Our re-construction was due to a fire. I did not have any previous experience with construction companies. I was referred to Vic's. I was skeptical & apprehensive about the work product I would, or could, expect. I'm happy to report that my fears were unfounded. Vic & his Project Manager, Rick, were both accessible and responsive whenever I had any concerns about how the work was proceeding. Since the house was built in the early 1900's, there was little insulation & the exterior siding material contained asbestos, which needed special equipment & handling. Vic's made sure there would be sufficient insulation throughout the house & used double-paned glass for the windows, to replace old single-paned windows. We were consulted & given options to choose from, for counter-tops, tiles, exterior finish & colors. The fireplace was removed & the kitchen expanded to include an island with receptacle & an overhang for stools. Vic's turned the disaster into a blessing for us. Since the house was so old, Vic's crew found structural problems with the original construction, as well as, termite & dry rot that would not have been detected until they caused much greater damage. We do not feel Vic's cut corners or used inferior materials to squeeze out the last dollar of profit at our expense. Vic himself, met me at our final walk-through. I was impressed that every item on our "hit list' was addressed & taken care of. Our house is now an asset that has gained great value. From the very beginning Vic worked closely with the adjusters and inspectors and his extensive knowledge made sure that all the repairs were done correctly and no detail was overlooked. STAY AWAY!!! Awful. Do not use this guy or his company. First off, he promised a job would be done in 2 months and it ended up taking 7 months! The crew Vic uses are completely incompetent. We had to constantly point out shoddy paint jobs, half-assed construction or crooked installation work they had done. He also failed to install numerous things we had requested after we had conversations and verbal agreements on; such as lighting, sinks and kitchen cabinets. Sometimes Vic or members of his team would even argue with us that something was fine when it was quite obvious it was not! Our sink was installed so crooked that the left side has an inch wide gap between the wall counter and only 1/8 of an inch on the right! Cabinet doors were built crooked or don't open and close properly. His brother, Javier who is his assistant, was the worst and should not be in charge of any type of construction/restoration crew. Very unprofessional as well. To top it all off, Vic and his crew would sometimes suddenly disappear for a week or two and fail to respond to phone calls, voice mails or text messages leaving us to wonder if he was even coming back! I can not stress enough how poorly run and inefficient Vic's company and construction crew are. I would never recommend him to anybody. If you want a job done right, a product that was what you requested and you want work that is done by experienced professionals who take pride in their craftsmanship - go elsewhere. read more

I'm back into my house after 2 months and I need to make sure Vic's doesn't go unnoticed because they really deserve more than 5 stars. I had a massive flood that began in my upstairs bathroom and it flooded the entire house! I just remember crying my eyes out! I didn't know who to call, besides ghostbusters jk seriously so glad my best friend who works for the LAPD referred me to Vic's Restoration. I spoke to the project manager Violet and she was extremely helpful. She explained the insurance process very eloquently, while her team made effort to extract the water and dry my mess for several days. Violet and Vic really helped me get the most out of my insurance claim. Hands down, I had an awesome experience and I recommend Vic's. Everyone was respectful and Violet was on top of managing and kept everything documented so well. That's important for me. so ive been looking at all the reviews about Vic on yelp and nothing i see sounds like his company. My house caught on fire on september 2015 and Vic was here telling us he would help right away he told us "the house would be done in 4-5 months tops and that he would bring a computer that shows us a visual of the house at the ending product" and guess what we never saw him again!!! We signed contracts and everything trusting him on his word and all he did was Lie and lie. First, it took him 5-6 months to send in the plans to the city and His excuse for not sending them was he went on vacation twice and didnt care about us at all. Second, we asked to see him probably 10 time and he never showed his face to us. Third, we had a deal that he would bring a cage for our 3 dogs in the back and he agreed to do that. His workers let our dogs leave the property 3 times and told Vic and all he said he would be there soon. 4th time 2 dogs left the property and 1 got hit by a car and we had to put him to sleep . He showed up after the dog got run over with the cages and right there and then showed us how much of an asshole he was. The worst part he lives 2min away from my house and 5min walking. Amazing customer service right!!! Fourth, finished the house with so many unfinished places it was disgusting. Last thing i want to say is please if u see this and are looking for someone to restore your place dont go to Vic!! I definitely recommend Vic's!! These guys are beyond what I expected. After my parents house had a fire we didn't know what to do, everything was a mess. What mattered most was that my parents were ok and were not home given it was a very sad experience for us all. I've had my share of bad experiences with the insurance companies and I just knew dealing with the insurance was going to be a terrible nightmare and I didn't want to deal with them, I have a life of my own and my parents needed real help. But NOT the back and forth help that the insurance gives you. So I decided to give Vic's a chance and after meeting Victor and his team I felt very comfortable because they actually answered all my questions and listened most importantly they made things go smooth for my parents. By the time the insurance Adjuster was scheduled to come out to see the fire damage to my parents house, Victor the main contractor had the estimate already in his hand. It was priceless to see the adjusters face. He was pretty upset but that's why I hired Vic's to let the insurance know that I have options and people that can help me. It was the best decision I made for my parents and my childhood home. They helped so much I can't even tell you enough. They really increased the value to my parents home, that alone is a big wow. These guys are flexible. The kitchen is nothing like it was! It's what my mom always wanted! The insurance adjuster was nice but he didn't want to pay the rightful amount of course but fortunately Vics team had documented everything from day one. Victor is the main contractor and owner he is truly generous he knows construction that's for sure, it was important to have a team that knew fire damages and construction. Big difference to just a regular contractor! They just knew how to explain the damages the right way, it was smooth the entire time and my parents are back home at last. It took 8 months but all in all worth it because now my parents have a new house and it really stands out in the neighborhood. I would never let the insurance handle a claim for me or anyone I know that I am close to, my advice hire Vics if you had a fire. The experience they have and the way they collaborate is without a doubt excellent! I never felt left out most of all, the project manager kept me posted the entire time by email or text it was just easy. It was smooth that's what I can truly say. When I called the main phone number to report this negligent driver, the person who answered did not identify themselves.
