They did reschedule my appointment because the original nail tech couldn't do DD. Gulzat handled my manicure and did a very nice job, we talked about perfumes (Baccarat Rouge, she complimented me), she offered me a drink, changed up the color when I asked for more sparkle, and did a neat and clean job, nice cuticles. The manicure was a bit more compared to the other salons I've been to recently, and my hands were dry (no lotion). There are other beauty services offered at Legen--I'm allergic to--dary, so I might check them out. All jokes aside, I think my manicure at Legendary was nicely done. Whoever helped me exclusively used a drill, I am assuming because she wanted to save time. I had to tell her multiple times that my nail bed was getting too hot and even jumped in pain. Only once ever did I get a removal service like this elsewhere and I never went back - unfortunately I won't be back at this location either. Two weeks later and my nails are still splitting as the grow up and in incredible pain. In short, It took me weeks and weeks to grow my nails out and now I have to start from square -10. They said their stylist is on call, so they would get back to her to see when there is an opening and get back to me. I never got a call back any time so I had to keep calling to try for an appointment. I finally called for the 5th time and they then said they're not sure if the stylist is on vacation or not and they haven't gotten a call back for me. I got that information the 5th time I called. I never thought getting an appointment at a spa (which has a salon in it) would be so difficult. I understand that it's around the holidays but I do not understand why/how it is so difficult to just get an appointment. I just said the next opening; I didn't need an urgent appointment. Pros: - Peter was my masseuse and he was great. I purchased a Groupon for a 60 minute foot massage and I was upsold by the lady at the front desk to pay an extra $10 to upgrade to 30 min foot massage and 30 minute upper body massage. It was a good decision because all parts of me needed some TLC. Peter made sure that I was okay with the pressure he was using. It was very relaxing and a much needed massage. Peter was great and he deserves 4 stars. Cons: - The masaage parlor is set up where there are about 10 massage beds in the back. I guess if you purchased a "combo massage" that's when you get a private room as you need to undress. I was not aware. I was fine with the "public" massage as they kept the room dim and quiet with spa music playing in the background. - What I did not like was the lady at the front was too loud when she kept letting new customers in the back to get their massages. She was not using her inside voice and had the heaviest of footsteps. She really disrupted the serenity of the parlor and woke me up a couple times from my light sleep during my massage. Every time I go, the experience is consistently great. Mark, the owner, is awesome. You can tell he genuinely cares about the business and the people who come in. It doesn't feel corporate or transactional. It feels personal, and that makes a big difference. And Jenny is the best. She's my go to every time. Strong hands, super intuitive, and she somehow always finds the exact spots that need work. I walk in tight and stressed, and leave feeling completely reset.
