supposed to tell you. I am giving this place 4 stars because of a few things. I had a horrible experience with the Body Massage. I had bruises all over my back and I couldn't relax at all when I had it done. I understand if its painful then somehow it helps u release the muscle tension but I don't think I will ever do it there again. At least for a long time. On the contrary, the foot massage!!! This place is legit. Typical Chinatown style massages, nothing fancy here, but if you want good and cheap this serves the purpose. The space is clean and large. I've been here dozens of times and the quality of massage varies depending on who you get. Still at $40 for a hour massage (or even better, $50 for a hour body massage and 15 minute foot rub) and its hard to go wrong. Only catch is they have a minimum tipping amount for the girls. I don't mind the minimum since I would tip them at least that much regardless, but it seems the business model is not to pay the masseuses at all and have them work strictly on tips. Not feeling great about supporting that type of business practice but I guess it's reflected in the low price. So tip your masseuse well people, this is all they're living off of. read more

Combination B - 1 hour body + 15 min feet - is the perfect length. Very good deal - each massage is $50 and you get a free massage after every 10. Keep in mind this is a very basic massage, not at all a fancy experience. If you are looking for high thread count sheets, aromatherapy, and calming music, this is not for you. The elevator music is a bit awful - once a Muzak version of the theme song from Titanic was on loop - another time it was Christmas songs during a summer massage. Plus some of the massages are a little painful, but it is totally worth it. You will feel amazing after. I had never gotten a foot massage before I tried S and L a few years ago.
