Every time I go, the experience is consistently great. Mark, the owner, is awesome. You can tell he genuinely cares about the business and the people who come in. It doesn't feel corporate or transactional. It feels personal, and that makes a big difference. And Jenny is the best. She's my go to every time. Pros: Great massages at reasonable prices. Cons: The place smells VERY musty and feels humid which makes it feel dirty. They desperately need a few dehumidifiers. There were definitely some pros and cons to Joy Foot Spa. I was up the fence on whether giving them 3 or 4 stars because im really stuck at 3.5. Pros: - Peter was my masseuse and he was great. I purchased a Groupon for a 60 minute foot massage and I was upsold by the lady at the front desk to pay an extra $10 to upgrade to 30 min foot massage and 30 minute upper body massage. It was a good decision because all parts of me needed some TLC. Peter made sure that I was okay with the pressure he was using. It was very relaxing and a much needed massage. Peter was great and he deserves 4 stars. Cons: - The masaage parlor is set up where there are about 10 massage beds in the back. I guess if you purchased a "combo massage" that's when you get a private room as you need to undress. I was not aware. I was fine with the "public" massage as they kept the room dim and quiet with spa music playing in the background. - What I did not like was the lady at the front was too loud when she kept letting new customers in the back to get their massages. She was not using her inside voice and had the heaviest of footsteps. She really disrupted the serenity of the parlor and woke me up a couple times from my light sleep during my massage. I wish they had a better system of keeping quiet or a better way to let people in the back room. Would I come back again? Maybe. I may try a couple other parlors first and see how those go. read more

I love a good deep tissue massage and this place did not disappoint. I am a runner and as a runner, i get a lot of aches and pains. I've been here 3 times and each time I've came with different aches and every single time they get rid of the knots and those pesky aches without me telling them. This is a very typical Asian massage place so don't expect a high end place with robes and all. Do expect them to, at some point, hop on top of the massage table and use their elbows and forearms for the massage. I really enjoy these massages and body does too! read more

I would love to tell any and all potential customers out there every gruesome detail that still replays in my head (like it was yesterday) at any time I am reminded of this place (I only was reminded today when I was online searching for a masseuse). So maybe the best thing I can do to avoid any sort of legal threat or trigger some algorithm that might block my review, is just say this: "If you planned to disrobe for a massage, run the other way, friend. Do not look back. Do not go there, even with a gift certificate in hand." My eyes are welling up typing only these words and restraining myself from releasing the avalanche of truths behind this. I noticed that the reply they put up to a negative post was duplicated. Not a misprint. Not, oops, we put that up twice by mistake. Oh no. Every word was identical, but they posted it twice with two different dates. If one reads the phrasing carefully, by the way, it becomes apparent it is a constructed "positive" review. No one writes like that except for money or as a favor. Nope. Save yourself. DO NOT WALK IN THAT DOOR. read more

Horrible, horrible horrible. I received a full body massage from my daughter as a gift, and when I really needed one, went here (recently) to hopefully receive some relief from stress and body aches. They have you in a large room (no one else was there, though), and have you lie down and put your feet in a bucket of warm water. Just laying like that--flat on my back with my feet down to the floor--made my lower back ache horribly. I asked the woman to focus on my shoulders and neck, but she said they did the full body massage only one way, and would only do as much as they normally do for those areas. Then, near the end, she started literally pounding on my back violently with her fists (and believe me, I usually like deep tissue massages, but this wasn't it...), and then when she was done, she kept nudging me to get up and out--"Done!" "Done!". I was so upset, and left there with a headache. So much for my daughter's gift and my stress relief. I will never go here again, nor will I ever purchase a gift certificate for anyone. There are too many other good places with much better service. Had to give it a star, but I don't think it even deserves that. read more

I love this place. They are great. They try their best and can get a little over zealous . But will ask you if everything is okay. They used a lavender lotion that was oh so fragrant . I wish I could just stay and nap when I'm finished but my snoring may scare away the customers. For the price I have had 2 hours when I feel in need of it. Highly recommend it. Don't forget to leave a decent tip they deserve it!! Just came in again. Wow ask for Linda ! I just had one of the most amazing massages in my life. That's included in my 4 hour Thai massage. One of the best massages I have had. Came here for the first time since saw lot of good reviews on Groupon. And people where right about this place. Helen did my massage and she was perfect. Would definitely recommend this place to friends. If you come in then ask for Helen she does know how to do the massage. Did one hour one but next time will do the 2 hour one with her. The only thing I didn't like is there are no kurtens. So you are in the open so no privacy. I was the last one they took so it was ok. Had a wonderful Chinese style massage here. Came here with a friend after a very tough workout. It was the perfect way to counter muscle soreness! We both opted for the hour long foot massage which is really 30 minutes on feet, 15 minutes on body and 15 on scalp. The masseuse kept checking to see how the pressure was - it was spot on! If you truly let the masseur work their magic, you will notice they are very attuned to your stiff areas and work diligently to relieve you of your discomfort. An added courtesy in every massage I've had at Joy is the masseur asking if everything is well during the massage itself. Highly recommend & will continue to frequent. If you weren't satisfied with your massage (ie. the ratings below), perhaps request a different pressure or raise awareness to your sensitive areas. Be proactive in your overall experience instead of leaving a harsh review. I used to go here weekly, sadly it has really gone down hill and is dirty and stinky. The place is littered with air freshners and they burn incense to make the smell of B.O. I got an eye infection from the older male man who had long nails and kept jabbing my face and eyes with his sharp long nails. I told the man and he didn't speak English, called the owner and he just let it pass by as though he didn't understand what I said. I was a REALLY REALLY good customer here and even let the bad smell go and the awful incense but truth by told, I got an eye infection the day after being here and the man was truly jabbing my face and had long nails. Ugh!! I really liked this place, when it was all over with I even told the owner "no good" and he just said "ok". I can't recommend this place again and threw my remaining credit from the pre-pay cards into the garbage. I don't wish an eye infection like I got on anyone. They do not launder the towels after used and just remake the massage bed with the same stuff and I have watched this over and over again and was a dummy for continuing to go there, so lesson learned on my part. Sadly I brought so many friends here over time and was a regular but they totally have gone down hill and it's not a good place. The smell is the worst part. read more

When I say your hurting me, it means I am in pain and you should stop or lighten up the pressure. When you tell me to just relax and I say I can't because it hurts so bad, you should get the idea that I am very uncomfortable. When I physically have to grab your hand and say STOP, you still did not get it. I have never left any type of body treatment hurting all over. Never again. What a great massage experience for the money. There are a few low massage tables/platforms in the rooms, so you are not in a private room. You keep all your clothing on except for shoes and socks, so wear something comfy and not too bulky. It is a wonderful combination with oil, hot stones and deep tissue massage, especially on the neck. The massage table was very comfortable.
