Had called another local small engine repair shop in town (Castle Rock) who said they were at least 4 weeks out unless you paid an expedite charge. Not wanting to do that I searched for another option. Came Across Vic's and was it a good thing! Runs his shop from his home business. I came in that day (no appointment needed) and he looked at my mower (which had been sitting idle for 3 years) and after a brief look, he determined that a simple annual tune up should do the trick. I called regarding a Toro snow thrower, and got sage advice. Was told that despite others declaring that Toro does not use shear bolts or shear pins; that if I look closely, I will find either bolts or holes for them. When I got home for work, with a pack of shear bolts from McGuckin's Hardware, even though they were not the right ones, they fit anyway. Vic is gentleman, and advisor and a scholar. I did not know he was in Parker, a long way from Boulder, but still took the time to educate me on a simple issue that had be stuck. read more

I beg to differ. I drove 18 miles to pay $135 for full service and bag rod repair on running Toro lawn mower. Now engine smokes and bag needs to be replaced. There is no significant grass cutting improvement. Highly regretting this waste of money. Wish I had put this money into buying a new mower at Lowes. read more

I brought my Honda lawnmower in Tuesday afternoon and received a call at 10:30 the next morning saying it was completed. Vic did a Great job working on our lawnmower. He did a complete tune up including blade sharpening and automatic start button reset. Vic is very professional and courteous in his own business. He started as a hobby to fill time during retirement, but due to his quality of work, it has grown into a nearly full time, very busy job. Wouldn't give bill total !!and then Said it would not Turn off with Key!! Which never had problem before taking it here that I should pull off the Spark Plug wire to turn it off that would be Dangerous!! Where I could get burned by muffler!!or he could put a switch!! To turn it off!! Being a 65yr old woman And Disabled was "Ripped off "!!! To the Sum!! of $210.00 and had to call a Professional Lawnmower Repair who repaired the key switch they Damaged!! And the Mower Still not Running right turning off to find out it didn't even need the new carburetor!! Was fixed at my home in 30 min and charged!!$40 !! Truly as good as it gets. I took my snowblower into Vic's because it wouldn't start and that was frustrating enough. I pretty much failed to put it up properly last spring and gunked up the carburetor royally. Vic knew that was the problem and instead of just saying yeah, you screwed it up, he took the time to explain shut down procedures and proper storage so I wouldn't have this problem again. He was absolutely kind and honest and his prices are super reasonable. He had the carb cleaned out, the timing adjusted and the speeds set in about 2 hours. Ready the same day. It's about a 12 minute drive East of Parker, but a pleasant drive, just use your GPS. They gave my lawnmower a complete tuneup and were reasonably priced. I will be a long term customer. read more

Vic's charged me about 1/2 the price of last year ($60 vs $110), and he fixed some things that they caused last year: cable not tightened so wheels slipping, gear for automatic drive stuck on speed 3. THis guy is a small business owner who cares about customer service; dropped off my mower on Saturday afternoon and he called me Monday to pick it up. He did the basic tune-up, plus washed it thoroughly, to the point I did not recognize it. It is only about a 15 minute drive and worth the time. read more

I took my 12 year old Honda mower with a poor running engine in to Vic's for service. It was surging while it was in neutral and would bog down when going through thick grass. When I picked it up, Vic senior walked out to my truck with me and made the comment "you're gonna love the way she runs now". How often do you hear a service tech say that?! I don't recommend Vic's Small Engine Repair. I took a weed whacker in to be repaired, as it hadn't been run in a couple of years and I told them I thought the gas pump bubble was leaking. It cost me $75 to clean out the carburetor and tune it up, that included a $40 service fee. The first time I go to use it, it's leaking gas all over and so I took it back today. After inspection, they said your gas lines are bad, which you could clearly see. They fixed it, but charged me another $40 and they should have fixed that the first time when they had it apart. I will find another small engine repair company that does things right the first time! read more
