The Victoria Theatre is one of my favorite places in downtown Dayton. The theater has a beautiful historical exterior as well as interior, the seating is comfortable and padded booster seats we're available for children. It's always a delight to watch a play at this venue, the acoustics are good and I don't believe there's a bad seat in the house. The pricing is very reasonable for the entertainment provided. There is ample parking in garages throughout this city. We were able to take our grandchildren to this performance of Dragons and Mythical Beasts and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

What daytrip to Dayton would be complete without seeing an old movie at the Victoria Theatre! The theatre is located right in the heart of Downtown and was built as Dayton's Music Hall in 1866. The gorgeous architecture reflects the time period; I can just imagine the debutantes walking around, enjoying the opera. Victoria Theatre overcame some hard times too: floods, fires, and even being on the chopping block for demolition. Today, it remains as a prominent landmark where patrons can enjoy movies and live performances. We visited Victoria Theatre to watch the original version of "The Producers," one of my favorite musicals. The ambiance of the old theatre was the perfect setting for this black and white movie. Free soda and popcorn were served in the lobby, and the "preview" before the movie was actually an old Looney Tunes cartoon. This was definitely a special treat to discover in Dayton - who knew! It made for the completion of a perfect day.

I absolutely love all the events Victoria Theater puts together! Went to the TedX dayton event and they did a great job!

Saw Stephen King here. Very elegant theater. If I lived closer I would definitely attend shows here. Small and classy ! !

We buy season tickets for years. The food goes through transition. for a long time the favorite…read morewere the yeast rolls then not so great. the food today has more flavor than years past. In the past too bland no seasoning. The roast beef is always dry i don't even ask for it anymore, however the ham is usually very good. this last trip the fish was down on taste and the sweet potato dish had so much topping it was too sugary. In general the shows are excellant (except the tribute to John Denver last year and that should not come back) This year has been really great shows. we signed up for the 2027 season. I understand not putting salt of food for dietary reasons but it does need a step up of seasoning. The child actors are always fun, they are very talented. getting out of the parking lot not a big problem. everyone is usually patient and respectful letting each other in and out. Overal we enjoy the night out. Get those yeast rolls back on track LOL. this last time they were hard. The staff is always great. We tip based on the meal price. we always tip well as servers have a hard job and are amazing to remember verything they do! I notice the salad is getting smaller and smaller and less dressing. it must sit out an hour before we arrive as now it is not cold and crisp. that really brings the flavor down. I always have to ask for extra dressing and i no longer love the warm salad. I understand the timing but it would be nice to set the salads out so they are not so warm. I think attention to a few details would increase business for sure. And yes the seats are awful the atmsophere is clean bathrooms a plenty . The gift shop seems like they no longer stock it. I used to love to go in take a look and buy something. Now i don't visit the shop much. not much inventory.

It was quite the engaging night out! I hadn't been to La Comedia Dinner Theatre in years, so I was…read moreexcited to finally use the tickets I gave as a Christmas gift--especially for Jesus Christ Superstar. I do love me some Andrew Lloyd Webber, after all. First, the good: the service was excellent. Our waitress and the bus staff were attentive, hardworking, and made sure we were well taken care of all night. Truly appreciated. And the highlight of the evening--the show itself--did not disappoint. The cast was fantastic, full of energy and talent, and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Now...the not-so-good (because every great review needs a plot twist). The food didn't quite match the level of the show. The veggies were more "mushy medley" than fresh, and the roast beef had clearly committed to being well-done...very well-done. The fried chicken had a surprising kick--unexpected, but not terrible. Drinks leaned more toward "sparkling sugar water" than cocktail, if you know what I mean. That said, the white fish and tartar sauce were solid, and the sweet potato soufflé and coffee with strawberry shortcake dessert were definite highlights. One point of confusion: gratuity. It was clearly stated that it wasn't included (message received!), but since I'd purchased tickets months ago and only paid for drinks that night, I wasn't quite sure what the tipping expectations were for our wonderful server and bus staff. Also worth noting: the seating. After nearly four hours, the chairs and I were no longer on speaking terms. I even tried switching seats--same result. While the theater has a nice, elegant feel, it does come across as a bit dated and could benefit from a refresh. The same goes for their marketing--it's easy to forget about them, and the website could use some streamlining. All in all, it was a fun night with a great show and wonderful service. Would I go back? Maybe...after my back recovers and if the menu gets a little encore-worthy upgrade.
